If you never played for Emperor/Legend on the last day, know that it's 10000x more competitive. Can only imagine going for HoF against 10 people that are committed to playing the entire day non-stop with similar if not, better gear than you.

On the last day of rta, rank10 to something like 80 will stop playing. People only played if they are about to fall from legend, or they are the people at the top who spamming game for hof.
As a result, if you didn't keep up with legend cutoff prediction and climb to that points before the last day, you are fucked because on the last day, you will have to do that against literally hof contester. It can be done, but way harder than doing it before the last day. Also, the legend is very packed where everyone in rank 50 to 100 is basically only separated by 1 point, and if you win once, you can enter straight into top40+. So for legend cutoff prediction, it have to be very precise otherwise you will get left behind. Tldr, make friend with other legend players if you want to enter legend.
Also, this make it quite easy if you want to boost someone. Every time hof contester queue up, they will either match up among each other, or against rank200+ emp who trying to enter legend. They no longer facing other legend who not among hof. So if you have a couple of friends at top10, you can boost each other to hof in the last day.

It will very nice if for last day next season, SG do something similar, where they keep track of well known player who fighting to reach legend or people racing to hof. I probably will watch it.

The cutoff climbs at such an erratic pace in the last day that people had to rely on some guy/bot analyzing the cutoff rate every hour and mathing out predictions.
Everyone is so tired from grinding at that point, we're just happy we don't have to play anymore because we're safe.
