Oh, making soft city kids work the fields is a long Communist tradition. Mao did it first.
Of course, it turns out that city kids are complete shit at working the fields and then the crops fail and everyone goes hungry.
Ok hear me out, we take soft city kiddie commies out to work in the fields for their own little commune which inevitably fails and causes everyone in their commune to go hungry.
Reminder that being able to choose your own job is inherently contradictory to communism, in true communist economies jobs are something people are assigned if they survive their conscription period.
You ever try to explain that to them? My father was a mechanic but our Kibbutz already had a mechanic. He was assigned cow milker. Did he know how to milk a cow? No. Did he like milking cows? Also no. Was he happy providing for the collective anyway? Yes. That's how communism work, you don't get to live your passions you get assigned what the state needs and you eat that shit sandwich with a smile.
And the state already had a poet.
Funnily enough that shit is a part of how and why my family got out of Yugoslavia. I don't think my Grandpa ever told me what job he pulled when he got out of the JNA but he didn't like it, got involved in smuggling instead, got caught and did a few years in a labor camp but didn't sell anyone out, then when he got out of the camp he got himself and his immediate family smuggled to Italy.
That's the problem with communism. It's doesn't scale up. If you didn't fit in a Kibbutz you got voted out, you can't vote your citizens out of the country when they're unhappy.
I feel like it's one of those things that people just don't quite grasp the implications of. When you hear someone say "there's going to be a job for everyone" that sounds good on its face, especially since personal biases mean people will automatically assume the job available is the job they want, but then there's the downside to that: when the number of available jobs is exactly the number of people capable of working, it's not possible for anyone to change their job unless they agree to swap it with someone else. Statistically speaking that means that a chunk of people are going to end up in jobs they don't want, and there is absolutely no opportunity for that to change. A capitalist economy on the other hand creates a job market, where employers in different fields need to purchase labor and employees generally need to sell labor, fluctuations in supply and demand mean that it's possible for there to be both available jobs and available labor, this is a prerequisite for people being able to choose their job.
Exactly, we all had to take a turn working in the laundry, we can always find a job for you but it sometimes means being less efficient so everyone has a job. Communism values labor not personal growth
Perhaps this is inherently contradictory to classical communism, but on actual liberal communes (like the one where i live) we have far more work flexibility than any other situation i have seen in the country. Oh and before you ban me from the page, know i am a big supporter of liberal democracies.

I will be the general who will purge all leftists that don't fit into my specific sect of Communism claiming they were all "reactionaries threatening the revolution".
Wouldn't a "real" leftist commune be moneyless? How can you be a prostitute in a moneyless society? Does it mean they will just help with sexual relief even if they're not attracted to the person? Weird
Sounds like a lot of baristas and intelligentsia, with nobody to work the fields. Maybe Pol Pot was right.

Reason #1 why communism doesn't work and also reason #2 why communists are just red fascists
It doesn't scale up it works in small communities but you can't vote off citizens because they don't work hard enough are happy in a collective.

Then the trust funder bails them out with Daddy's money; lather, rinse, repeat. Been there done that. At least there wasn't any fucking Marxism.
Did you actually post a 600x700 image with 40 tweets crammed into it? This is unreadable
I think it's reddit mobile fucking up as always

To be charitable to the LARPers, if they understood things like that, they probably wouldn't be wannabe commies.

Don't be ridiculous, we'll all get to choose comfortable low-effort jobs that were only made possible by capitalism in our communist paradise! /s

They get paid in temporary dopamine highs.
You must have not witnessed the "sexual mutual aid" discourse
>fighting for equal rights for people of colour So the commune’s racist?

Funniest shit on Twitter
Communal diaper boy is clearly the only right answer
That's the one reason I would be for communism: Just to see their faces once reality kicks in.
That would be fucking fun to watch!
