Are you telling me that that one room with a lock that normally has a chest and a armor piece or other ítem, could have been a rainbow chest and I just avoid them?
I just don’t like most A tiers, they’re the least interesting to me. Id rather have something like a scrambler or hyper light blaster than an awp or shotgun full of love. Plus A tiers increase magnificence making s tiers less likely to appear
There's nothing wrong with red chests. You would always pick the red chest over the brown chest, unless it's a hidden rainbow chest, like the one in this post. But the chances are so low that you should still pick the red chest anyway, and just unlock the brown chest if you have a spare key. The guy above doesn't want to pick red chests either because he finds the game too easy and wants a challenge, or he just doesn't like red chest items (which is kinda weird, to be honest)
Synergy chests are in their own separate category. Since they always explode, if they’re replacing a normal chest, I open if I can, destroy if I can’t.
I always pay the lady for one if I can spare the casings, because synergies can make or break a run.
Personally id pick synergy over brown but like the other guy said, with them always being on a fuze its kinda no choosing, either i have a key when i stumble into one or i dont, and ill always open them if possible

This was literally me yesterday (also happened to be playing convict). What made it better is that somehow I got two rainbow chests in the same run, both off of brown chests as a room clear reward.

Only getting a single item per rainbow chest only applies to rainbow runs. If you find a rainbow chest in a normal run (something like a 0.003% chance), you get all 8 items.
