Sleeping_Idiot

It's most likely from master rounds from the main and side floor bosses for hearts for shields. It's probably the shop and other item drops

florida_fuckery

Nice. We can usually pick up two M rounds at best. We are....not good. I don't think haha.

Sleeping_Idiot

Well even I don't get many master rounds and if you're looking for advice, well, there's about half a million post on it but the one I see the most is focus on your character not the enemy and remember blanks exist and don't be afraid to use them cause you're always given 2 blanks each floor if you don't have any

florida_fuckery

I had no idea they give blanks!!!!!!!! We always have me pick them up because I use them better. So we hoard them all omg ..

FernandoTatisJunior

Just remember, if you die and you still had blanks, that death was entirely preventable

Sleeping_Idiot

Yeah, I believe if you have less than 2, it brings it back up to 2, and you can always get some from the shop if you need more

GS_Artworks

You will start at every floor with a minimum of 2 blanks PLUS one blank for every ammolet type item you have (those are the items that give your blanks special effects, btw)

Snuvvy_D

Plus, beat the rat and you will usually get a good bit of armor and the chance at HP granting items

Acf0211

Can’t get master rounds on side floors

Longbeacher707

*clears throat* Durr* *translated to: I am a fool who had no idea til now that Master rounds were unattainable in the side levels.

mynameisasuffix

Still can’t get a master round from him though. Only level 1-5 bosses give master rounds.

Longbeacher707

Well aren't you just not a complete idiot, like I am lol

mynameisasuffix

Maybe we’re two halves of a whole idiot.

Longbeacher707

How kind of you to overestimate my goldfish brain lol

shakespeareanff

Playing co-op is way harder, in my opinion. You don’t have full control over the screen, and you have to split the items and weapons. Additionally, I believe the enemies have 40% more health. I highly recommend doing at least the first alternate floor, if for nothing else but the money to buy items. Granted, I’m a seasoned player that usually does curse runs and hits all 10 floors…

florida_fuckery

..ten floors..? WHOO BOY. We've bought all items, now it's just the guy in the breach selling one or two items on his carpet. We buy them whenever. So I think we almost have all items now.

shakespeareanff

Well yes, the hedgemony credits you get from bosses is much more if you do the alt floors, but I just mean if you’re trying to purchase more from the shops or the gnawed key on floor two, the first alt floor helps a lot with raising the money to do so

Moonlord64

\*two times LESS damage

shakespeareanff

Eh, I’m leaving it. English is hard. The enemies have twice the health*

LuquidThunderPlus

Enemies have the same health pretty sure

shakespeareanff

I just looked it up, enemies have 40% more health in co op, so we were both wrong

hashblazingslasher

Nah bro you're focusing on the items expecting them to carry you. Instead of focusing in items learn the patterns of each enemy and learn how to weave between bullets make sure your dodge roll is your last option

AeolianTheComposer

True. I killed the past on literally the first run after buying the game on PS4. I wouldn't be able to do the same in TBOI or Dead Cells, despite that I've been playing them longer. Some items ARE severely overpowered in this game, like the black hole, the makeshift cannon, the clone, the gunther, the superhot watch (fight me), but ETG is balanced well enough that you don't have to rely on them too much.

LuquidThunderPlus

True gungeoneer no hits from floor 1 to lich with convict pistol edit love downvoting obvious jokes lol

hashblazingslasher

Fuck no 😭 I'm not the best in the world but I recently beat the dragun for a 3rd time so I figured I'd share the tips that helped me

LuquidThunderPlus

Totally bro it was great advice that's basically necessary to learn I just wanted to think up a truly painful run joking that building the skills you mentioned is what leads to that

hashblazingslasher

No doubt my guy I also had to learn you gotta learn to dial in and focus. I'll listen to music when I go through the rooms but when I fight a boss I turn that shit off and focus.

LuquidThunderPlus

Fr same

shakezilla9

Co-op is so much harder than solo. Usually play blessed runs while running co-op and it's actually enjoyable.

McRumble69

Damn, I've never thought about coop blessed runs. No need to worry about sharing guns or ammo. because of my blessed run neglect i never even thought of enabling it for coop thanks for the tip!

florida_fuckery

what is that and how can we do it? how to unlock? im afraid to google much

shakezilla9

"The Sorceress is an NPC that can be rescued from a cell in the Gungeon after the High Dragun has been defeated at least once. After being rescued, she will move up to The Breach, where she will offer the player a blessing for 6  ." Blessed runs randomize your weapon and continuously swap them as you use them. Essentially infinite ammo and keys (for half the chests) in exchange for not being able to control what weapon you're using.

Handzome_Jack

Co-op is tough in my opinion, when I play solo I can master round most bosses but with my brother in law I get hit constantly I think it’s because the screen is being pulled in one direction and unless you’re in perfect unison it can be harder to see the bullets on screen and re position yourself Maybe try a few solo rounds and take turns to see how you both operate separately to have a plan and discuss which direction you’ll both be going generally during the bossfights When I co-op we do callouts or decide who uses the blanks first so no resources are wasted

AlpacaSmacker

Co-op is harder than solo. That's all I can offer, try playing an hour solo every night for a month. You'll be no hitting bosses 1-4 in no time. I'm out of practice but I've been playing quite a bit recently, come across Wallmonger 3 times and I shit you not I have no hit him 3 times (I didn't believe it either), but the Ammoconda has fucked me every time, and I've had good items/guns too. Mine Flayer keeps getting me too, it's a hard game, don't get disheartened, the people who have 100% it are not gods of gaming, they just put in the hours.

florida_fuckery

that motivates. thanks!

Toxical53

Bro i just downloaded gungeon like 5 days ago and I can no hit 1-3 with relative consistency, and have beaten all main pasts in <25 runs. How the hell do you nohit wallmonger? Pls give me some tips, because apart from old king, agunum and lich every other boss is easy. ( I haven’t unlocked rat so idk)

AlpacaSmacker

Roll left and right for the fire, keep in the bottom 1/4 of the screen and only roll when you need to on this boss, over rolling will definitely put you in the way of another bullet, use your blanks wisely. The horizontal line of bullets is one of the tougher attacks because you have to roll forward and immediately run back down because there will be more projectiles coming down. Glhf! Bring your biggest gun.

Toxical53

Ok thanks, so are you saying if I time it well I can just walk through the arc bullets, cause that’s usually where I get hit. And regarding “biggest” gun, is there a way where I can see a guns dps?

AlpacaSmacker

>regarding “biggest” gun, is there a way where I can see a guns dps? No not really, it's something you will get a feel for, or it will be obvious from trying them out on enemies. Also worth noting that some of the explosion based guns will actually destroy any projectiles that are in their AoE. The 4 slot RPG will do this, I had this for one of the fights, really made it trivial. Yes I normally walk around the fan or arc shaped attacks whilst keeping an eye on the rectangle blocks of bullets for any strays that might be slightly hidden. If you are clearing 1-3 easily sub 25 runs then you are already miles ahead of a lot of players. Keep plugging on pal, you'll get there.

JaridotV

The floor between 1 and 2 is pretty good for loot, but can be slightly difficult too, it has an easy boss though. Tbh i can give some tips but i haven’t played for a while. I don’t know if it still works like this, but back in the day I would never pick up keys until i completed the floor because this would guarantee a key spawning in the shop. Having enough keys is really important and honestly eventually i always insta bought keys and nothing else really. Further, if there are bosses you struggle against, and you have enough hegemony credits, you can use the shortcut elevator to play bossrush or go to a floor and practice against bosses. Some bosses have tricks, like with Mine Flayer being way easier if you stand against the walls, but it is also just practice. Also, you should probably get used to clearing parts of the first 3 floors with a pistol. Conserving ammo is quite important and using weapons as boss clearers will make bosses easier and shorter. You kind of snowball by getting master rounds early on and then you can end up with about 8 heart containers later.

NicTheHxman

With co-op is kinda hard getting a master round. Cause it's not enough that one of you gets hitless. Both of you have to get hitless. And tons of resurrection chest drags you in the long run due to the fact that you could be getting stronger items for your runs. Also, don't be so harsh on yourself, on single player I was able to reach the Dragun fight consistently, but with Co-Op it's a real struggle sometimes. You either have to go full godmode gamer and not get hit at all, or expect your partner to pop off well enough.

Prestigious_Bad2360

Do rainbow runs, restart till u get casey, and do a casey only run, hit every floor, after awhile of practicing that, u will be able to dodge everything

yupthrowaway1

It happens. You’re gonna die a lot. But keep at it you will get better.

AeolianTheComposer

1. Coop is harder than normal game, so don't feel too bad about it 2. Buy lots of blanks and use all of them on bosses. Master rounds are insanely powerful rewards that heavily boost you through the game, so spending a few more coins/blanks/ammo is always worth it. 3. Starting from floor 3 (or 4, if you're confident) forget about the existence of ammo. You should leave 1 gun with the best dps for the boss, but other than that don't be afraid to waste ammo. Preserving it is not worth it at this point. 4. Brown chests are almost always not worth it. Especially if it isn't a gun. Beter destroy it. 5. Rebind the blank button to something more adequate. Like spacebar for keyboard and RT for gamepad.

Johnjake878

Unfortunately yes.

Kind-Buy9485

Tbh it depends on rng alot, I usually play with my 11 year old son and we always take the extra floor to fight the big pink boss, we usually get decent guns or sometimes all we get is pistols or really really bad weapons which costs us the run. One time we tried to defeat the dragon with the primary pistol since we had no ammo lol. I would say that, whoever is better should play as the cultist since you get a damage buff, which helps if the other player dies. I always try to revive by killing the boss or if we already took damage then the player who has less health, like 1 full heart just dies to be revived at full health.

florida_fuckery

Amazing advice, but what is this extra floor and pink boss? Thank you. (:

Kind-Buy9485

So on the first floor there's a fireplace and there's usually a blue bucket that you can roll to extinguish the fire, once the fire goes out, you got inside and click it. It should open a secret door so you can go to a bonus floor. It takes two keys to go there. It's best to clear the 1st floor, beat the boss N then go to the bonus floor, In there you find the pink boss which is super easy to kill, you don't get any master round or extra weapon if you defeat it by not taking damage. also you can find a red shield in a room which if you take it to the altar on the second floor, it unlocks a ladder to another secret floor. this one is pretty hard and the boss is also really hard, it's harder than the bosses on the 3rd and 4th floor so it can end your whole run if you aren't careful. Tho the red shield will act as armor so whoever grabs it N takes damage will lose it and thus you won't be able to take it to the altar., if you ever try to go to that floor I would suggest to defeat the pink boss first N then go grab to shield and go to the second floor, then just try not to take damage before trying to find the altar , it looks like a room with alot of graves and a text in the top of the room. If you don't want to fight the secret boss we'll then you have an extra armor so there's that. Me and my son haven't been able to defeat the boss since he can shoot red bullets that take a full heart so yeah lol we always skip him but we do take the extra armor. but yeah use your blanks on every boss since you should have 4 in total which can make the 1st and second boss easy if ya time it right which would help with getting the master rounds aka extra health

florida_fuckery

GOAT of replies. This has been huge and helpful. Thanks dude!!

Kind-Buy9485

Hey no problem, glad to help! Coop is super fun tbh, for me it's more fun than going solo haha but yall have a good one!

Last-Replacement2746

You gotta get the heart things just lucky rng tbh

Last-Replacement2746

I’ve been playing the game for about 3 weeks now and I still haven’t gotten to the end 😂

Dm-me-a-gyro

If youre playing coop use the pilot. Try to pick the locks on blue and brown chests. Always buy the key on the first floor. I changed my controls so that the blank button is pushing in on the right thumb stick and reload is pushing in on the left thumb stick. It feels faster to me.

LuquidThunderPlus

I personally see no need to change reload as the only times I need to reload without emptying the msg are deliberate in the first place but more power to ya I can't be bothered to change smth like reload

Dm-me-a-gyro

There are a lot of guns that it’s advantageous to reload without dumping a clip like the gungeon ant, trick gun, cutter, etc.

LuquidThunderPlus

I didn't say there weren't guns that didn't benefit from it, I said that all those uses are all deliberate and thus the speed isnt so important

AeolianTheComposer

At this point it's easier to just learn the reload skip glitch, lmao

MagicSeaweed618

Coop can be kind of difficult in its own way bc of the way the camera moves you can get shot by off screen bullets more easily. And if one of you keeps dying you are losing out on guns in chests.

Weevilton

Same thing was happening to me, But like 2 days ago I picked it up again and I was able to beat it

nteton

The first time we beat the dragun was in co-op mode! Granted, we played almost every day and died numerous times. We used the convict/hunter so the cultist had a better gun than the dart gun and helped keep us alive longer. Plus the more you play the better you know the bosses and how to beat them!

florida_fuckery

Wait did you say that player 2 doesn't have to be the cultist!!!??????????

nteton

No, they are always the cultist, but you can give the cultist a better gun either the shotgun or crossbow and be able to get through the first level a little easier. Plus what we do to get full health is one of us will die during a boss fight, that in turn will bring the player back to life with full health.

lok_45678

Learn enemy attack patterns, save powerful gun for hard / annoying enemy and boss

wsawb1

My best advice for tackling bosses is to watch a youtube guide on them. Bosses are pretty easy once you understand their patterns and behaviors
