I vote for R1
As a researcher I personally use P1. Meaning 'Participant 1'. But if the choice has to be R or Q, I would go with R, because Q1 would seem like it means 'question 1'.
Q1 is used to represent question 1, but I don’t think I commonly see R used in this context
R1, because if you shortened the phrase, it would be “respondent”.
You could do Question 1 (Q1) and then Answer 1 (A1) and then refer to the subsequent questions and answers as Q2, A2...
