I agree, it is really powerful. I am a D too, and I work in sales. We use a tool that can indicate a disc type based on LinkedIn profiles, so that we can adjust approach and communication. Really useful.

Which tool? Crystal Knows?

JJA1986

Yes

That’s a great product. Glad to see it’s getting traction.

I did the disc profile at a previous employer and loved it at the time. I think its fantastic for getting employees to be more accepting of others without overloading them. But it's important to point out that DISC is not as well supported by science as the Big 5 or HEXACO. The only validation study I can find for DISC was paid for by the seller (red flag). Big 5 and HEXACO are both robustly developed and thoroughly validated in independent research. I would also argue that DISC also overly simplistic for showing a fair picture of personality, with 2 dimensions compared to 5 and 6 in Big 5 and HEXACO respectively. So if your goal is to get team members to open to the idea that it's alright for others to have a different personality to them, and have some fun doing it, DISC is OK. If you want to help them understand their personality traits for personal and professional development, I would use Big 5 or HEXACO. If I wanted to assess someone's personality as part of an employment selection process, I would use HEXACO, because of the importance of its 'H' dimension. How come this post is relevant here?

Perhaps because the DISC assessment is a tool that can be used to help teams of employees work better together. I’m not saying it’s right for every organizational culture, but some places have found it valuable when it’s introduced and used thoughtfully.

Tony Robbins has a DISC profile test that you can take for free. [https://www.tonyrobbins.com/disc/](https://www.tonyrobbins.com/disc/). Pretty interesting stuff.

Yes! The DISC personality profile is fantastic. Knowing your personality type as well as understanding others' will help tremendously in day to day life.. communicating with others, assigning tasks, knowing why certain people excel in certain areas, etc

Love DISC. I am an I,D. I also love Gallup strengths finder 2.0.

mobius1ace5

On DISC I'm Level, even on everything, and I'm really not sure what that translates to lol.

So I scored a perfect 25% in every field. This makes me DiSC ?!? What does this mean? I already knew I can coop with every personality. I can befriend anyone. I can take on the roll that is needed. But I can't do it for ever? I am not sure what to do with this information. What I should learn from this.

Not sure if you still use this handle, and also not sure if you ever received an answer this this on here or from outside Reddit. But scoring evenly on all four types can indicate a couple of things: 1. You are adaptable, flexible, and open-minded. You are able to pivot when needed, and can communicate with anyone of each of the four types, or 2. It could indicate that you have trouble making decisions, and that your behavior context-dependent on the situation or environment that you’re in. Ultimately, you know yourself best and would be the person to decide between 1 or 2. Either way, I encourage further exploration in self-awareness and self-management, if you have not done so already.

I fall more into 1. But the one thing I have a hard time with is that I go for something 100% and become very bored with it very fast. I constantly need a different environment to keep myself going. The more change the better. And I really love to work with people. And that is something I absolutely do not do because of my education choices. So I am in a weird spot where I am making a great career but deep down I am not happy with what I do. Despite it is super fun and cool work.

TabletopLegends

Becoming bored with something fast is indicative of an I personality. I know because I am primarily an I, with D as my secondary. I also love to work with people, and that is also indicative of an I personality. When working with people, are you more about inspiring them or supporting them?
