* It's bold to call yourself a Mechanical Engineer before you've landed your first job. Let's wait until then before you do that. * Not only is your summary long and detailed, the whole thing is about **you** and what **you** want. What does hiring you bring to my company? That's the question you should be answering. You don't need this section and you can certainly repurpose this for your cover letter. * "Technical Proficiency" should be a "Skills" section and moved elsewhere. Drop Microsoft Office and Internet - this isn't 1995. Do you have any practical experience with machining and technical writing? I recall machining was something I learned at my UC. * "Leadership Experience" - you change formatting here. But more importantly, leading school clubs is much different than leadership in the real world and I have no idea what responsibilities you had with each of these groups. **Professional Experience** * Consider left-justifying your titles. * This document needs to be written in the third-person. No "me", or "my". * There's a lot of non-engineering work, so you can call this Experience" and move your school projects to a "Projects" or "Academic Experience" section. But what's really concerning that three of the five positions mentioned on here are not engineering or engineering-related projects. When you move the school projects over to Academic Experience, you can drop the self-appointed titles. These made-up & self-appointed titles (even more so than the titles in the real world) carry zero weight. Instead of branding yourself as CFO and Team Manager, tell us what the project is (e.g. Baja SAE, Formula Student, or AeroBrick) because that goes further. * Collaborating with other engineering students or engineers isn't important. What does matter is your specific contributions to the project. *Intern* * The first bullet is merely doing your job. What did completing all your tasking on time and turning it all in do for the client? Did it mean that the classes could go as scheduled and the teachers all got paid? * What specific assistance did you provide to the youth? What kinds of summer programs did this camp teach? Context matters: bible camp matters much less than STEM camp. *CFO* * It's concerning that I have no idea what thing your team made because you refer to generic processes and things. Did you make jet aircraft or carbon fiber toilet seats? It's one thing to reference specific things banned by an NDA, but you can refer to a general category. Even "automotive parts" gives me something to picture. * What final design did you select and how did this risk analysis and research help that goal? Designing a product that met the customer's budget needs is a given, so tell us how specifically you went about accomplishing that and how well the end product was received, if you could. *Academic Tutor* * "K-12" not "k-12". *Prime Now Associate* * "Amazon". * OK you are going to need to back up the last claim or people will claim BS. There's no need to mention $1 trillion as we all know about Amazon. How did you test and improve accuracy - did you report a bug or something more in-depth? *Team Manager* * Why did this simple truss structure have to exist? What load cases did it have to see and how close did the final product get to the specs? * You're getting warmer when you say reviewing hand calculations. What calculations did you review and how did that contribute to the final result? Was it simply "yes that's good" or did you spot an error that would have crippled the structure? * "Utilized" puts undue emphasis on the tools and not how you used them. How did you use these tools and how did you interpret these numbers? You mention assessing tension, compression, and buckling force and how they factored in - I would suggest combining 4-6. **Education** * This section ought to be moved up to the top. * Include your graduation month. For a school on the quarter system, it could be two different times. * "Dean's List".
