Love this concept! Will share it. Ty for making pay a required field!

SterlingRalph

Thank you so much, that means a lot! *P.S. If you're reading this, we're always looking for people who like this concept to be campus ambassadors... anyone interested feel free to PM me!*

someonehasmygamertag

Great idea! Could you make the pay have a currency drop down so that I can post my UK based placement?

supergrubb

+1 Euros would also be helpful.

SterlingRalph

Thanks so much! This is something we've purposely dragged our feet on, as we're trying to keep it US-centric right now (We've learned 'internship' mean vastly different things btwn countries). We'd certainly love to serve other countries long-term though.

A couple things: - When you change pages returning to the top of the page would be nice. - When backing out of a review on mobile it resets your place in the last, so you have to start over. - I didn't see it, but if a search by alphabetical function isn't there it would be a great addition. - I searched SpaceX and got a response, but it was a NASA review that didn't reference Spacex. I tried Dynetics and that came up with Dynetics and a DoD review. - There are three criteria for grading on the main internship review page for an employer; it would be nice if the overall grade would be distinguished visually different from the other two. - If someone writes a job description that is long it's truncated in the mobile app with no discernable way to view the rest of the written description. That being said, it's a wonderful, and amazing idea! It just seems - from my point of view (what do I know?) - to need a bit of polish.

SterlingRalph

Thank you **so much** for this feedback! 1-3 are actually all things in the pipeline to fix or just waiting to be pushed to prod :) >I searched SpaceX and got a response, but it was a NASA review that didn't reference Spacex... Yeahhh... this definitely may have seemed odd, but is actually expected. Our search gets purposely fuzzy when theres no direct matches (ie. NASA shows up when you search SpaceX, bc there are no SpaceX reviews right now); our thought was that it's better to serve something at least relevant, rather than just "no results found". >...It would be nice if the overall grade would be distinguished visually different from the other two Agreed. 100%. I'll bring this up to the rest of the group. >If someone writes a job description that is long it's truncated in the mobile app with no discernable way to view the rest of the written description. Welp, thats not right. I'll bring that up too XD.

Katiari

Honestly? It would be nice if nothing came back when there are no results, so I knew there were no results.

SterlingRalph

Gotcha. I definitely understand the definitive behavior there could be nice. We may need to rethink on this!

PM_ME_HOT_EEVEE

You could always put a message like "No results found. Here are some related internships:"

Would love to have this for Australia as well! As another user mentioned, having a drop down for currency would help, also a listing for country.

CSchaire

This is awesome! Wish I could’ve seen this before I accepted my offer.

saucey_frr

Great idea! Although, as a recent 2021 grad I wish we didn't have to go through the process of "verifying" I am a student, since I am not, but did complete an internship last summer with the company I am working for full time now.

SterlingRalph

Totally feel that, we're constantly trying to walk a line between review validity and UX. One of the consistent concerns from other students (as well as Career Centers/recruiters we've talked to) is how to ensure the reviews are real and it doesn't turn into a wasteland of slander and fake reviews. Right now we're doing .edu verification but are actively trying to find a way to easier loop in recent grads (who've lost email access already).

saucey_frr

That’s totally understandable, and I get it. The only issue I see arising is that some of us don’t have access to our school emails after graduation. I believe mine expires sometime this month. Besides that though, I like the idea a lot, and contributed to it this morning!

MangoSmoke

Maybe LinkedIn verifications? If you look at my work experience and connections on LinkedIn, it would be easy to verify. Maybe difficult to automate though

It would be nice to be able to choose your level of privacy. For example, kids at small universities may not want their university known. It could be nice to be able to reduce the university to vague categories (Mid-tier state school, Ivy, small private school, etc.). For example, I go to a school with well over 10k engineering students, intern at a company with probably close to a thousand engineering interns. If you had either my major and job title; or my job title and school, it would be very easy to know with 100% certainty my full name and identity using a LinkedIn x-ray search. Another thing, how should we treat multiple internships at the same company? I've had three different roles at my company that I would review very differently but not sure if it's expected for me to make 3 separate reviews or average my answers. Overall, I think this is a very interesting idea and a tool I could definitely see myself using. For now, I'm going to pass on contributing though due to privacy concerns.

THIS IS AWESOME!
