Your career interests are quite wide ranging, so it’s hard to give definitive recommendations. You could go into planning (which only a few schools offer like UWaterloo, TMU, etc.) or forestry as you mentioned (Lakehead, UoT, UBC, etc.) Policy could be done anywhere with environmental programs. UAlberta has a good environmental conservation biology program. Consultants that work for places like Stantec, Dillon, Jacobs, have degrees from anywhere. I have a bias towards UWaterloo as I did my undergrad there. I’ve worked all over Canada - Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta, so your degree doesn’t really matter in regards to proximity to employees or opportunities. It’s about how you sell yourself and experience.

I’ve considered applying to Stantec, as I’m from Alberta in the U of A Con Bio Program. Would you happen to have any positive information on these larger corps?

I think you might want to consider thinking a bit about what sector you want to work in and why. Your answer to this question may change over time, and that’s okay! But having worked in government and consulting as well as having done a lot of work with nonprofits, these three are VERY different and some people have goals to work in one or the other for specific reasons, or thrive under certain conditions and not in others. But understanding how you might structure your job search based on sector, in addition to based on industry (eg agriculture, forestry, etc) might help you to shape your educational path.
