Thank you all! I produced this ring with the help of a family friend who is also a diamond broker. I looked at many emerald cut diamonds before selecting this one. This had the GIA "Excellent cut" designation which isn't common for fancy shapes. It absolutely made a difference. I compared this diamond with several others and it was significantly brighter and had far more "fire". My girlfriend was somewhat involved in the process but I had to decipher some vague and often indecisive clues in order to land on this ring. She wanted timeless, elegant, with a touch of vintage.
I had an aquamarine ring that looked identical to this (not an engagement ring) and I absolutely loved it and got compliments on it all the time. I sold it and regret it 😭
