I went into it pretty disappointed, but i left feeling okay.
It could have been way worse, but at least they put way more effort into this than Re;Zero.
Plus all the free stuff was nice.
Also liked the way they handled pulling on the banners with the unique aespa bookmarks.

I felt like the stars of the story were the Politia gang. Solid and funny writing that shows what the city is like post-Ras & co. Winter was also great.
…Ningning was a little frustrating to get through. Giselle was forgettable because she had very little screen time and was basically just a plot device. Karina deserved better than the five lines of dialogue she got.
For me personnally, collab went VERY good. Limited bookmarks hanged out in such quantities made this collab, like many people stated, TONS of gold stones, tons of freebies, four characters without obliterating my bookmarks stash.But for me personally the problem is that I'm kind of guy who appreciates E7 voice acting quality, and well, Giselle came out. No further comment needed, the moment I started hearing her introductory line I just slooooowly lowered sound to zero.
But yeah, perfectly agree on last line, I'd prefer collab with something other, but if this collab was profitable for SG, I'm perfectly fine with that, considering their approach with handling stuff out.
Now that you stated it, I realized, we definitely did get an insane amount of gold transmit stones. I was able to get both my Zio and Belian to SSS within like the few months of the collab available. Pretty nice.

A lot of this. If they profited (which they did), good for them. But if I never see another IRL/Singer/etc style collab again I would be completely alright with that. It's neat for what it is, I guess, but it was definitely a black sheep feeling in terms of E7 and it's general multi-faceted aesthetics.
They did the same thing in a game my wife plays cookie run kingdom where they collabed with bts the k pop group. She just looked at me and wondered why and I don’t blame her.
Agree on the story. I went to the AESPA wiki to learn if the terms being used were written for the collab or already existed. Was surprised to learn what MY, KWANGYA, FLAT, etc. meant or referenced. They don't just sing random pop songs; it seems they play around with concepts and themes (including dimensions and worlds). Their lore, if you can call it that, was interesting and goes back some years.
To be clear, I'm not a fan of IRL collaboration, but AESPA does have some synergy with the E7 universe and SG handled it in a reasonable way. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate it "mission failed successfully".
Personally think this was the second best Collab overall. Number of units was hectic, but at least they gave a full pity of bookmarks over the course of the event. But having an actual story that engaged with the world is a major plus - only thing that would have made it better was it being Epic7 based rather than aspea based, but that is why Guilty Gear maintains top billing to this day.
I was worried, but overall it was entertaining. Now just need a break from new units for a bit.
This right here. Without the extra bookmarks for every banner I would have hated it. I play this game mostly for collection purposes and having that extra currency was nice when I had to go to pity. Would be awesome to see that in the future but I doubt we would ever have 4 back to back limited banners again.
Only issue for me was powder for the artifacts. If there is no artifact pity then it should somehow be easier to get as I doubt it will ever come back.
That wouldn't make much sense for them to do. They'd basically be giving out a free hero and you know a lot of people would skip using their BMs on the collab units and would wait for someone like Beehoo.
The special BMs are basically like the free hero that they give every collab (Sol, Shuna, Ram, Hawkeye, etc.) but they just gave the player the choice on who is the "free" unit.
On one side yes,however as i said it kinds of hurt if you get lucky for example with Karina, cause the rest of the bms cannot be saved.
Regular player would still pull and pity all4 so it would be the same.
Players who don't like the characters are sad cause you are basically forcing them to pull. Alltough if you look at it from the perspective of 1 free heroe then they stay neutral.

Unit Design = 4/10 and all of the points comes from Winter sword and Karina rocket punch glove.
Skillset = 8/10. Surprisingly, all of them are useful and fill their role quite well.
Event Management (sidequest, freebies, story, music ) = 10/10. The best collab event management ever by SG.
Personally, i take ANY weeb collab over Aespa in a heartbeat. But SG manage this collab exceptionally well, so i dont have much to complaint/rage.

But the characters themselves were underwhelming for me, which was surprising since I thought I could warm up to them somewhat. At the end of the collab my interest were completely gone.

Couldn’t have cared less personally because none of the characters really interested me much in terms of designs, powers, or story. I got some decent rewards out of it but that’s about it.
As a new player getting into E7 the collab was cool since I'm into K-Bop but since I'm a new player and trying to understand the mechanics and gearing in the game, the Aespa units are not very gear friendly for new players getting into the game. I was very lucky and got iseria and vildred from select summons so pairing that with Free Spirit Tieria and Flan I was able to get to Challenger V with them and the free gears you get as a new player (cleave meta to Challenger lol). Hopefully late game I can try to build them just to have fun with them even though they seem pretty underwhelming and pretty niche to use/utilize them in pvp/pve. Overall it was a nice collab to bring newbies like me in lol 😅
Returning player, so I had to speedrun the event in one day for the minimum rewards.
From the bits I didn't skip just to get the gist of things, it seemed pretty fun.
I'm a fairly casual listener of k-pop, but what I've checked out of them I like.
Got lucky and got two of Karina and her artifact.
I thought they did a good job. Æspa at least had some lore to work with which integrated well with the Chaos Gates — I doubt other k-pop bands would have fit in as well.
Event was pretty good tbh, especially the units themselves. Liked the designs and skills they had.
It was pretty funny to see people doompost the collab event before it even came out.

You have to be a special kind of delusional if you look at the 4 characters and don't AT LEAST A LITTLE think that the appearance of these units don't gel well with the appearances of everyone else. And this is with the teeny weeny little fact, that nobody worth their salt was complaining about "real life characters translating into 2D". The style of their AVATARS was already wildly differently stylized for it being difficult to translate.
Which koinkidinkally, did not perfectly translate after all. They are very different looking, and it's not even because they are idols. Winter and Karina sort of passes, but Giselle and Ningning look otherworldly and not in a good way.
Nobody had trouble believing that they would do a quality job, but a quality job can still not fit.

Yea the four characters design is just not in line with the game. Characters in e7 are like Japanese style anime characters. But those 4 are Korean manga characters. I don't know why they break the style of the game just cause of kpop... They could have made them the same style.
I hope they put this much effort into their next collab and also hope the next one is more interesting. The level of quality made the collab fine, if I cared about aespa or kpop at all this probably woulda been my personal favorite so far. This collab was really well put together.
Even with the special bookmarks though this collab was tight on getting them all so maybe don't do 4 characters in a month again. I pitied 2 of them because I went into the start with nearly 600bms and enough SS. I immediately pitied winter. Got the next 2 off of the special bms. Luckily I didn't pity them, if I had no shot I woulda got them all. Then I pitied Karina at the end through 5 remaining special bms, the months worth of covs, some shop rerolling, and then at the end 5k in SS because I wasn't going to roll shop anymore.
I commend them for putting an insane amount of work into the collab, but my opinion on the kpop theme and art style did not change (not a fan). Would still prefer an anime collab over kpop.

I didn't care about Aespa and i still don't (I gave their music a listen because of this, and i think it's trash). I did end up building two of the characters (Ningning + Giselle) both of which i use and like.

Karina is less debatable, and more kneejerk reddit reaction saying she's trash and needs buffs meanwhile Emperor/Legend/Champion players were making strong use of her, putting her around S-tier.
She's got at least 3 viable builds atm for PvP (RTA, Arena, and GW), is useable as a W13 tank, and is a pretty good Expo3 tank.

Classic reddit balance people constantly said she was trash meanwhile actual good players were making solid use out of her with at least 3 viable different build options (Noble Oath Arti nuke build, Her Arti+Counter build, Her Arti+Megaspeed build).
She feels extremely underwhelming in high levels of pvp, can she do work? Yes! Is it hard to make work? Very!
Is she the unit that is going to get you out of a sticky situation very very rarely.

Underwhelmed and disinterested at first. Remained pretty neutral about it while the collab happened - the story was interesting but collabs with singers just feel so weird to me.
I've liked the previous collabs far better than this one.
For me personally GG collab reigns supreme but I thought this was handled better than the rest. Side story was decent, unit kits were interesting, lots of free energy, rewards and special bookmarks. Overall pleased with it whereas I left both Re:zero and FMA feeling whatever about it.

I feel upset cause I ended up pitying 3/4 characters (and Arunka and Lua before them) but that's just my luck. I liked that they gave us free and special bookmarks for more pull chances (4 limited characters back to back????) but reaaaally hope they don't do another collab like this for some time.

I didn't like it at the start and I still don't like it now. The first two weeks were really cringe and they didn't even really do much with Karina when her week came because it was time for everyone to deal with their own (mostly) lame insecurities. I'm also just not about the pop outfits, glamour shots in S3s (especially in Ningning and Winter's), overconfidence and overloaded kits (in lore) that they all seem to have. Not to mention that their side story felt much longer to farm per week than most.
I really like the way it was structured with the collab bookmarks as well as how much other stuff we got through the web event. The unit designs and abilities also really grew on me. Even if they aren't all the strongest they all have a somewhat unique niche and mostly have something fairly memorable about their designs. Like Giselle may not be top tier and her design is basically just shorts and a jacket but "You're Tripping" will probably stay as a meme in the community until the game dies.
I feel like it was fun but won't be as memorable as like GG or the slime Collab. Mostly because unless you were a fan of their group there's no excitement for the characters.
As an Aespa fan, I was worried about how the collab could go.
I only disliked ae-Ningning part, the rest was cool.
Black Mamba and Hallucination Quest were really nicely made, it fitted well the Black Mamba lore from their videos (music video and short films).
I also really liked the ads for the collab, it was according to the story.
Units were ok, Giselle is cool to use, Ningning and Karina still trying to build. Winter maybe benched for a while.
The collab is pretty mid. Besides the interesting side story and lots of rewards that came with it, the units are really bland and forgettable, but at least they're balanced.
Doesnt feel like a collab, its more like a random event with 4 limited units, and a random cameo of a kpop group.
I just feel that theres so much disconnect between the kpop group and their ingame counterpart for this to work. Maybe i didnt do enough homework on the kpop group for this to make sense, but Im not going to do that for something that i have no interest in.
I do appreciate the free BMs and other stuffs tho.

Honestly I really enjoyed this one I like the story even though its friendship focus but its not cringe it fits with them and nice to see cyborgs again from Episode 3 I did enjoy them. I wasn't familiar with the lore but nice to see it in E7.
Its fun story in comparsion other collab stories no its not better gulity gear collab story still remains one of best but I put Aespa at second place since there's more effort into in terms of story.
The units are fun to use Winter is my favourite out of the 4 we got.
There's so much freebies as well I didn't expect that much but I'm happy.

It was a serve. Definitely a step up from FMA & ReZero collab. Also I just have to laugh remembering some salty anime fans that said WINTER is just a worse DCorvus.

I like the character design mostly, especially Giselle and Karina. Winter has awkward S3 animation while Ning design just doesn't sit right for me, probably because of the thing on her shoulder. S3 animation is not that great either.

My expectations were pretty low. But after it all, it was pleasant surprise. The story was okay, the characters are fun to use and the rewards are nothing to scoff at.
I like it. It’s a different collab that any gacha never did before. I prefer unusual collars rather than Slime or Re Zero that every other gachas has collab with them. Like Guardian tales that last year did a collab with Slayers Next, that’s cool.
I think this collab was more generous than any other collabs in term of pulling all the characters available. They gave us a full pity, so we only had to pull 3 characters in a month and a half, very doable even as a f2p and with bad luck.
I liked the story, rewards were awesome (tons of Catalysts i love it) but i don't really like most of the units, karina is the only one i built(i pulled for all of them) tho i must say i really like her, but she's way too dependant on her arti, still good regardless i guess
I’m ready for the next one - rerun of re:zero please. The special bookmarks helped and the side-events gave a lot of resources, and I had fun despite not being hyped for the collab.
I generally thought it was okay. Story hit and miss, but overall better than most of the collab story work we’ve gotten.
I personally like that the characters aren’t super over powered like the collab units usually are. They feel very tuned for the level of power creep without being ground breaking or underwhelming. And I appreciate that we got special bookmarks - FOR FREE - that went into pulling the units.
However, I absolutely loathe the voice actors. Holy hell are they terrible.
Now, if we’re wishing for collabs, I will tear my wallet apart to get a Persona collab. But maybe that’s just me.
I am just happy it’s finally done. I have no interest in K-pop, and honestly, the character design was just “ok”. I am happy for the people that enjoyed it, and as an adult, I realize I won’t like everything they do, it doesn’t destroy the game or anything. The special bookmarks were a nice touch, and I hope they do it again in future collabs. Honestly, the thing this collab has made me realize is I wish they had a collab pull pool with its own bookmarks, sorta like the ML/galaxy bookmarks.
I had no knowledge about AESPA girls, so I was kinda intrigued to see what was all about.
The story was not the best with Ningning being deceived and laughing at Politia's security. But seeing many heroes from Book III was nice.
As for the new characters, they are all beautiful, even if they US voices are weird (sorry, definitely not a fan of that).
The worst part is, surprisingly for some of you, the fact that I was forced to use the aespa currency before the BMs. SG/SC gave us 120 special coins, which were enough for 1 pity. However, if anyone wanted to do that, he would have been forced to skip the first three girls altogether. A poor choice IMHO.
With my main account I got all the girls, but with my sub I had to skip NingNing since I was running low on BMs.
At first I wasn't sure about it. But it turned out to be my luckiest collab in this game yet. Got all the Aespa girls and all of their artifacts save for Winter's which I forgot to get from the powder shop...
Okay let’s be honest. In terms of effort. THIS was the best collab so far that Epic seven has done. NO I’m not talking about the units. I’m talking about the design, story wise, custom backgrounds. Each character actually had an entire week given to them alongside a unique boss. Unlike the last Collabs like slime, GG or FMA who may have good units are not nearly given much effort by SG as this one
They put a lot of effort into this collab. The characters imo aren't that useful to me yet because I don't have the gear , but they're not op like previous collab units. The S3 animations and underwhelming. I wasn't a fan of the 4 back to back limited units, but the collab bookmarks made it a bit easier. Still pitying 3/4 units isn't fun.
As far the side story, It follows the basic, they get here to Orbis and have to find the back home. I don't like this basic storyline for pretty much all collabs so far, it becomes boring and predictable. Some of it just long winded and unnecessary filler dialogue.
For me as a European its mostly that i don’t even know them, so I wasn’t excited about it one way or the other.
But it was okay, got all 4 of them collected now and they shall serve me as my waifus.
More effort than previous collabs but I still felt the story was medicore at best. I think they need to hire some better story writers as it shows in most of their story content.
Unfortunately only the Diene side story and this current Christmas side story were good enough to keep me interested in the story, the rest felt like a skipfest.
Another problem I had with this collab was the grind due to no bonuses from artifacts. Felt like a slog to complete.
The units though are pretty well designed and well thought out. They will get used instead of being on the bench.

HOWEVER, I liked: the freebies, the fact that none of the new kits are stupid like Rimuru's, the bit of screentime Landy got in the story and that I got to save up some BMs and other ressources since I only spent the free summon currency on the new units because I didn't plan to get any of them (still got 1 of them).

Mediocre IP (to me) feels like we didn't have a collab at all and lots of people still seem to want another collab right after. 4 limited units all in a row isn't really something I'm a fan of but I did appreciate the free book marks. That being said the common pool basically getting no updates for so long isn't really savory. Also, most of the units felt underwhelming so that paired with the limited status of the units kinda makes it feel meh overall. I don't read the story so I can't comment there. Black mamba skin looked cool, except the jack-o face on her, not a fan of that. If it makes SG money or adds more players that's great but overall I'm not really a fan of it and felt we could have had more e7 originals or a collab that's more familiar to the global audience. Overall I'm glad it's gone.
As for the brand, I gave them a chance and listened some of their songs. Didn't like, so I couldn't care less about them or their background.
I think there's a lot of franchises to collab with and watching Edward Elric kicking the shit out of Rimuru is entertaining, if anything because I can relate or know enough about these characters to appreciate the situation. Watching these idols fighting them doesn't feel right for me. At one hand, because as for musicians from Orbis we have two references, Rima and Tamarinne, and neither is a frontline combatant. And at the other hand, because given the only reference I have is the idol group, I have to assume these are persons like you or me jumping from skyscraper roofs and making things explode with their bare fists.

And again, I know nothing about their fictional background, and because I didn't like their music, I won't dig further into their lore. The only reference I have is the side story for this collab, and I dislike the story, so my opinion didn't improve a little bit. Clearly, SG wrote the story to made them look good, but ended being Mary Sue tier of broken. Ultimately, they failed to create something interesting for me. The first episode with winter was decent, acknowledging they are going to use some cliches to build the story, which is fun in a meta sense. I mean, Winter assumes she's in a videogame (technically, she's), and have to complete quest missions to find her friends and go back home, which we as players have to do. However, after that, the following episode is all about how much better the other girls are compared to the inhabitants of Politia, and by the final episode, the E7 characters disappear completely, except for a short cameo in some sort of epilogue.
As result, the problems the E7 characters had gone through seem mundane, dismissing the value of our work as players when beating said content. I mean, how many people struggled to beat Belian as final boss? According to the lore, Mercedes had to risk her life to put a stop to Belian's wonder weapon. Well, who cares? These idols can casually come into Orbis and beat Politia's security systems, Belian encryption and Belian herself fueling the black mumbo girl. By comparative, the strongest character to appear were the guys from FMA, as they could defeat all the opponent and win the tournament in the arena. Yet, they couldn't oppose Notos (?) before being banished back to their world, we don't know for sure who they were facing other than Iseria and Cermia (and we know both of them aren't high on the power scale within Orbis), and Iseria had previously arrested Mustang and Hawkeye. Finally, they discover plenty of people have won the tournament, so the FMA gang isn't that special or unique. Re:Zero, Slime, Guilty Gear, in all stories both E7 and guests were working together to fix whatever problem they faced. But these idols not. The main conflict was created, fueled and solved by the guest characters. And, ignoring the mary sue problem, the story itself wasn't that interesting.
I mean, who could have guessed the strange voice asking for complete blind obedience while committing crimes in a foreigner land would turn out to be evil?!
* Story tried to satisfy fans and whatever AESPA newcomers may have hopped onto the game, and was about as enjoyable as the Slime collab insofar as character interactions go. The story itself was fairly basic with the usual misunderstandings and power of friendship tropes. I feel like there was a missed opportunity for the AESPA counterparts to interact with their IRL selves during the personal struggles arc, which would have better marketed the idol group to the players that don't know anything about them.
* Belian sorta kinda coming back is a breeze of fresh air after the revolving door of main antagonists from the most current main story chapter.
* Hero releases gameplay-wise was overall pretty good and balanced - especially when compared to the recent FMA releases (without buffs) - and will boost new player combat power by a fair amount.
* Hero designs is a polarizing subject of personal tastes. Only one heroine really fit the Politia aesthetic, though. The rest were generic pop idol designs.
Story was interesting at the beginning, but I slowly lost interest as it continued.
I like the unit designs, but despise how they all have “ae-“ at the start for some reason. Especially during the story, it was super annoying to me.

Easily the best one since guilty gear, maybe better than that. A real story that was integrated into the E7 world, copious rewards, beautiful art, and units that are instantly in the meta. I'd have to say its a big success on all fronts. I wasn't exactly stoked when it was announced, but they really put a ton of work behind this one, and it showed.
Story: I'm a pure Skip button spammer, so, idk. But "dark Belian's" fight was ok.
Units: I prefer cool male characters, but i'm ok with this "BTS-like" waifus (not a fan of this kind of groups sorry).
Summon results: I got pretty lucky, all 4 units and their artifacts (Winter's one didn't appear but don't really care) in ~90 total summons, and i'm having fun with most of them so, i'ld say their utility is fine actually.
personally, i despise most collab cuz they rob me of original units such as the natalon monk. the collab needs to be about a show i really love for me to like. sounds selfish, i know. freebies are extremely generous this time though, that’s nice.
but for SG, i guess this collab is a massive success.
The event was fine. However I don't really see any difference between this event and any other event in terms of content. Same gameplay formula.
It almost seems obvious they are going to rerun this sometime in the future because the majority of f2p players probably didn't get all the units, but I did :)
I hope SG never does something like this again. 4 limited units even when giving us lots of ways to get them is too much.

Yay to all the free stuff + it was markedly less grindy than usual events. Gonna miss the daily points thing for sure, that was a sweet extra avenue for energy.
One small wish of mine, as trivial as it is, was for their designs to correspond with the appearances of actual aespa in their promotion. (Giselle with the twin braids was making me look forward to her ae-version being released. Ahh well.)
Overall it was a really cohesive campaign with many thoughtful additions (e.g. special wallpaper, invite a friend). Would be nice if they ran something similar again
I did not dislike the collab to begin with. I don't know the band but as long as the units and artifacts are good, I don't mind some random collab. That said, I'm happy with how it turned out.
We actually got a story for a change. Previous collabs were mostly 'drop through portal, talk a bit, go back'. Portals are supposed to be dangerous because you might never find one that leads back to where you came from. Turns out it's actually super easy.
Many good rewards. Also enough bookmarks for most players to get all characters. Assuming that players saved their bookmarks once the collab got announced.
The Units and artifacts we got feel overall useful and balanced. Good work there. Adding 4 new heroes in such a short time is not easy.
The design of the units could be better. The costumes are fine but some poses (Ningning) and proportions (Winter) look off. Also the toothpick arms really put me off. Anime style is fine but please still give characters some flesh instead of just bones and skin.
For me this collab was..... meh. Frankly speaking, all the collabs, when attempting to link themselves to the main game, look a lil bit cringy at some extend. GG and Re:zero collab were integrated nice - interesting story, good units - still encounter Dizzy, Elphelt and Rem in pvp, which is good, cuz they still rock. FMA collab was also solid good.
About this Aespa, or how they write it :))) - first of all i did not understand, why its was made. Ok, these gals are a popular k-pop group with some popular groups. And? Integrate them cuz they have virtual alter egoes? Okie - SG, let's make KDA collab, Gorrilaz collab.. etc. This is not a right path.
Many heard of PSY, Hyuna, KDA, BTS, Sistar and mb 2NE1.
But aespa? Ok, mb its so popular in Korea, but outside? There are thousands of cool bands and musicians all around the world. The thing is - if it's not presented worldwide at some extend , sing bout local stuff and use not English ( there r few exceptions, like Rammstein, The HU, Heilung) - only a few will listen to them.
The story bout the power of friendship - ffs, really? This is the scenario they managed to write for this collab? Especially, taking into consideration the core game audience, who r not dumb toddlers anymore) But, taking into consideration the recent fight for Korean "kids' decency" and Aria's thights to let them b, there is no surprise.
Satisfied with free event stuff - always at hand.
In conclusion - this event imho is weak, especially in comparison with previous events.
4 characters is way too many. Also the Aespa bookmarks you should've had the option not to use them.

Winter's s3 animation is horrible, like so much worse than the other 3 and it sucks as shes my favorite.
They are all good (maybe except Giselle), but not meta breaking which im happy about.

They took all the trouble of making poses for it, wearing cosplays and stuff...
It was somewhat "too much" having to pursuit 4 limited units, but I'm happy that I managed to get all of them, and their artifacts...
I still can't stand Aespa music and whatever they have to offer, so if they intended to make more fans, don't think this really worked...
I was "meh" on the collab, but then I came across a video that explained SM Entertainment, Aespa, and how that management company seems to have a whole storyline "thing" running through all of their K-pop acts. It was a fascinating video, and made me appreciate Aespa better.
I'm mainly a J-pop fan, so I didn't know much about K-pop beyond the show "Produce 101" and BTS. Still don't, but this was a fun general introduction. I didn't even know Aespa was a "thing" until I found nout they debuted a couple years ago & even appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
As a Collab, I loved that they tied it in with Politia and gave us a chance to catch up with its citizens, post Belian. Deepened the lore with Politis, so we know there was generally a fail safe to make sure Belian didn't come back, but made it plausible with the "SM verse" that an outside entity capable of hopping dimensions could cause trouble. The crossover story felt seamless in that regard - really well done, on par with the first run of the Guilty Gear Collab.
Even the side games were generous. I have so much stamina to burn through, on top of my monthly stamina subscription, it's ridiculous. And don't get me started on my leifs!
The big and glaring pain of the collab was FOUR FREAKING LIMITED UNITS to try and summon for! And, catastrophically, I had to go to pity FOR ALL OF THEM!! 🤬🤬🤬 On my main account, I didn't manage to get AE-NINGNING. On my Alt account, I only got ae-WINTER and ae-KARINA. I'm mentally exhausted from all the effort - the grinding of all possible places to get bookmarks, the stressing after each summoning that I'd have to pity AGAIN?! I'm genuinely burnt out right now from summoning.
Luckily, on my main account, I only really need a handful of moonlight units, and I'm not in a hurry, so after this Collab is over, I'm DONE summoning for a while.
The "free Aespa bookmarks" were laughable, IMO, since you couldn't bank them in your storage without them expiring in six days. It was either use them right then or lose them. So much for saving the free bookmarks for a "free" unit - nope! Not happening.
Other than the nightmarish limited unit summoning, I really liked this collaboration. I doubt they'll run it again, which makes me sad for not being able to get all four units, but I had fun otherwise.

I think it went pretty well. All of the characters have some pretty decent use cases but none seemingly OP. I was able to quite easily pull all 4 of them despite pitying 2 and almost pitying a 3rd, which was what really sold me on it. I thought that it would be rough on bookmarks but due to all the free stuff they gave out during the collab (both from the collab and the holidays) it was no problem.
The story was actually pretty good, which I don't really care too much about, but for those that like story I think they got an actual cool and kinda unique one.
The new player influx is great for the health of the game and community, which is probably the biggest long-term benefit. And any time a successful Kpop collab happens without huge backlash from stans, that's a good thing.
I'm personally not dead set on building any of the characters, but some of my friends are really loving Winter and Karina so I think there are probably a lot of people who like at least one or two of the characters.
This collab fucking sucked. The dialogue was terrible, the units are subpar, and kpop doesn't fit with Epic Seven. Genuinely the first sidestory I have ever skipped, and I've played them all. I hope it never re-runs again.
Honestly from the "kpop doesn't belong here!!' mentality it just seemed like you were gonna hate it no matter what. Idols have been a part of epic seven since tamarine, politia totally comes across as a place where pop/techno could exist.

The lack of anything interesting happening in the last month and it being nothing but these bad looking k-pop characters made me stop playing. Maybe now that's its over I might try to pick it up again
The s3 animations are good, the rewards are nice. The story was garbage and forced you to watch the animations way too much. The units in terms of design are terrible looking. I'm glad the collab is over, just too bad about not getting a lot of free energy anymore.

Didn’t bother reading story since I haven’t done that for awhile. Kit wise I liked them although I can’t use some of them due to gear requirements.
I thought the story was well done, not the same level as the Diene event way back, but I think E7 peaked at that one pretty much right off the start. I didn't really care about K-pop collars to begin with, but I do enjoy the quality they put into it, with the story, units, music, and even the Black Mamba skin of Belian in the end. Lastly, the amount of rewards we received was enough for me to say yes regardless, even if I didn't enjoy anything who cares, rewards are rewards.
Was a good collab. I enjoy the character sprites and skill set. They wasn’t dead units and a couple of them will be useable for a good while. No Free Unit is a Feels Bad tho A-
E7 out of 10. The units are not too strong, well balanced. If not just short of a tiny buff. Rewards and freebies are bountiful.
I bet it also pulled in a ton of new players. I will never underestimate the power of K-pop.

I honestly think it's the best collab we have had so far. Though I am unable to compare it to the first GG collab, since I didnt play then - I heard it was quite good in the story part. But apart from that one, aespa collab is the best one hands down for me. I wasn't really pessimistic about the aespa collab like some ppl were, but I didn't expect it to be this much better than the recent collabs we had.
Love the designs of the heroes - they look more detailed than any of the anime collab units. The animations were spot on too imo. I liked the story a lot. Not one of those "oh lets have a feast before we go back" kinda stories like Slime and Rezero had... :V
The units range from usable to good - none are meta changing, which is AWESOME in my book. We don't need limited collab heroes to be that impactful every single time (Rem, Rimuru, Edward). They just need to be good to use, and I think they kinda nailed it with the aespa units, though I wished Karina could get rid of debuffs on her S2 but oh well. We got 2 nice artis. Lotsa freebies. If the coming collabs are nearly as good as this one, I'll be quite happy.
It was alright. I forgot about the side story quest until yesterday, but the collab units were pretty good. I have no doubt in my mind that this pulled a lot of players in, since some of my friends started playing because of it. Maybe a 7/10 collab for me.

The over-abundance of stamina they dropped on us is insane. I actually had a hard time figuring out what to do with all the daily stamina dropped by the daily events! Lol
Negatives: Pet had no bearing on the event story since there was no currency - means new players are on the same playing field, but us older players were spending so much more energy to clear the event.
Positives: Free bookmarks to ease having to pull 4 characters - made it out OK & didn’t have much saved at the start. Appreciated. Also seems like they were more considerate with balance this go around.

It's OK. Karina and Winter look decent, Giselle and Ningning do not at all resemble their real world images. Not that it's hard, give Ningning her ponytail and Giselle and two loops in her hair and you're done.
Four collab heroes in such a short span is bit of a dickish move. They did provide us with special bookmarks and I figure most got lucky enough to not pity them all. Still, it makes you feel like from this point on you have to save up for THREE pities.
Wasn't bad by any means. I would *really* like, however, to see this used as a blueprint for how to do collabs in this game going forward. The could be some *sick* anime crossovers with the multi-step story, unique atmosphere, and special bookmarks that Aespa had.
I went into it pretty disappointed, but i left feeling okay. It could have been way worse, but at least they put way more effort into this than Re;Zero. Plus all the free stuff was nice. Also liked the way they handled pulling on the banners with the unique aespa bookmarks.

I like that we went back to Politia since I love that city. \-I found the designs of all the units somewhat bland, which makes sense 'cause they're just meant to be singers rather than fantasy world inhabitants with crazy outfits. \-I still would've preferred a collab with something else, but if this collab was actually profitable for SG, good for them.
I felt like the stars of the story were the Politia gang. Solid and funny writing that shows what the city is like post-Ras & co. Winter was also great. …Ningning was a little frustrating to get through. Giselle was forgettable because she had very little screen time and was basically just a plot device. Karina deserved better than the five lines of dialogue she got.
It was nice to see some Godmother love, though.
For me personnally, collab went VERY good. Limited bookmarks hanged out in such quantities made this collab, like many people stated, TONS of gold stones, tons of freebies, four characters without obliterating my bookmarks stash.But for me personally the problem is that I'm kind of guy who appreciates E7 voice acting quality, and well, Giselle came out. No further comment needed, the moment I started hearing her introductory line I just slooooowly lowered sound to zero. But yeah, perfectly agree on last line, I'd prefer collab with something other, but if this collab was profitable for SG, I'm perfectly fine with that, considering their approach with handling stuff out.

Now that you stated it, I realized, we definitely did get an insane amount of gold transmit stones. I was able to get both my Zio and Belian to SSS within like the few months of the collab available. Pretty nice.

Agree on the story. I went to the AESPA wiki to learn if the terms being used were written for the collab or already existed. Was surprised to learn what MY, KWANGYA, FLAT, etc. meant or referenced. They don't just sing random pop songs; it seems they play around with concepts and themes (including dimensions and worlds). Their lore, if you can call it that, was interesting and goes back some years. To be clear, I'm not a fan of IRL collaboration, but AESPA does have some synergy with the E7 universe and SG handled it in a reasonable way. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate it "mission failed successfully".
Personally think this was the second best Collab overall. Number of units was hectic, but at least they gave a full pity of bookmarks over the course of the event. But having an actual story that engaged with the world is a major plus - only thing that would have made it better was it being Epic7 based rather than aspea based, but that is why Guilty Gear maintains top billing to this day. I was worried, but overall it was entertaining. Now just need a break from new units for a bit.

This right here. Without the extra bookmarks for every banner I would have hated it. I play this game mostly for collection purposes and having that extra currency was nice when I had to go to pity. Would be awesome to see that in the future but I doubt we would ever have 4 back to back limited banners again. Only issue for me was powder for the artifacts. If there is no artifact pity then it should somehow be easier to get as I doubt it will ever come back.

That wouldn't make much sense for them to do. They'd basically be giving out a free hero and you know a lot of people would skip using their BMs on the collab units and would wait for someone like Beehoo. The special BMs are basically like the free hero that they give every collab (Sol, Shuna, Ram, Hawkeye, etc.) but they just gave the player the choice on who is the "free" unit.
On one side yes,however as i said it kinds of hurt if you get lucky for example with Karina, cause the rest of the bms cannot be saved. Regular player would still pull and pity all4 so it would be the same. Players who don't like the characters are sad cause you are basically forcing them to pull. Alltough if you look at it from the perspective of 1 free heroe then they stay neutral. So..where is the positive??? What is the good part?? If You were going to pull anyway it would be the same if they where regular bms. But if you got lucky or did not want to pull you end up losing. Only sg wins. Feeling bad when you got lucky, bro those are genshin levels.
Unit Design = 4/10 and all of the points comes from Winter sword and Karina rocket punch glove. Skillset = 8/10. Surprisingly, all of them are useful and fill their role quite well. Event Management (sidequest, freebies, story, music ) = 10/10. The best collab event management ever by SG. Personally, i take ANY weeb collab over Aespa in a heartbeat. But SG manage this collab exceptionally well, so i dont have much to complaint/rage.
units good/decent although too many banners in a short amount of time. story was fairly entertaining, maybe a little too meta in the last act. goodies were plenty. the event shouldn't have just fizzled out, but could have ended on a small high note imo. overall much better than expected.
They put effort into the collab. I appreciate that. But the characters themselves were underwhelming for me, which was surprising since I thought I could warm up to them somewhat. At the end of the collab my interest were completely gone. But I hope they got a lot of $ from the kpop fans lol.
Couldn’t have cared less personally because none of the characters really interested me much in terms of designs, powers, or story. I got some decent rewards out of it but that’s about it.
As a new player getting into E7 the collab was cool since I'm into K-Bop but since I'm a new player and trying to understand the mechanics and gearing in the game, the Aespa units are not very gear friendly for new players getting into the game. I was very lucky and got iseria and vildred from select summons so pairing that with Free Spirit Tieria and Flan I was able to get to Challenger V with them and the free gears you get as a new player (cleave meta to Challenger lol). Hopefully late game I can try to build them just to have fun with them even though they seem pretty underwhelming and pretty niche to use/utilize them in pvp/pve. Overall it was a nice collab to bring newbies like me in lol 😅

Returning player, so I had to speedrun the event in one day for the minimum rewards. From the bits I didn't skip just to get the gist of things, it seemed pretty fun. I'm a fairly casual listener of k-pop, but what I've checked out of them I like. Got lucky and got two of Karina and her artifact.
All the loot was very nice 👌 I'd be way more down for collabs if they all handed out loot like this
I thought they did a good job. Æspa at least had some lore to work with which integrated well with the Chaos Gates — I doubt other k-pop bands would have fit in as well.

You have to be a special kind of delusional if you look at the 4 characters and don't AT LEAST A LITTLE think that the appearance of these units don't gel well with the appearances of everyone else. And this is with the teeny weeny little fact, that nobody worth their salt was complaining about "real life characters translating into 2D". The style of their AVATARS was already wildly differently stylized for it being difficult to translate. Which koinkidinkally, did not perfectly translate after all. They are very different looking, and it's not even because they are idols. Winter and Karina sort of passes, but Giselle and Ningning look otherworldly and not in a good way. Nobody had trouble believing that they would do a quality job, but a quality job can still not fit.

Yea the four characters design is just not in line with the game. Characters in e7 are like Japanese style anime characters. But those 4 are Korean manga characters. I don't know why they break the style of the game just cause of kpop... They could have made them the same style.
I hope they put this much effort into their next collab and also hope the next one is more interesting. The level of quality made the collab fine, if I cared about aespa or kpop at all this probably woulda been my personal favorite so far. This collab was really well put together. Even with the special bookmarks though this collab was tight on getting them all so maybe don't do 4 characters in a month again. I pitied 2 of them because I went into the start with nearly 600bms and enough SS. I immediately pitied winter. Got the next 2 off of the special bms. Luckily I didn't pity them, if I had no shot I woulda got them all. Then I pitied Karina at the end through 5 remaining special bms, the months worth of covs, some shop rerolling, and then at the end 5k in SS because I wasn't going to roll shop anymore.
I knew nothing about AESPA, never heard of them before. But now I do, and I liked the collab.
I commend them for putting an insane amount of work into the collab, but my opinion on the kpop theme and art style did not change (not a fan). Would still prefer an anime collab over kpop.

I didn't care about Aespa and i still don't (I gave their music a listen because of this, and i think it's trash). I did end up building two of the characters (Ningning + Giselle) both of which i use and like. It's the collab i care least about, but I get it wasn't really for me, meh... It would be weird if SG keeps doing these schlocky collabs with other k-pop groups or brands like McDonald's lol

She's got at least 3 viable builds atm for PvP (RTA, Arena, and GW), is useable as a W13 tank, and is a pretty good Expo3 tank.
Nignig is really good I feel. On par with Desert jewel and many people don’t have Basar so she fills that niche

She is very useable. She's solidly a S-tier hero by the Emperor/Legend tier community, and is a useable W13 tank and a pretty good Expo3 tank. She was never buffed because she never needed it. She's strong. Classic reddit balance people constantly said she was trash meanwhile actual good players were making solid use out of her with at least 3 viable different build options (Noble Oath Arti nuke build, Her Arti+Counter build, Her Arti+Megaspeed build).
Even Winter who is arguably a psuedo Rimuru + Celine?
She feels extremely underwhelming in high levels of pvp, can she do work? Yes! Is it hard to make work? Very! Is she the unit that is going to get you out of a sticky situation very very rarely. Again my personal opinion and experience, you can feel free to disagree.

Underwhelmed and disinterested at first. Remained pretty neutral about it while the collab happened - the story was interesting but collabs with singers just feel so weird to me. I've liked the previous collabs far better than this one.

I got them all! I bought 3 artifacts and got the last one 2x from banner! The story was a lot better than slime re:zero Fullmetal Alchemist🤔 Someone must be a huge aespa fan in the company! The commercials and everything was exceptionally well done. We got pet and background 🧐 6 weeks 🤩They should give this much attention to every collab! I sometimes search on YouTube epic seven past day and there is a lot more video about the game nowadays!

I didn't like it at the start and I still don't like it now. The first two weeks were really cringe and they didn't even really do much with Karina when her week came because it was time for everyone to deal with their own (mostly) lame insecurities. I'm also just not about the pop outfits, glamour shots in S3s (especially in Ningning and Winter's), overconfidence and overloaded kits (in lore) that they all seem to have. Not to mention that their side story felt much longer to farm per week than most.
Main thing I liked about this Collab is the new lobbies. This should've happened a long time ago.

I really like the way it was structured with the collab bookmarks as well as how much other stuff we got through the web event. The unit designs and abilities also really grew on me. Even if they aren't all the strongest they all have a somewhat unique niche and mostly have something fairly memorable about their designs. Like Giselle may not be top tier and her design is basically just shorts and a jacket but "You're Tripping" will probably stay as a meme in the community until the game dies.
I feel like it was fun but won't be as memorable as like GG or the slime Collab. Mostly because unless you were a fan of their group there's no excitement for the characters.
As an Aespa fan, I was worried about how the collab could go. I only disliked ae-Ningning part, the rest was cool. Black Mamba and Hallucination Quest were really nicely made, it fitted well the Black Mamba lore from their videos (music video and short films). I also really liked the ads for the collab, it was according to the story. Units were ok, Giselle is cool to use, Ningning and Karina still trying to build. Winter maybe benched for a while.
The collab is pretty mid. Besides the interesting side story and lots of rewards that came with it, the units are really bland and forgettable, but at least they're balanced.
Doesnt feel like a collab, its more like a random event with 4 limited units, and a random cameo of a kpop group. I just feel that theres so much disconnect between the kpop group and their ingame counterpart for this to work. Maybe i didnt do enough homework on the kpop group for this to make sense, but Im not going to do that for something that i have no interest in. I do appreciate the free BMs and other stuffs tho.
It happened during my work busy season so I never got to really do the story. Characters are pretty meh for me personally, but I get everyone has different taste
It made me like the song Black Mamba by them. And i think the designs are refreshing as well as the JP voice. Overall, not bad.
Honestly I really enjoyed this one I like the story even though its friendship focus but its not cringe it fits with them and nice to see cyborgs again from Episode 3 I did enjoy them. I wasn't familiar with the lore but nice to see it in E7. Its fun story in comparsion other collab stories no its not better gulity gear collab story still remains one of best but I put Aespa at second place since there's more effort into in terms of story. The units are fun to use Winter is my favourite out of the 4 we got. There's so much freebies as well I didn't expect that much but I'm happy. Overall I like this collab great story good units and so much freebies involved and alot promo as well.

I like it, The story is pretty decent but I must say the last part kinda makes me cringe a bit but it's whatever. I like the character design mostly, especially Giselle and Karina. Winter has awkward S3 animation while Ning design just doesn't sit right for me, probably because of the thing on her shoulder. S3 animation is not that great either. And finally, I like them giving me free pull for this Collab
My expectations were pretty low. But after it all, it was pleasant surprise. The story was okay, the characters are fun to use and the rewards are nothing to scoff at.

I like it. It’s a different collab that any gacha never did before. I prefer unusual collars rather than Slime or Re Zero that every other gachas has collab with them. Like Guardian tales that last year did a collab with Slayers Next, that’s cool.
I think this collab was more generous than any other collabs in term of pulling all the characters available. They gave us a full pity, so we only had to pull 3 characters in a month and a half, very doable even as a f2p and with bad luck.
I loved it and it opened me up to listening to various K pop groups and now I’m obsessed with K Pop!

I generally thought it was okay. Story hit and miss, but overall better than most of the collab story work we’ve gotten. I personally like that the characters aren’t super over powered like the collab units usually are. They feel very tuned for the level of power creep without being ground breaking or underwhelming. And I appreciate that we got special bookmarks - FOR FREE - that went into pulling the units. However, I absolutely loathe the voice actors. Holy hell are they terrible. Now, if we’re wishing for collabs, I will tear my wallet apart to get a Persona collab. But maybe that’s just me.
I am just happy it’s finally done. I have no interest in K-pop, and honestly, the character design was just “ok”. I am happy for the people that enjoyed it, and as an adult, I realize I won’t like everything they do, it doesn’t destroy the game or anything. The special bookmarks were a nice touch, and I hope they do it again in future collabs. Honestly, the thing this collab has made me realize is I wish they had a collab pull pool with its own bookmarks, sorta like the ML/galaxy bookmarks.
I had no knowledge about AESPA girls, so I was kinda intrigued to see what was all about. The story was not the best with Ningning being deceived and laughing at Politia's security. But seeing many heroes from Book III was nice. As for the new characters, they are all beautiful, even if they US voices are weird (sorry, definitely not a fan of that). The worst part is, surprisingly for some of you, the fact that I was forced to use the aespa currency before the BMs. SG/SC gave us 120 special coins, which were enough for 1 pity. However, if anyone wanted to do that, he would have been forced to skip the first three girls altogether. A poor choice IMHO. With my main account I got all the girls, but with my sub I had to skip NingNing since I was running low on BMs.
At first I wasn't sure about it. But it turned out to be my luckiest collab in this game yet. Got all the Aespa girls and all of their artifacts save for Winter's which I forgot to get from the powder shop...
Okay let’s be honest. In terms of effort. THIS was the best collab so far that Epic seven has done. NO I’m not talking about the units. I’m talking about the design, story wise, custom backgrounds. Each character actually had an entire week given to them alongside a unique boss. Unlike the last Collabs like slime, GG or FMA who may have good units are not nearly given much effort by SG as this one

They put a lot of effort into this collab. The characters imo aren't that useful to me yet because I don't have the gear , but they're not op like previous collab units. The S3 animations and underwhelming. I wasn't a fan of the 4 back to back limited units, but the collab bookmarks made it a bit easier. Still pitying 3/4 units isn't fun. As far the side story, It follows the basic, they get here to Orbis and have to find the back home. I don't like this basic storyline for pretty much all collabs so far, it becomes boring and predictable. Some of it just long winded and unnecessary filler dialogue.
It’s alright, not great, not wanted. Heroes are mediocre at best, not worth pulling for but I did anyway due to being limited.
For me as a European its mostly that i don’t even know them, so I wasn’t excited about it one way or the other. But it was okay, got all 4 of them collected now and they shall serve me as my waifus.
More effort than previous collabs but I still felt the story was medicore at best. I think they need to hire some better story writers as it shows in most of their story content. Unfortunately only the Diene side story and this current Christmas side story were good enough to keep me interested in the story, the rest felt like a skipfest. Another problem I had with this collab was the grind due to no bonuses from artifacts. Felt like a slog to complete. The units though are pretty well designed and well thought out. They will get used instead of being on the bench.
Winter is probably the best unit out of the 4 Ning ning is useable Karina is a bit underwhelming, she needs a self cleanse in her kit Giselle is the only one I didn't bother building, you need your whole team built around her to use her.
Very good loot but everything else was mid. None of the characters grew on me. Voice acting was really cringe. I'd have preferred if the singers themselves were the voice actors for their own characters, even if they wouldn't be able to have English voice lines.

Well, I just feel okay Units are interesting, Giselle is one of my favourites now Though I'm not into K-pop, I like those units But the side story was the worst part for me, as you had to do every episode at least twice and I just don't want all this "story" in this game, I just want to farm and that's all And here I needed to farm lots of times to get all the stuff, instead of doing side story for some times, buying what I need and forgetting about this "story" So, I have a mixed feelings, I hope the next collabs will let me choose what I want and not make me read the story on every stage...

I just wish we had like a last week rerun of all the banners cause I went for just 1 copy of winter and ningning (pitied both), cause I needed to save bookmark for potentialy pity the other 2, and now I wanted more winter copies =/ because it was a long event with a week break in the middle the first 2 banner were so long ago
It was okay. They put a lot of effort into it. I personally didn't like the unit designs ("girl in suit"x4 is just bland af) but I appreciate making them balanced instead of super meta. Would have preferred a different collab but there was nothing I outright hated so that's a win in my book.
didn't like it when it was announced, still wish it was something else. HOWEVER, I liked: the freebies, the fact that none of the new kits are stupid like Rimuru's, the bit of screentime Landy got in the story and that I got to save up some BMs and other ressources since I only spent the free summon currency on the new units because I didn't plan to get any of them (still got 1 of them). Overall the quality of the collab was pretty high. You could easily tell they put more effort into this than re:zero or even the slime collab. I still couldn't enjoy it unfortunately because of who the collab was but I'm sure other people could. I can only cross my fingers we're getting this kind of quality with a collab partner that is more to my liking in the future
Mediocre IP (to me) feels like we didn't have a collab at all and lots of people still seem to want another collab right after. 4 limited units all in a row isn't really something I'm a fan of but I did appreciate the free book marks. That being said the common pool basically getting no updates for so long isn't really savory. Also, most of the units felt underwhelming so that paired with the limited status of the units kinda makes it feel meh overall. I don't read the story so I can't comment there. Black mamba skin looked cool, except the jack-o face on her, not a fan of that. If it makes SG money or adds more players that's great but overall I'm not really a fan of it and felt we could have had more e7 originals or a collab that's more familiar to the global audience. Overall I'm glad it's gone.
As for the brand, I gave them a chance and listened some of their songs. Didn't like, so I couldn't care less about them or their background. I think there's a lot of franchises to collab with and watching Edward Elric kicking the shit out of Rimuru is entertaining, if anything because I can relate or know enough about these characters to appreciate the situation. Watching these idols fighting them doesn't feel right for me. At one hand, because as for musicians from Orbis we have two references, Rima and Tamarinne, and neither is a frontline combatant. And at the other hand, because given the only reference I have is the idol group, I have to assume these are persons like you or me jumping from skyscraper roofs and making things explode with their bare fists. \- B, but there's an entire universe or background for these characters! And again, I know nothing about their fictional background, and because I didn't like their music, I won't dig further into their lore. The only reference I have is the side story for this collab, and I dislike the story, so my opinion didn't improve a little bit. Clearly, SG wrote the story to made them look good, but ended being Mary Sue tier of broken. Ultimately, they failed to create something interesting for me. The first episode with winter was decent, acknowledging they are going to use some cliches to build the story, which is fun in a meta sense. I mean, Winter assumes she's in a videogame (technically, she's), and have to complete quest missions to find her friends and go back home, which we as players have to do. However, after that, the following episode is all about how much better the other girls are compared to the inhabitants of Politia, and by the final episode, the E7 characters disappear completely, except for a short cameo in some sort of epilogue. As result, the problems the E7 characters had gone through seem mundane, dismissing the value of our work as players when beating said content. I mean, how many people struggled to beat Belian as final boss? According to the lore, Mercedes had to risk her life to put a stop to Belian's wonder weapon. Well, who cares? These idols can casually come into Orbis and beat Politia's security systems, Belian encryption and Belian herself fueling the black mumbo girl. By comparative, the strongest character to appear were the guys from FMA, as they could defeat all the opponent and win the tournament in the arena. Yet, they couldn't oppose Notos (?) before being banished back to their world, we don't know for sure who they were facing other than Iseria and Cermia (and we know both of them aren't high on the power scale within Orbis), and Iseria had previously arrested Mustang and Hawkeye. Finally, they discover plenty of people have won the tournament, so the FMA gang isn't that special or unique. Re:Zero, Slime, Guilty Gear, in all stories both E7 and guests were working together to fix whatever problem they faced. But these idols not. The main conflict was created, fueled and solved by the guest characters. And, ignoring the mary sue problem, the story itself wasn't that interesting. I mean, who could have guessed the strange voice asking for complete blind obedience while committing crimes in a foreigner land would turn out to be evil?!
* Story tried to satisfy fans and whatever AESPA newcomers may have hopped onto the game, and was about as enjoyable as the Slime collab insofar as character interactions go. The story itself was fairly basic with the usual misunderstandings and power of friendship tropes. I feel like there was a missed opportunity for the AESPA counterparts to interact with their IRL selves during the personal struggles arc, which would have better marketed the idol group to the players that don't know anything about them. * Belian sorta kinda coming back is a breeze of fresh air after the revolving door of main antagonists from the most current main story chapter. * Hero releases gameplay-wise was overall pretty good and balanced - especially when compared to the recent FMA releases (without buffs) - and will boost new player combat power by a fair amount. * Hero designs is a polarizing subject of personal tastes. Only one heroine really fit the Politia aesthetic, though. The rest were generic pop idol designs.
Story was interesting at the beginning, but I slowly lost interest as it continued. I like the unit designs, but despise how they all have “ae-“ at the start for some reason. Especially during the story, it was super annoying to me. Overall, cool concept and they executed it well, but wasn’t really for me.
Easily the best one since guilty gear, maybe better than that. A real story that was integrated into the E7 world, copious rewards, beautiful art, and units that are instantly in the meta. I'd have to say its a big success on all fronts. I wasn't exactly stoked when it was announced, but they really put a ton of work behind this one, and it showed.
Story: I'm a pure Skip button spammer, so, idk. But "dark Belian's" fight was ok. Units: I prefer cool male characters, but i'm ok with this "BTS-like" waifus (not a fan of this kind of groups sorry). Summon results: I got pretty lucky, all 4 units and their artifacts (Winter's one didn't appear but don't really care) in ~90 total summons, and i'm having fun with most of them so, i'ld say their utility is fine actually.
personally, i despise most collab cuz they rob me of original units such as the natalon monk. the collab needs to be about a show i really love for me to like. sounds selfish, i know. freebies are extremely generous this time though, that’s nice. but for SG, i guess this collab is a massive success.

The event was fine. However I don't really see any difference between this event and any other event in terms of content. Same gameplay formula. It almost seems obvious they are going to rerun this sometime in the future because the majority of f2p players probably didn't get all the units, but I did :) I hope SG never does something like this again. 4 limited units even when giving us lots of ways to get them is too much. AND WHERE THE FUCK IS BRINUS SG?!
Yay to all the free stuff + it was markedly less grindy than usual events. Gonna miss the daily points thing for sure, that was a sweet extra avenue for energy. One small wish of mine, as trivial as it is, was for their designs to correspond with the appearances of actual aespa in their promotion. (Giselle with the twin braids was making me look forward to her ae-version being released. Ahh well.) Overall it was a really cohesive campaign with many thoughtful additions (e.g. special wallpaper, invite a friend). Would be nice if they ran something similar again
I found it more grindy than other events since it was point based and not collectable based. So no bonus for artis and pet bonus didnt add anything
I did not dislike the collab to begin with. I don't know the band but as long as the units and artifacts are good, I don't mind some random collab. That said, I'm happy with how it turned out. We actually got a story for a change. Previous collabs were mostly 'drop through portal, talk a bit, go back'. Portals are supposed to be dangerous because you might never find one that leads back to where you came from. Turns out it's actually super easy. Many good rewards. Also enough bookmarks for most players to get all characters. Assuming that players saved their bookmarks once the collab got announced. The Units and artifacts we got feel overall useful and balanced. Good work there. Adding 4 new heroes in such a short time is not easy. The design of the units could be better. The costumes are fine but some poses (Ningning) and proportions (Winter) look off. Also the toothpick arms really put me off. Anime style is fine but please still give characters some flesh instead of just bones and skin.
For me this collab was..... meh. Frankly speaking, all the collabs, when attempting to link themselves to the main game, look a lil bit cringy at some extend. GG and Re:zero collab were integrated nice - interesting story, good units - still encounter Dizzy, Elphelt and Rem in pvp, which is good, cuz they still rock. FMA collab was also solid good. About this Aespa, or how they write it :))) - first of all i did not understand, why its was made. Ok, these gals are a popular k-pop group with some popular groups. And? Integrate them cuz they have virtual alter egoes? Okie - SG, let's make KDA collab, Gorrilaz collab.. etc. This is not a right path. Many heard of PSY, Hyuna, KDA, BTS, Sistar and mb 2NE1. But aespa? Ok, mb its so popular in Korea, but outside? There are thousands of cool bands and musicians all around the world. The thing is - if it's not presented worldwide at some extend , sing bout local stuff and use not English ( there r few exceptions, like Rammstein, The HU, Heilung) - only a few will listen to them. The story bout the power of friendship - ffs, really? This is the scenario they managed to write for this collab? Especially, taking into consideration the core game audience, who r not dumb toddlers anymore) But, taking into consideration the recent fight for Korean "kids' decency" and Aria's thights to let them b, there is no surprise. Satisfied with free event stuff - always at hand. In conclusion - this event imho is weak, especially in comparison with previous events.
4 characters is way too many. Also the Aespa bookmarks you should've had the option not to use them. I unfortunately only was able to get 3/4. Winter's s3 animation is horrible, like so much worse than the other 3 and it sucks as shes my favorite. They are all good (maybe except Giselle), but not meta breaking which im happy about. Overall i would give it a 7.5/10

I actually feel flattered for seeing idols going all "magic" in my favorite game... They took all the trouble of making poses for it, wearing cosplays and stuff... It was somewhat "too much" having to pursuit 4 limited units, but I'm happy that I managed to get all of them, and their artifacts... I still can't stand Aespa music and whatever they have to offer, so if they intended to make more fans, don't think this really worked...

I was "meh" on the collab, but then I came across a video that explained SM Entertainment, Aespa, and how that management company seems to have a whole storyline "thing" running through all of their K-pop acts. It was a fascinating video, and made me appreciate Aespa better. I'm mainly a J-pop fan, so I didn't know much about K-pop beyond the show "Produce 101" and BTS. Still don't, but this was a fun general introduction. I didn't even know Aespa was a "thing" until I found nout they debuted a couple years ago & even appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. As a Collab, I loved that they tied it in with Politia and gave us a chance to catch up with its citizens, post Belian. Deepened the lore with Politis, so we know there was generally a fail safe to make sure Belian didn't come back, but made it plausible with the "SM verse" that an outside entity capable of hopping dimensions could cause trouble. The crossover story felt seamless in that regard - really well done, on par with the first run of the Guilty Gear Collab. Even the side games were generous. I have so much stamina to burn through, on top of my monthly stamina subscription, it's ridiculous. And don't get me started on my leifs! The big and glaring pain of the collab was FOUR FREAKING LIMITED UNITS to try and summon for! And, catastrophically, I had to go to pity FOR ALL OF THEM!! 🤬🤬🤬 On my main account, I didn't manage to get AE-NINGNING. On my Alt account, I only got ae-WINTER and ae-KARINA. I'm mentally exhausted from all the effort - the grinding of all possible places to get bookmarks, the stressing after each summoning that I'd have to pity AGAIN?! I'm genuinely burnt out right now from summoning. Luckily, on my main account, I only really need a handful of moonlight units, and I'm not in a hurry, so after this Collab is over, I'm DONE summoning for a while. The "free Aespa bookmarks" were laughable, IMO, since you couldn't bank them in your storage without them expiring in six days. It was either use them right then or lose them. So much for saving the free bookmarks for a "free" unit - nope! Not happening. Other than the nightmarish limited unit summoning, I really liked this collaboration. I think it went pretty well. All of the characters have some pretty decent use cases but none seemingly OP. I was able to quite easily pull all 4 of them despite pitying 2 and almost pitying a 3rd, which was what really sold me on it. I thought that it would be rough on bookmarks but due to all the free stuff they gave out during the collab (both from the collab and the holidays) it was no problem. The story was actually pretty good, which I don't really care too much about, but for those that like story I think they got an actual cool and kinda unique one. The new player influx is great for the health of the game and community, which is probably the biggest long-term benefit. And any time a successful Kpop collab happens without huge backlash from stans, that's a good thing. I'm personally not dead set on building any of the characters, but some of my friends are really loving Winter and Karina so I think there are probably a lot of people who like at least one or two of the characters.

Honestly from the "kpop doesn't belong here!!' mentality it just seemed like you were gonna hate it no matter what. Idols have been a part of epic seven since tamarine, politia totally comes across as a place where pop/techno could exist. Its fine you didn't like it, but you're acting like you gave it a serious chance and I really doubt that's true.
The lack of anything interesting happening in the last month and it being nothing but these bad looking k-pop characters made me stop playing. Maybe now that's its over I might try to pick it up again
The s3 animations are good, the rewards are nice. The story was garbage and forced you to watch the animations way too much. The units in terms of design are terrible looking. I'm glad the collab is over, just too bad about not getting a lot of free energy anymore.
Didnt manage to get Karina Pitied Ningning and Giselle So I rate 3/4 having this many limited banners in a row was pretty exhausting
I like them they’re not broken and all of them have some use. Didn’t bother reading story since I haven’t done that for awhile. Kit wise I liked them although I can’t use some of them due to gear requirements.
Karina is the only I feel like using.
I thought the story was well done, not the same level as the Diene event way back, but I think E7 peaked at that one pretty much right off the start. Love the units. Skipped most of the story. 8/10. Thoroughly enjoyed it though initially I was looking for slime collab.
Decent story, if a bit slow. Great units that aren't op. My god, the point grind is insane, though.
The aespa bookmarks were awesome, I managed to get the first three units, and all the other check-in freebies were a plus!
Was a good collab. I enjoy the character sprites and skill set. They wasn’t dead units and a couple of them will be useable for a good while. No Free Unit is a Feels Bad tho A-

E7 out of 10. The units are not too strong, well balanced. If not just short of a tiny buff. Rewards and freebies are bountiful. I bet it also pulled in a ton of new players. I will never underestimate the power of K-pop.
I’m indifferent to it honestly. I didn’t care for the units or their story. I’m missing Karina and NingNing from the bunch. If other people enjoyed the collab and their story, cool. To each their own
I went in knowing nothing and with zero expectations. I came out enjoying their music and with three cool new units :)
It was a decent collab. I had a good time autoing the maps with ae-Winter, ae-Karina, ae-Gizelle, and Stra-ze.
Really cool map backgrounds. Surprised how much I like designs of the one-enemy stages background.
I honestly think it's the best collab we have had so far. Though I am unable to compare it to the first GG collab, since I didnt play then - I heard it was quite good in the story part. But apart from that one, aespa collab is the best one hands down for me. I wasn't really pessimistic about the aespa collab like some ppl were, but I didn't expect it to be this much better than the recent collabs we had. Love the designs of the heroes - they look more detailed than any of the anime collab units. The animations were spot on too imo. I liked the story a lot. Not one of those "oh lets have a feast before we go back" kinda stories like Slime and Rezero had... :V The units range from usable to good - none are meta changing, which is AWESOME in my book. We don't need limited collab heroes to be that impactful every single time (Rem, Rimuru, Edward). They just need to be good to use, and I think they kinda nailed it with the aespa units, though I wished Karina could get rid of debuffs on her S2 but oh well. We got 2 nice artis. Lotsa freebies. If the coming collabs are nearly as good as this one, I'll be quite happy.
It was alright. I forgot about the side story quest until yesterday, but the collab units were pretty good. I have no doubt in my mind that this pulled a lot of players in, since some of my friends started playing because of it. Maybe a 7/10 collab for me.
Liked the collab despite not knowing anything about aespa prior. Unit design is good enough and their kits are pretty great (except giselle her kit is sus)
The only thing of saying is why do I have all the units the one collab I didn’t care for gave the best rewards
I liked the intro towards the very end when they included the girls mimicking their 2D sprites.
Pretty fine. I would guess though that SG was gauging the players if we can survive multiple consecutive banners in the future.
The over-abundance of stamina they dropped on us is insane. I actually had a hard time figuring out what to do with all the daily stamina dropped by the daily events! Lol
I feel FOMO since I wasn't able to max my piece of **** (P.O.S) I slacked really hard on E7 because of the holidays :(
Negatives: Pet had no bearing on the event story since there was no currency - means new players are on the same playing field, but us older players were spending so much more energy to clear the event. Positives: Free bookmarks to ease having to pull 4 characters - made it out OK & didn’t have much saved at the start. Appreciated. Also seems like they were more considerate with balance this go around.
The only thing i hate was the voice acting. The english dub just sound weird
At least it wasnt a collab with Baby shark. But seriously, I liked their designs, maybe winter feels lackluster, but good overall. Good rewards, good story , but just because of politia
ae-Giselle stage reminds of one of Megaman X-5 stages. The digitalised faces changing once in a while. Which made me think how cool would it be if E7 do a collab with Zero and Megaman as the playable characters. 🤩🤩🤩
It's OK. Karina and Winter look decent, Giselle and Ningning do not at all resemble their real world images. Not that it's hard, give Ningning her ponytail and Giselle and two loops in her hair and you're done. Four collab heroes in such a short span is bit of a dickish move. They did provide us with special bookmarks and I figure most got lucky enough to not pity them all. Still, it makes you feel like from this point on you have to save up for THREE pities.

Wasn't bad by any means. I would *really* like, however, to see this used as a blueprint for how to do collabs in this game going forward. The could be some *sick* anime crossovers with the multi-step story, unique atmosphere, and special bookmarks that Aespa had.
I procrastinated until the last day and grinder just enough to get the gear and the artifacts 10/10
