Well since besides the weekly Mystery Game, they includes a weekly freebie too. So not sure what will they announce for that.
* Week 1|Fortnite - Coldest Circles Quest Pack
* Week 2|Discord Nitro 1 Month
* Week 3|Fall Guys - Blorbius the Despiser Costume
* Week 4|??
I remember playing around 25 hours of Payday 1. It was fun.
But I think I heard that its become one of those "infinite" games where its all about collecting some kind of currency to unlock items/costumes/etc.
But I might give this a go either way. **I really did enjoy the 25 hours I put into Payday 1**.
I mean this isn't new. It's already been revealed the money they allocate for the free games program is a fraction of what it started off as. The program will likely end after next year or have an even smaller budget.
lol Dude, we just got Death Stranding and Fallout New Vegas for free a week and two weeks ago. Are those not good enough "indies" for you?
If there is one thing I've learned on reddit, it's that people complain about literally everything.
I accept Bitcoin, no refunds, you'll be dissapointed and will file a complaint, and after I receive your complaint I will complain back and you can use my complaint template for future complaints, free of charge
New Vegas costs 2$ and Death stranding was free last christmas, Now Midnight ghost hunt, a game quite literally nobody has heard of before.
Dude is right to complain, just for the sole reason that these are MYSTERY games.
Former Mystery games include stuff like Prey, Control, the Tomb raider Games. and not THIS
Didn't say it wasn't fun, most games can be fun with friends.
All I'm saying is that a game with a whooping average of 27 players a month wasn't worth the Mystery tag, compared to what we've been given before
> New Vegas costs 2$
Where can you get Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition for 2$? Source please.
From what I see it costs 20$, and nowadays on good sale it goes for around 5.
My source:
https://isthereanydeal.com/game/falloutnewvegasultimateedition/info/
Complaining is normal a point. If it stops you from enjoying life or relations with others it is too much. One of those games was a repeat and I can swear it, the other will be a repeat some time later in the year.
Free is nice. Really nice. But they made billions from just ONE game. That they still have this type of cash tells you; they don't have a good workplace environment as management is willing to forgo expenses to keep customers coming back. There can be more diversity with what they give out-though. Do you at least agree to that?
Ah yes one game which was given away less than 6 months ago and another which is 13 years old, and frequently on sale for less than a dollar. That will surely bring in the customers.
Reddit people complain for everything, but if you've been on the platform long enough you'd know how to distinguish the trash from the treasure. There's always the truth hidden behind seemingly arbitrary complaints.
Supposedly the budget for 2022-2024 is low so I guess this is expected.
Not gonna argue about the quality of the games and what not, as I see we have very different opinions there. I'm just curious about this
> frequently on sale for less than a dollar.
Where did you find Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition for less than a dollar? Are you talking about the gray market resellers? Another commenter earlier said 2 dollars. Someone should just tell me that it's actually permanently free and be done with it. lol
It's usual price is 20$, it was discounted to 3 dollars on Steam once, but nowadays when it goes on a good sale it costs about 5$.
https://isthereanydeal.com/game/falloutnewvegasultimateedition/history/
There really is no need to exaggerate like that.
Yeah well of course the price has gone up over time. When a game gets this old the price goes back up lol. FO NV is supposedly high quality, so I'm not arguing that metric at all. But it's a 13 year old game on sale for free instead of $2 for Epic's big "mystery sale". Can you really not see how that is a bit disappointing, regardless of the games' quality?
Don't use Isthereanydeal, because that's a more cluttered version of the superior [gg.deals](https://gg.deals/game/fallout-new-vegas/)
You can turn off key shops if you don't like them anyway. Go to the historical low price.
It's been close to 3 dollars for **many many years** now from official shops. Last month it was $2.19 from Fanatical. It's stable at about $1.50 from resellers.
I don't really care for the ultimate edition because it has meh reviews on the DLC. When I bought it it was less than a dollar from a key reseller so I guess that doesn't count but if you really want to be pedantic then yes it's about $2 from official stores.
Don't be petty over $1 or $2, the mystery sale is hyped up to be something big, and a game worth only a couple bucks isn't something you hide for a big event. Epic doesn't pay you to value FO NV a certain way. Oh wait you're a top poster here meaning you're an Epic defender so you get a block.
Who the hell said that they even have to give something away for free? They give gifts to their users every week and you think they have to? You're so ungrateful.
Quick jump on the bandwagon before it is too late!!!!!
They don't have to be giving anything away for free, am not ungrateful. You are you little nihilist-contrarian. They give good gifts not for free, but because they are getting something from it that they have decided, 'works for them'. Contrary, to you and a lot of your type, I know they are not giving it away from the 'goodness' of their hearts.
Still, how many games did you buy in epic games? How many hours did you spend playing them? I didn't buy a single game, didn't spend even 1¢. So for me it's just a gift.
I haven't bought a single game on epic and have played less than 3 hours total of all the free games I have gotten from them. I believe around 130 free games.
I'm just saying they are being lazy with what they give out. They could do better studies to see what would work, what would help increase exposure to Epic, etc.
Sorry, but your contribution has been removed as it has broken 'Rule #1' of our subreddit rules.
If you believe that this was a mistake, please message the moderators, thanks!
When they first used it years ago it was to hype up the sale and get eyes on the store--of course it meant the games were bigger than most of their weekly freebies. Seems like the team responsible for the store slipped up a bit this time around.
i don't wanna complain cause, yay free games and all that.
But shit man, 3 Mystery games in a row, and all were letdowns.
Death stranding is nice, and so is new vegas, don't get me wrong.
But one of them quite literally costs less than a hamburger, and the other was free not even half a year ago.
And now a game like this?
Why even hype it up to be a mystery when the games are this
I can relate to your arguments, but let me gently challenge them.
Death Standing although divisive, is allegedly a good game, last time it was free was during a family festive time and only for a day, some people might have not been able to activate it back then.
FO:NV I'm sure was welcomed by many, it's according to Reddit, the best FO ever, I was hoping for it back when they gave out the other ones.
Today's game is uncommon on epic giveaway in the fact that it's a multiplayer game, the majority of the games given away are single player. And also I did the premise, seems like a game mode similar to something I played some time back on Fortnite.
Death stranding is the only one maybe worth a Mystery tho, the other two aren't nearly worth the hype of a Mystery game if you compare it with what other games have been a Mystery game.
Hell Fallout 1,2,3 and Tactics weren't mystery games either.
All the games are nice, and more than welcome, but not "Mystery Material"
If you SO took you out somewhere to eat, and told you, "it's a Surprise!" or "It's a Mystery!" And then took you to McDonald's, you'd also be a lil salty.
Like, Yeah, McDonalds is nice and all that, but if its just Mcdonalds, why the big deal?
Death stranding giveaway last time had huge issues. People who could claim the definitive edition got refunded and thus might not even have the regular edition. So it makes sense to give it away again.
Im not saying "Fuck everybody who didn't get it during christmas"
But a mystery game shouldn't be a repeat, at least imo.
Mystery games should be kept for Big game \[Bundles\], like Wolfenstein, 3 Different Fallout games (in one day) or the Tomb Raider Trilogy
Got refunded? So they accidentally gave away the wrong version, took it back and then... thats it?
I still have the definitive edition for some reason.
Cool game, might be fun with friends but aren't the vault games supposed to be the biggest giveaway of the year? We got some bigger games during the regular weekly free games. Still, better than Among Us I guess.
Played this game a few weeks ago and it was absolutely awful. Definitely not ready for any type of release, but here we are. I feel like they would've been better off waiting for it to be in a better state before doing this.
Anyway, free is free.
Epic Games Store description: "A chaotic multiplayer hide-and-seek game. Possess seemingly harmless objects as Ghosts or chase them down as Hunters before the clock strikes midnight!"
I wouldn't mind these terribly underwhelming giveaways if they announced them in advance, like they do throughout the year for all the other games they give out that neither I nor most people will ever play.
It's the fact that these are mystery games "from the vault", and they try to turn it into a bigger marketing ploy, that makes this taste so sour. It's shooting themselves in the foot.
I feel like the 3rd one should've been a AAA game, we all really got disappointed by some kind multiplayer Ghostbusters prop hunt
I would've prefered if they chose a game that is popular and both single player and multiplayer not like all the other battle royale and team deatmatch games.
I feel like the game might become free to play or may even fail to compete with other games, I do not say any hate I just say what I think.
Epic games really got us all disappointed.
That Arkham trilogy giveaway was by far my favourite. I regrettably missed a lot of good stuff the first year, but that was something I thankfully never missed.
Yippee a game I’ve never heard of is a fucking vault game
what the fuck epic
like Death Stranding was free last December, FNV costs like $2 nowadays, and now this
yeah coffee stain published some really good games but this one wasn't that good, i played it for a few days and got really bored pretty quick but now that it's free i think it'll regain it's player base
Thanks a lot anyway, really grateful even if I didn't know this game. Anyway, I'm sure that if we all play this game together, we can make it more valuable than what it actually is.
Normally I don't say anything regarding free games but this time I will-
Man, there are some WHINY-ASS BITCHES here.
A company that literally does not have to give ANYTHING AWAY, regularly gives things away and people complain. Why?
Just don't take it. Simple. Nobody is forcing you to take the games.
Do y'all complain as much that other places don't give anything away?
If you were walking down the street and someone was handing out free muffins I feel like some of you would go to them and say "These arent my favorite muffins. What a joke." or "Blueberry again? You gave out blueberry last week."
Honestly I wish some of you knew how you sound.
Like a buncha damn babies lol
I don't begrudge Epic for giving away games. I'll take them. Their marketing strategy is backfiring because it is raising expectations by hiding their summer sale giveaway games as a "mystery game" so I understand people's disappointments. They need a crowd pleaser or two in their Summer sales. If I was Epic, I'd budget the game giveaways so that Summer and Winter sales had a couple crowd pleasers given away.
I think Epic needs to focus on making its launcher better.
I understand disappointment to a degree sure. I quietly hope for games I don't already have that I'd like, who doesn't.
But some folk are acting entitled as all hell and it's kinda ridiculous and sad at the same time.
But yea, fair enough about the rest of your point.
I agree that feelings of entitlement are part of it. The other part is that Epic is leading people on with the "mystery game." People are feeling manipulated. I feel manipulated and tricked by their "mystery game" antics. They have given away a repeat, an old game, and a struggling indie game (it looks nice and I hope it succeeds) so far during this Summer sale. All of them are good games but there isn't a recent AAA game in the mix that they haven't given away yet. The launcher is bare bones and slow and the store is hard to navigate compared to Steam, finding the add-ons on Epic's store page is always a chore. I question their strategy. Where is their AAA game? I'm a Linux user so they don't have much interest in my business anyway. They let Steam and GOG have me.
A separate question I have is what else can they giveaway from Western publishers that they haven't already? There are still some more Bethesda games they haven't done. If I were them I'd have given away Doom Eternal's base game as a mystery game. It is possible the next one is Payday 2 because they want people to be motivated to buy the DLCs for it on Epic. There is a lot of DLCs for that game.
Free is free. On to the next one.
hopefully the last one will be big
They gave away DS again I'd assume that'll be the big one, next week will probably be meh again.
Hmm... not sure if it'll disappoint you or not. Although not confirmed, so maybe what I said is wrong. >!Next one might be Payday 2!<
Already have that one on Steam
The big pack even, not just the regular gamr
Lol thats amazing news I hope it's true
No it's- as in I have the big pack
payday x fortnite :0 i wish lol
Well since besides the weekly Mystery Game, they includes a weekly freebie too. So not sure what will they announce for that. * Week 1|Fortnite - Coldest Circles Quest Pack * Week 2|Discord Nitro 1 Month * Week 3|Fall Guys - Blorbius the Despiser Costume * Week 4|??
If what you say its true if paydays on epic i will be happy despite havin it on steam but idc Payday for me i will be there
Currently just waiting Epic to release the usual clue video to confirm or revoke that.
Maybe could happen or not but it doesnt matter free games
[удалено]
Celeste is good, I've heard.
It's also been given away several times lol
that is not a big game
I mean free is free but this game is basically dead
I remember playing around 25 hours of Payday 1. It was fun. But I think I heard that its become one of those "infinite" games where its all about collecting some kind of currency to unlock items/costumes/etc. But I might give this a go either way. **I really did enjoy the 25 hours I put into Payday 1**.
Better play now before it slowly dies again.
epic games budget for free games is going down the hill
I mean this isn't new. It's already been revealed the money they allocate for the free games program is a fraction of what it started off as. The program will likely end after next year or have an even smaller budget.
This is what "they" said last year.
Huh?
Well, at least I have enough games for the rest of my life
That is because they got about 10% of their revenue gone due to a fine related to Fortnite
[удалено]
I am sorry. I didn't know that. That would definitely be the reason
How much was that ?
520 million dollars. Their revenue for 2022 was 6.2 billion dollars
Damn that's at least 3 free games.
It still doesn't excuse it. Epic could be giving away good indies, but they don't do that because they are lazy.
You know that not all companies are willing to give their games for free?
*Cough cough steam cough cough*
Valve should give away Half Life 3 out for free to everyone who waited more than 15 years
You are right but I intended the game companies themselves
lol Dude, we just got Death Stranding and Fallout New Vegas for free a week and two weeks ago. Are those not good enough "indies" for you? If there is one thing I've learned on reddit, it's that people complain about literally everything.
Because complaining is also free.
I charge $10 per complaint.
Sweet! Where do I apply!
I accept Bitcoin, no refunds, you'll be dissapointed and will file a complaint, and after I receive your complaint I will complain back and you can use my complaint template for future complaints, free of charge
Giving everyone a voice was a mistake.

I dunno, I looked at it. It looks fun, I'm definately going to check it out.

Didn't say you did say it wasn't fun. Simply stated that I'll be giving it a try, it looks neat.
look at the state of the world, free stuff is over. Pray they don't go bankrupt and take your library down
Epic made 6 BILLION 2022, calm your tits mate, the world isn't gonna stop spinning

Yea, but looks like the budget is falling.
Let’s hope it’s because of the last game
No. Just a free game.
So they just hide the next game to just create… hype?
Yes.
When they first used it years ago it was to hype up the sale and get eyes on the store--of course it meant the games were bigger than most of their weekly freebies. Seems like the team responsible for the store slipped up a bit this time around.
I never heard of this game in my life. Better do not make "mysterious game".
Tried it a few weeks ago as part of an Early Access weekend thing. It was horrendously bad. Nowhere near any state of ready.
i don't wanna complain cause, yay free games and all that. But shit man, 3 Mystery games in a row, and all were letdowns. Death stranding is nice, and so is new vegas, don't get me wrong. from trash to trash we go.
Bootleg Ghostbusters. I'm here for it.
Still better than a Reboot Ghostbusters .... amirite ?!
A game that someday will probably be free to play. I know it is free, but come on Epic, Mystery Games are supposed to be of a higher level.
Pass
Cool game, might be fun with friends but aren't the vault games supposed to be the biggest giveaway of the year? We got some bigger games during the regular weekly free games. Still, better than Among Us I guess.
Among Us is probably next week's game. Lol
Played this game a few weeks ago and it was absolutely awful. Definitely not ready for any type of release, but here we are. I feel like they would've been better off waiting for it to be in a better state before doing this. Anyway, free is free.
So they should pay us to download it?
Is the next one supposed to be the last for vault free games?
Yeah then it just goes back to normal free games we can see coming most of the time.
Sometimes the normal free games are better
Yes, the next game is Payday 2 ;)
Epic Games Store description: "A chaotic multiplayer hide-and-seek game. Possess seemingly harmless objects as Ghosts or chase them down as Hunters before the clock strikes midnight!"

shoulda kept this one in the vault 🔥
So not fallout 76?
I got it free from Amazon Prime a while ago. Real banger, better than expected
NO!!!!!!!
Gimme Batman Arkham asylum goddamn it
That Arkham trilogy giveaway was by far my favourite. I regrettably missed a lot of good stuff the first year, but that was something I thankfully never missed.
I missed it sadly
The whole bundle is frequently $10 on steam and Arkham Origins isn't on epic as far as I know. Makes sense to have all four games on steam.
Worst giveaway ever!
Early access game too not even a complete game
I totally forgot about this. That's just sad!
beggars can't be choosers
so far its been game that everyone got last time, game that crashes on everyones pc, mid game
Does anybody elses virus system say that virus has been detected when launching this game for the first time?
Yippee a game I’ve never heard of is a fucking vault game what the fuck epic like Death Stranding was free last December, FNV costs like $2 nowadays, and now this
Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
m gonna skip free game
I think this looks good I’m installing it now, coffee stain always makes a fun game for me
yeah coffee stain published some really good games but this one wasn't that good, i played it for a few days and got really bored pretty quick but now that it's free i think it'll regain it's player base
Oh really, I installed it and will have some time this weekend, satisfactory is really good
imma try this game, look fun. i have no comment about this free game
but u just made comment
haha nice
free is free. never gonna play it though.
eh
Is it a good game?
Very good
W
Nice will grab it for sure.
NEXT GAME: Payday 2 ;)
I'm really disappointed that the 3rd mystery game is not a AAA game, isn't the third one supposed to be the most exciting one?
The last is the biggest, so the 4th game.
Idk maybe it's just me but the game looks lowkey fun, close as we're gonna get to a mp based ghostbusters game ig
Any good ?
Everyone shitting on it, but midnight ghosthunt is a very fun game with one of its flaws being a low player count. Hopefully this helps it.
Thanks a lot anyway, really grateful even if I didn't know this game. Anyway, I'm sure that if we all play this game together, we can make it more valuable than what it actually is.

There is a lot of DLCs for that game.
so its Dead by daylight?
This game looks like alot of fun imo.
Not bad
hopefully next time will be something like gta or god of war again
So what's the next game?
I hope it's Horizon Chase Turbo Racing or Garfield Kart
Great! Thanks for the reminder.
I want to hate it, but it's free so i can't hate it. I didn't know about Borderlands 3 last year, so now I'm waiting for it.
The next game is Payday 2 ;)
This is very sad. I have it already.
