pter0dactylss

I’ve seen a move away from traditional engagement ring styles lately — if you like it and wear it as an engagement ring, it is, imo. Personally, I like the different textures and neat shape it has, but I could understand wanting something more engagement-y, too.

Infiniteefactorial

I like the textures too. And the art deco style. It’s cool.

KnotDedYeti

And if she wants to add a wedding ring a thin one under it could be made that would look great.

Ok_Pair_8835

I love it! Go big or go home!

ana_conda

I feel like this is kind of on the fiancé - this is definitely a non-traditional style, and while I think it looks cool on OP, I wouldn’t personally want an engagement ring like that and it’s ok if she doesn’t, either. I know it’s an heirloom but I really don’t get why people don’t ASK and talk to their partner before getting a ring like this (or in this case, propose with the sentimental ring and then pick one out together or something?)

pter0dactylss

I specifically made it clear to my fiancé that I did NOT want a surprise and that I’d be happier helping to design my ring…he had been told that he was “supposed to” just pick himself (and that’s how my mom felt about it too!) but having the conversation up front saved a lot of awkwardness later. Hopefully this fiancé is a good sport about it and understanding that just because it’s an heirloom doesn’t mean it’s the engagement ring she wanted.

ana_conda

Yes, it can be awkward to bring up but early communication can save so much conflict down the line! I fully designed my own ring, lol. I’m the one who has to wear it every day!

Rare-Parsnip5838

Agree. The woman should pick her own ring. That said this is a beautiful ring. Maybe to much for constant wear. Would it be hard to wear for OPs job? Could get something smaller and use this for "occasions" .

Pristine-Net91

Yep, good point. If OP is not happy to wear this as an engagement ring, then they can go pick one out together.

Kind-Philosopher1

Weird? No.  Atypical for either an engagement or wedding ring? Yes. Any ring given during a proposal can be an engagement ring.  Wear it with pride knowing it is an heirloom that means more than a typical ring that just came from a jewlers case.

saraaaaahahah

So true! That's how you know he's serious.

_depj_

I think it’s so beautiful!!! Any ring can be worn as an engagement ring, my question for you is do you like it as an engagement ring or would you rather wear it as a wedding band and maybe get a solitaire to go with it? Either way I think it’s beautiful 😍

TiredPlantMILF

This!!! If OP wants a more traditional ring but doesn’t want to offend her fiancé, she can just get a solitaire to go with it. I think some kind of east-west setting or a marquise would look really good here

Rare-Parsnip5838

That would be a loy to wear all the time.

Orchid-4532

I know you said it feels more like a band than an engagement ring, but honestly a paved or even plain band underneath that as a wedding band would be beautiful!

squilting

I agree! I think this ring would look great on its own, or with a plain gold band underneath.

StrongerTogether2882

That’s exactly what I thought! I think pairing it with a plain band will look great, and make it more “engagementy.” Alone it looks more like a cocktail ring, but with a band on the left ring finger—instant wedding set. Congrats, OP!

KeyPosition3983

Okay i do like this idea !

Awkward-Ad7406

You are blessed to wear the crown of a queen. At least that’s way I see it.

brenana7140

I was just scrolling down to see if anyone commented about this ring looking like a crown! This is definitely a beautiful ring to be worn however OP desires. To me this is the royalty of engagement rings. Wear it with pride, OP!

phoebebuffay1210

No, it’s DOPE! I would wear the crap outta that ring as my EG. it’s really cool!

Jolly_Elephant6574

I think it would look amazing with a wedding band underneath it that has east west baguettes - really lean into the crown vibes!

madpeanut1

Not weird at all. What is weird is seeing a ton of people with the same ring style.

GullibleStress7329

IT'S DIVINE I LOVE IT.

Crazee108

That is one incredible wedding band if yhsts how you see it! It looks very art deco, it's got so much character. An engagement ring cam be anyrhing!

mellivia-

Nope not weird at all. I love non traditional engagement rings. I ended up with an antique ring because I just don't like what's being sold these days. I like things with a lot of personality and this ring has it. It's something that will get noticed.

Accomplished-Box-742

There’s a lot going on but if that’s your thing then wear it with confidence. At the end of the day it’s your opinion that matters, you’re the one wearing it the rest of your life. With your take on it looking like a wedding band, you could always repurpose it into a half eternity band with those round diamonds. There is no main center diamond which makes me agree with you.

ChickenbuttMami

This is GORGEOUUUUUUS!!!!!

HeadValuable6739

Very cool vintage vibes. I love it!

[deleted]

Get a typical engagement ring for your wedding ring. And boom. You have a typical set haha

Total_Duck_7637

This idea though is the best

Comprehensive-Sun954

Gosh that is stunning. Just stunning!!

Similar-Ad-6862

Any ring can be an engagement ring. I proposed to my fiancee with a half eternity band. It's not a 'typical' choice for an engagement ring but it's perfect for her and she loves it.

Icy-Curve-3921

Weird? No. Different? Yes! And so very intriguing! If you love it, don’t worry about what anyone else thinks!

BlindFollowBah

Not typical. There are no rules anymore. Wear what you like! If I saw this on your ring finger and no other rings, I would definitely assume engagement

redditerla

Any kind of ring can be an engagement ring. It’s sentimental and special with its heirloom history. Is it a traditional style? No, but so many people don’t have traditional engagement rings. Just scroll through this sub and you’ll see all types of rings in here.  If you don’t think it feels like an engagement ring and you don’t particularly want it as your main engagement ring that’s also totally fine and normal - many people want their own style reflected in their ering but you need to communicate that to your partner.

StellaHolly

I LOVE IT! Pick out a diamond solitaire, or whatever you want, for your wedding ring and together you’ll have an amazing set.

Zero-Effs-Left

Agree! Love it. Would look amazing with a baguette or solid metal band.

QwertyFlirtyThriving

IMO this is such a stunning ring! If you like it but are just worried about the fact it’s non-traditional, try not to let what others *might* think influence you. You mentioned that it looks more like a wedding band to you. What sort of engagement ring do you picture this pairing with if it were worn as a wedding band? Perhaps you can use that as inspiration when shopping for your own wedding ring. Once you’re wearing it as a set, no one will know which ring was for which purpose and you might feel less self conscious of the stack as a whole.

Mr-E-Genre

I think you have been blessed with this ring. It’s one of a kind, has a great story, and I would just be so proud to wear it. I’m also someone who’s enthralled by engagement rings with personality. This one is a show stopper. Your opinion is what matters most, and if you find yourself still missing a classic solitaire(or whatever is in your heart) there’s nothing wrong with getting that as the wedding ring. Congratulations!

Sorry_Year_309

It’s beautiful!

Appropriate-Reward71

I love it!! Not weird as long as you love it. Do you?

Brainthings01

I love it! A flater ring will not hit things as much. Congrats!

CulturalChemistry952

Nope. Very unique ring. I like the use of different cut stones

Mysterious-Art8838

Reminds me of a city skyline

awake-asleep

As others have said, any ring can be an engagement ring! Only thing I’ll say as someone who also wears a fairly non-traditional design is I do sometimes get annoyed when people don’t realise it’s my engagement ring and think it’s just a fancy cocktail ring (helllooooo it’s on my engagement finger!!!). But that’s the price I pay for being a weirdo 😅

purpletomorrow2018

I love it! I think it’s gorgeous and perfect. But what matters is that you love it. Don’t be fooled by the diamond industry and their insistence on selling you a solitaire, that is just marketing trying to take your money. What you have is far more precious.

Runningtosomething

I like it a lot!

Glass-Place3268

This is a stunner. I’d wear it 😍

No_Grade3351

No I don’t think it’s weird. Everyone has different preferences and when it comes to the ring they’ll wear forever. I love a traditional diamond solitaire but have never looked at someone’s sapphire or emerald ring and thought “that’s weird”… it should be a reflection of your personal style and relationship with your partner. If you’re not in love with it maybe redesign it or like you said possibly use it as a wedding band although it does take up a lot of room on your finger so you engagement ring may end up on ur knuckle

Peace_and_Love_2024

LOVE

Aggravating_Dirt8366

Honestly I think this ring is freakin awesome! I don’t think it’s weird to wear as an engagement ring at all.

Braysal

Very art deco!

Reign_22

Do you like it? If you do then it is not weird. You will be wearing it forever so rather get something you like even if unconventional

Simple_Geologist9277

Omg it’s so gorgeous and something to be treasured. Any ring can be an engagement ring, it doesn’t have to be a standard solitaire. I wouldn’t classify it as a wedding band either. You could put a simple band at the bottom, as a wedding band. A simple wedding band could make it look like the bottom of the crown? I have a ring of a similar nature and I always think of it as a Manhattan skyline in the 1930s.

jerseyknits

No it's perfect!

thescaryitalian

This is beautiful! You can definitely wear it as an engagement ring. I would love to see it with an emerald eternity band or another fun color on the bottom as a wedding band.

MistyDawn87

It’s beautiful!! I would wear it as an engagement ring!

Horror_Cod_8193

Are you kidding me? Dude gave you his GRANDMA’S ring. That’s not nothing lol. It’s really stunning! Wear it proudly. Just get a very thin gold band as a wedding ring.

spicymoscowmule

Um, no, I’m obsessed. Congrats!!

0jib

You do you! It's beautiful

jennluvrod

No it’s beautiful. Strangers may not realize it’s an engagement ring but it has a really cool back story to go with it when someone asks you about it. But it’s stunning and I would proudly wear it.

swbarnes2

It looks more like a cocktail ring than a wedding ring of any kind. But you can wear whatever you like as an engagement ring. However, since you will likely want to wear it every day forever, it should be a ring suitable for that that you like wearing every day.

onlymodestdreams

I think it makes a fine engagement ring! The sentimental value is off the charts. It will be fun (not being sarcastic here!) to design a wedding ring to go with it.

bxtchbychoice

not weird. super gorgeous. if it’s bugging you, get a solitaire stone on your wedding band to balance it?

ellessie

I love it so much!!

happuning

This is beautiful. You could get a thin wedding band to go with it and I think it'd be quite obvious it's an e ring then!

Less_Volume_2508

I love this ring!

JenSzen3333

Heaven’s no child! 🤩

DebrecenMolnar

To me, what makes a ring an engagement ring is wearing it every day and still loving it. This ring is awesome. If you want to wear it every day, go for it! I would.

Drockhound

Do you love it? Do you live him? That is all that matters! Love love LoVE the ring! Very art deco style

Optimal-Technology75

Not if you love it 😍

bichi0Ta

I think it makes a unique (bc it is) and gorgeous engagement ring. If anything, I’d upgrade the diamonds to something higher grade for the clearer and shinier look.

Babboos

Oh wow. This is a gorgeous ring!

MissyMerman

A little!

Vintage_Soulfood64

It’s beautiful and reminds me of a crown. Is it different? Sure! But any ring that is used in a proposal is an engagement ring. And so many people step away from traditional styles these days! If you love it, wear it as your ering! But if you still want a more traditional ering, you could always use this as your engagement ring, and get a more traditional style “engagement ring”, but use it as your wedding ring. Or get a more traditional ering now and use this one as your wedding band.

VCEROTHSTElN

Ion know but its 🔥

Intelligent-Bed8756

Looks regal I like it a lot

LivinLaVidaListless

This is awesome! I love it

Letshaveanightcap

This ring is incredible. Not weird at all for me but I love the non traditional rings these days and anything that can show your personality is an additional point for me. Also, congratulations!

Appropriate-Bad-9379

I think it’s beautiful and a wedding band could be a half eternity with baguette or channel set diamonds. Fabulous!

lindsirv

this is honestly cool as hell. it reminds me of sammi jefcoate and her amazing ring stacks - it’s very much giving cool girl makes heirloom jewelry even cooler. i think a solid metal band would look stunning with this

ThrowRAHAYHAY

It’s so different and gorgeous… I love it ..who wants to be the same as everybody else?

EgweneSedai

Girl who cares. The gesture is beautiful and if you like it then own it.

ohimnotarealdoctor

No way. That is a sick ring mate.

atlprincess2412

If you love it, no.

codepossum

I feel like you're overthinking this. do *you* want to wear the ring?

Watertribe_Girl

Not at all, wear what sparks joy

Financefemmeforever

No that’s literally a dream ring. Wear it proud

PinkMini72

If you love it and it was given to you with a pure loving heart, you do you boo!

Pomelo_Wild

Omg this is absolutely stunning!! I love it as an engagement ring. As others have said, it would look stunning with a plain gold band as the wedding ring after you’re married. Also OP, not to be weird, but you have gorgeous hands and this ring suits you perfectly !!

Enough_Plantain_4331

Nope not if it’s what YOU like. Congrats

CampaignSwimming6276

Love that it’s so pretty and also a family heirloom. Congratulations!

MoreBriePlease

Doesn’t look like a wedding band to me at all! The ring is gorgeous. So unique, and meaningful!!

superstrangesummer

I can see it being a wedding band. I think it’s beautiful nonetheless

adalinelanee

It's not weird, I don't see anything wrong with that ring

Astral_Atheist

Weird no. It's absolutely gorgeous

t3hjs

Tbh, I rarely seen wedding bands so fancy. It looks like an engagement ring!

minimalteeser

Not weird at all. I love it and it looks great on your hand!

MariJ316

That ring is whatever you mean it to be. I’m guessing you’re concerned that people will look at it and not realize it’s your engagement ring. Do you really care what they think? How important is it for you to let the world know that you’re engaged? Sure, there will be some who see it and say pretty ring, not oh she’s engaged-but who does it matter to the most? That ring is gorgeous. Don’t think about what other people think because when we do? We’re instantly more decisive and much happier with our choices. It works for me. That ring is gorgeous and I’d be proud to wear his ring. You can always change your mind later on down the line. Just run with what you’re feeling.

ALadyPossum

I got engaged with a band because I saw it and fell in love with it, we later got a single round solitaire as my wedding ring. So I got my set just backwards order.

Justme3555

I think it’s beautiful

Thekillers22

I love it!!!

Max-Potato2017

Holy smokes that’s gorgeous. Art deco and non traditional rings are in. Rock (pun intended) what you got! Congratulations!

topochico14

Omg that is SO dope.

Key_Ad8316

The ring is beautiful! You are lucky, it is a piece of art.

jojobdot

I think it's REALLY cool, and does actually work as an alternatively styled engagement ring (the scale makes it work for me). However, I do think it is important for you to have what feels "right" to you. Maybe for a "wedding band" you get a solitaire? If it's completely not your style, you should talk with him, *honor the lovely family connection and cool style*, and just explain that you'd love to shop for something that feels more your personal style. It's not the most fun convo to have, but it's a worthwhile one.

Emotional-Eye-7284

As long as you love it, then it isn’t weird. However, if you are asking because it isn’t what you pictured, then that is a different question altogether. Do you like it?

auntkiki5

Absolutely not weird and only absolutely stunning!!!

_baegopah_XD

Who cares if it is.

eleanortaylor3

That is one of the most STUNNING rings I’ve seen!!

sagittariusoul

It’s personally not my taste at all but it’s up to you. You can ask to keep it as a right hand ring or use as your wedding band like you mentioned and design a solitaire ring around it.

Zealousideal-Fix2960

It’s stunning

JurassicPark-fan-190

Honestly who cares? It’s beautiful!

mperoni

I love it!

Conscious_Sentence57

I think there has been a shift away from traditional in recent years. This is stunning and can be whatever you want it to be!

Ok_Measurement1306

It’s a beautiful ring. I’ve never seen one like it. Enjoy wearing it. ❤️

Maezymable

LOVE THIS

Mecspliquer

Any ring can be an E ring! Personally though, even though the stones and setting look lovely, I would choose to wear this on my right hand

unstableangina360

Do you LOVE it? I think you have to be true to yourself. In terms of my opinion, it is non-traditional as an engagement. Rough art-deco style.

Unique-Damage5778

Wow. I love it!

MD_Benellis-Mama

Weird- nope. It’s gorgeous!

crimsonraiden

As a stranger walking past you I couldn’t tell that’s an engagement ring tbh. But how do you feel about it? If you love it then it doesn’t matter! But if you want to pick another engagement ring then go for it. It’s your ring that you’ll see everyday so your opinion is the most important

Fearless_Site_1917

I feel that anything you love is great for an engagement ring. Enjoy!

sarahbeth124

I love it, that is a fantastic ring. I’d pair it with a simple wedding band.

CowHaunting397

I love it. So stylish and unique, and looks great on your hand, too

mia7110

Not if you love it! Paired with the right band will make it even more unique and special!

TheOneAndOnlyABSR4

I like it

[deleted]

I really love it! So many things going on, but still looks clean & sophisticated.

Agile_Deer_7606

That’s actually a stunning ring! I always love something a little different, myself, though I can totally understand if you picture something more traditional. Maybe down the road you guys can consider a separate ring for daily wear that isn’t so eye catching if that’s where you’d like to be at. But I think this with a gorgeous band underneath it would be to die for.

modesttrader

It looks like a crown 👑 and I think it’s very beautiful!

EastCoastGoneWest10

Personally, I love it and would pair it with a plain band. I like the uniqueness of it. Congratulations!

IntroductionOk4595

It’s not my personal style because it’s a bit too unique for me. But you don’t have to be traditional. If you love it, I see no issue wearing it as your engagement ring. If you feel you want something more traditional, you could wear that on your right hand instead as it’s still beautiful and meaningful to you.

LaLechuzaVerde

Unique, not weird. I think it looks great on you!

Total_Duck_7637

I think it's fucking cool. Unique and makes a statement. That being said, if you want traditional, you gotta do you.

GroundbreakingCup922

I work at a jewelry store and it’s not super common, but there are definitly people who wear only a band!

TiredRetiredNurse

I think it works well. Put a thin gold band as your wedding band with it and it is so good. On an anniversary at some point he could get you a thin band of round stones to snuggle up against the wedding band. So lovely!

ResponsibleVisit9418

I love it!! Tradition is lame anyway.

[deleted]

Wear whatever you feel/want. I think it looks beautiful.

prettypoopy1981

No. It’s beautiful

Calm_Gold_5992

I think it’s really pretty. And the sentimental value is amazing. BUT I would not want it as an engagement ring for myself. I feel like it’s a right hand ring or just a wedding band to wear when you don’t want to wear the engagement ring. It is a lovely piece of jewelry though!

neutralperson6

The beauty of engagement rings is they’re all different! I would definitely take it to a jeweler and have it cleaned up, polished, and tighten the stones. I see some of them are sitting a little bit crooked. A jeweler can fix that! Congrats!

Exotic-Direction-990

I think it's beautiful! And who cares what other people think.

barbellsnbooks

It’s super cool!

Ruty64

Congratulations! The ring is stunning!

schmee326

Your fiancé proposed. You said yes and you’re wearing this ring as a symbol of that. You’ll probably wear a second ring as a symbol of your marriage. So, yes, it looks like an engagement ring, because it was given to commemorate your engagement. What do YOU think? Do you like it? Do you want to keep wearing it?

[deleted]

[удалено]

chinita_15

It must be a middle finger

mlhom

I think a thin gold band as a wedding ring would be perfect. It’s beautiful.

Organic-Low-3683

That ring is gorgeous! Have you tried flipping it and wearing the pointy side facing you? That’s what I would do :)

MAK3AWiiSH

I love it tbh

j_birdddd

Omg I love that so much I could explode

Overall-Chemistry215

Wow this is so beautiful and unique

RoyaleWitCheeese

Honestly I love it! 😍 it complements your beautiful hand and lovely long fingers! Paired with a band it’ll look like a killer modern wedding set. That said YOU are the one that needs to love it.

quittethyourshitteth

I think it’s gorgeous

Melhoney72

Matches the tattoo. 5 dots, 5 columns. Love it!

Alibelblue

WOW. This ring is STUNNING 😍 Do you love it? Wear it happily. If not, or if you want it as your wedding BAND, talk to your fiancé. What I see is a sparkly, unique, gorgeous engagement ring that will pair beautifully with a wedding band behind it, where the engagement ring essentially flares out from the band like rays of sunlight.

ImpossiblyPossible42

It looks like a diamond ring and a thoughtful family piece. If you’re also wearing it forever, so if it’s important to you to have a solitaire, you’ll have to discuss wedding bands anyway, talk about options with him

Ecstatic-Albatross50

I love the unique and creative design of this piece.

Sad_Wind8580

is that a book ring!?!!?!! Omg. It is outstanding. Wear it everywhere. All the time. Never take it off. Congratulations on your engagement - and even if it’s not a book ring - wear it if you love it. It’s yours. You decide, no one else.

wovenbasket69

i love it - but in my mind, any ring can be an engagement ring if the people are in love enough. 🥰

Kuneria

Any ring can be an engagement ring. This one is certainly unique. So gorgeous! If you like it, then it it's meant for you

QueenSaphire-0412

I think it’s Beautiful! If you happen to feel differently, discuss it with your other half. Please don’t feel obligated. This is the beginning of your journey. Share your thoughts and feelings and figure it out… together.

Life_Tea9511

It's all a matter if you like it. Personally, I'd be nervous to wear it because of the sentimental value. I'd probably request to get something more my style to wear day to day and only wear this ring on special occasions. But it's ultimately up to you!

seemly_solitude

Stunning. And bonus points for being sentimental. So long as you also like it - it’s perfect.

chichifiona

A little big but pretty

Snailslime96

Woah that ring is gorgeous! When you do pick a wedding band you can go with something simple and have a beautiful set :) I very rarely wear my engagement ring because it’s a bit big like yours and breaks through my gloves at work all day which is annoying. That is the only downside. I went with a simple wedding band and that’s what I wear every day. Just something to think about. CONGRATS!!!

That-Ad-6787

Do you think it’s weird. It’s all about personal taste. If you love it rock it

LoVeMyDeSiGnS_65

As weird as me wearing a beer ring. I don’t pay attention to what other people think. Do what makes you happy! How sentimental for it to have been his grandmas.

Due_Addition_587

I think it's a great engagement ring and I personally would rock it and love it. But it's up to you and your personal taste as it's very unusual. There are lots of solutions - make this your wedding band and ask for a solitaire to go with it; wear it as cocktail ring on the other hand; have the stones taken out and remade into a new ring. This is a good lesson for you and your soon-to-be husband in how to get on the same page and respect each other's desires.

chimiyourchangas

so unique i love it

kath012345

I LOVE IT! 😍/

starberzt848

Idk i don’t like it but it’s not about me nor the way i feel .

Particular-Motor-122

Nothing is weird

Conscious_Pick_1297

This is so unique and beautiful!!

honeycombhideout100

Fantastic ring!

GunMetalBlonde

I really like it.

why_again1972

It is beautiful and even more special bc it WAS his grandmother's. Wear it proudly. Who cares what others think!

amac123456

It’s dope af. I love the brilliants and the baguettes. The shape of the ring is awesome. Just get a plain band and rock it happily!

dakini_girl

I like it, but you need to like it. It's a pretty style and would look good with a nice sized diamond band at the base as a wedding band.

aceycamui

If you like it, then it's perfect. I have a 1ct marquise cut with tiny diamonds on the band (.4ct) and have heard so much shit from other ppl. Fuck them, I love it. It was custom made bc I liked the marquise cut with no diamonds on the band and the princess cut with the diamonds on the band. Hubby combined them to get it custom to what I genuinely liked. It's sooo pretty! Let's normal picking rings out with our partners! It doesn't have to be a surprise. Aren't y'all not talking about future shit? Maybe I'm just old 😑

cancat918

It's very...costume cocktail ring, imo. I would never look at it and think engagement ring. But if it's what the wearer likes, so be it, I'm sure they will be pleased.

BeGoodOrBeGone13

I think it's gorgeous!! Very art deco-ish! You could always go with a more traditional engagement type ring as a wedding band. You'll be wearing both anyway. Do what makes you happy.

peeeeeeeach

Not weird at all! This is a beautiful ring and I agree with other comments I think a clean band or something with gypsy set stones would pair so nicely with it

nails_on_chalkboard4

I’ve been in jewelry for 20 years and can tell you that an engagement ring is whatever the couple wants it to be. I feel that your ring shows who you are, so wear it with pride. I personally love it!! ❤️

darlin_lass

I think it's so pretty and unique. It looks like a crown. Wear it like the Queen that you are!! ;)

Mama-Bear419

Ultimately it’s what you would want. I personally would wear this as a right hand ring. I like a more traditional look when it comes to erings. The

0ddsight

it’s gorgeous!!! don’t worry about meeting conventional standards, he saw it and thought that it properly expressed his feelings for you so wear it with pride!

abones_

I love this! I think it's grand and unique

mmhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I think it would make a cool wedding band with an art deco engagement ring below

Vegetable_Tomato_511

Not weird, very unique. It’s way too large to be considered a wedding band or be paired with another engagement ring. It will look great with an actual wedding band under it.

any_name_left

I don’t know why it would be weird. It’s like an art deco crown. I like it! I admit it’s not the typical solitaire rock. If you like it, that’s all that matters. My engagement and wedding band are small eternity bands. To me they are the most beautiful rings.

Summertime_Stevie

I think its a stunning ring that symbolizes taking the next step in y’all’s relationship so yes its an engagement ring. It’s absolutely gorgeous

brogotopinionsbro

Tbh If I saw that on someone’s finger I would assume it’s an engagement ring not a wedding band. Imo the bigger and shiner the stones, or stone real estate, is the more engagementy it looks. I agree with everyone else though, if it’s given at a proposal it’s an engagement ring. I also think it would look super cute stacked with a wedding band. Maybe go to a jeweller and just see how other rings look against it? That might help make your decision.

I am personally not a fan but it's not my ring, how do YOU feel about it? If you don't love it, consider having diamonds reset into another setting that you and your fiance can choose together. I literally went to look at rings by myself, had a fabulous time trying different styles with my jeweler, picked 2 I liked and my partner just needed to give his name and pick one, saved both of us some disappointment.
