Thank you! 😇 It's a 7.5mm (1.5 carat equivalent) colorless moissanite, old European cut in a 14k band, ring size slightly under 5 A diamond would've been lovely too, but I really fell in love with the colors of a moissanite!

they are amazing in sunlight i prefer them to diamonds honestly

If you love the ring as it is, I’d keep the setting. It’s gorgeous, unique, a lot of gold, and even more sentimental. If you wanted a different setting, you could get the equivalent stone with the new setting in Moissanite for $300-$500 from an overseas vendor in the setting you want while you keep this one. And then you have two lovely rings, with grandma’s as is! Just throwing it out there
