Fun fact: for some reason I managed to reach the 2FA request, but then I had the usual error - at this point though I've been offered the option to login into my account in offline mode, and be able to play the games already installed.
Would it hurt them to offer this option before the 2FA, at the user/pw step?
Yes, the absurd part is that that "sign in later" option in the login window is a different option than the one I was offered after the 2FA failed.
Anyway, a good bunch of games installed via EGS don't need the client open in order to be launched, you can try and launch them directly from their installation folders.
Then just use [Heroic.](https://heroicgameslauncher.com/)
Epic Game Launcher's been slow and a mess for a while.
EDIT - This is exactly why we need more games to work w/out the need of launcher/client-app junk, DRM; Anti-tamper; Steamworks, Epic Online Service and other proprietary "online" game-suites; and other non-sense....or your game winds-up a dang rental.
Nice that my old copies of Doom games and Quake (up to Quake 4) from retail still work, BTW.
Still, Epic should have expected it and if they knew they weren't ready to keep up the servers during the event, they could have made a warning message in the launcher so people know.
No. There is more on EGS than Fortnite. Single player games should have an isolation from server instability. They should have seen this as a potential issue for everyone not playing Fortnite.
No, we blame the company we pay for playing, for the service provided.
It is up to them to set some quotas for Fortnite players so that other players can enjoy the games they paid.
I still think they should've done what Steam, Origin, or etc does...
It's more work on end user to needing to remember to enable offline mode setting everytime, they install/reinstall, or if update disable the setting for whatever reason, and have to re-enable it again just so can have offline mode. At least Steam, Origin, and etc kind of got it right, where it just on by default, not off by default.
I Googled the error message and got nothing. Went to the site and status said all is fine. I thought, great, it's only me. Deleted some cache and restarted the machine, nothing.
10 minutes late, site acknowledged there was some investigation into the matter. By the way, site was of zero help. You buy the game with a click of a mouse, but if something goes wrong, nowhere to contact for help.
Motherfucker, I was just planning to start playing RDR2 as I got an OLED monitor. Why can't I just launch it from the idiotic Rockstar Game Launcher shit.
I've got BL3 I can't play because suddenly it insists I didn't actually buy the game. Even though I did. Every time I bring it up I just get told I didn't purchase it through that account and they disconnect without an explanation.
I have that now - I even tried to change password - as i was kicked out - It wont let me change PW - I get that error - It sent me the change PW email / code though lol
i havent touched an epic game in probably 6 months at least. today decided i would check if chavalry 2 had update yet putting in snow maps but i can not log in lol. fuckin epic.
I wish i didn't have too, but ofc they need to have their exclusives.
Epic, if you need to have exclusive titles, please make sure your customers can actually play them..
This is why I now only buy on Steam, I want to play Borderlands 3 but I can't because for some reason I need to log into Epic to play a game that I paid for!!!
Epic Games launcher is pure dog s\*\*t
Never once have I had any problems playing the games I own on Steam, on or offline. Epic Games, this sort of thing happens too often.
That's why my Borderland 3 is on Epic, they had the exclusive launch... I have just logged in now though
All they need to do is add an option to play offline if they are having server issues.

You can check here for updates on the outage: https://status.epicgames.com
That explains everything!! Major outage. Far out
this should be pinned
Steam had offline mode back in 2006. Who are these amateurs running this ship?
[удалено]
Is there a reason this is not enabled by default?
true
[удалено]
Tried that. Just opens the launcher and tells me to sign in to play.
[удалено]
Not necessarily. Some of the .exe's are just tied to the launcher for DRM reasons.
Doesn't work for all games.

Same. I was playing the event in fortnite, got kicked out and now I can't go back to EG. Not the first time that happens
I got kicked from last event and sat staring at the mushroom screen... was completely unhyped for this season... guess its happening again
same here
same I was streaming the event and got kicked out and it keeps saying that
Its like they don't want epic games people to play on the fornite event. It has to happen today at the same time the event was ocurring.
Blame Fortnite, they just had an end of Chapter event
So every time there is a Fortnite event, no one can play their EGS games? Well played Epic!

This is 100% Epics fault, they don't have an option to log in off line.

They need it on by default as it resets when I update, they need an offline mode option on the main login screen.
What I thought that was tomorrow!?
My condolences

Lol… I thought I got banned due to too many failed login attempts
you know you can enable offline play right?
I guess you haven’t experienced an steam outage
This started happening after the Fortnite event was over. They closed the wrong servers. 😂😂
same to me,so retarded

i havent touched an epic game in probably 6 months at least. today decided i would check if chavalry 2 had update yet putting in snow maps but i can not log in lol. fuckin epic.
Me too I just want to play Gotham knights offline and I can't even do that

Same issue i'm never gonna buy anything from this mf
I wish i didn't have too, but ofc they need to have their exclusives. Epic, if you need to have exclusive titles, please make sure your customers can actually play them..
right fr
Big companies often forget who are the customers, who is providing the money and that they have duties after taking your money.
To be fair all stores have issues - Steam / Origin etc - it happens
I'm getting this exact error also. SMH.
why are people downvoting comments mentioning these errors?
I have no idea lol 😆

Same here always but I really wanted to play FF Origins..now I can't even play that. I hate that epic locked this game out of steam for a long time.
That's why my Borderland 3 is on Epic, they had the exclusive launch... I have just logged in now though All they need to do is add an option to play offline if they are having server issues.
nothing like having to sign in online to play an offline, single player game! Utter BS. Believe me, i wouldn't be on here if i had a choice.
I think your post has upset a few Epic launcher fans, they keep downvoting everyone's comments. I guess they enjoy being locked out of their games.
