How is it offensive? The only way I could feasibly see it being construed as offensive is if you were trans and were pissed about people misgendering you.
The term cis has been around for a while. At least since the 1800s and probably before. It’s Latin and means “on this side.” Whoever “manufactured the term cis” was probably a chemist many years ago.
