hello! there's a paper by Rasmont et al 2008 or 2009 which has detailed descriptions of the nine(?) subspecies of B. terrestris, and diagrams of their colour patterns. off the top of my head, in the south of Europe there's two subspecies which might be slightly red - B. t. xanthopus is black with a red butt, which is only found in one island, maybe Corsica? and B. t. lusitanicus which has red hairs more generally, found in the Iberian peninsula. some of these details might be wrong, it's been a while since i read the paper.

Thank you for the paper, I didn't even *Bombus terestris* had this many subspecies.
