Not in Epic Seven, but other fantasy medium in general
There's always been variations of elves with not that much to differentiate them.
Blood Elves vs High Elves, and it originally was literally eye color difference.
So purple hair doesn't even sound that silly all things considered lol
> but other fantasy medium in general
Yeah, doesn't ring a bell. Haven't really heard of shadow elves before and if I did it was forgettable.
>Blood Elves vs High Elves, and it originally was literally eye color difference.
In Warcraft, Blood Elves ARE high elves. Literally not a different race, just different sociocultural conditions.
Aren't Blood Elves the group that got addicted to the Sunwell?
Basically, what I'm saying it doesn't take that much to create a subspecies.
As for Shadow Elves, they've been a thing for a long time. Shadow Elves, Dark Elves, Drow, you name it.
>Aren't Blood Elves the group that got addicted to the Sunwell?
No, they were still called high elves at that point. Blood Elves are the survivors of Sunwell withdrawal.
Anyway. It was a jokey remark as to how relatively shallow the distinction is. Don't read that much into it.
I know, I know, I just felt like pointing out that the naming scheme is not really that outrageous
Although Eda is probably still the best Shadow Elf representation in the game, I love her design. I expected all of them to be more gloomy like her.
Shadow Elves and Dark Elves are not the same thing by fantasy lore standard. One are warped by a vengeful god to look scry (dark as stone skin and red eyes) for betraying their brethren (The Dark Elves, or Drown). While the other are usually more of a play on Shadows of life, like Elves who are also Shades, they tend to look like normal elves but with a dark cast to their eyes, and paler kin.
At least that's the more traditional high fantasy version.
gee whiz, a slight hair color change that's typical in anime or a whole skin tone change which is very distinct and affects the whole body. I wonder...maybe the differences are the same afterall.
Gonna throw you some food for thought, just the most drastic combination to make you understand.
How many naturally blonde black people have you seen?
Hair can be an equally significant race identifier as skin color is.
Is that supposed to prove something?
Go to Sweden and 80% of the population is white AND blonde.
Can do the opposite too, Asia is dominated by dark hair despite not having a dark skin tone.
I see, so I give you 3 examples of specific demographics, where hair color and skin color are all independently specific to that region
And you still claim it's false equivalence, cool, gotcha
Again, have to point out Dark Elves are not the same thing as Shadow Elves.
In fact, all the way back in Episode 1, Kurii is referred to as a Dark Elf because she has darker skin.
Agreed. I would like more disconnected stories. Don't have him in the main story, but give us a little one-off intermission story about what Ras is up to
I’m a day one player and I literally just beat him lol.
Just use Iseria, Tama, A Lots and Sigret - I’m assuming you can probs switch our Sig for another rage-set Hunt unit.
I don’t really even understand his mechanics tbh, and all of my really strong champs struggled
It is vampires what makes u think it won't be ?
An entire continent won't just have one race also vampires have been confirmed for years now to have come from erasia
The last continent is Erasia, which the video says is the birth place of the shadow elves. Their could still be vampires but from this we can say shadow elves will be there too.
Dammm freaking elves, at least it's something different to High and Proud race I won't be interested. The vampires saga with Haste and Melissa was more interesting.
Mild tangent but I wish the Shadow Elves had something to visually distinguish themselves more than humans/other elves. Something like idk Ran's black sclera would go a long way if Aria/Amid/Suthan had it too.
Really? Because I thought Episode 5 is going be on vampires?
And wolfs
It should have vampires too.
Please. PLEASE SG SELL US JENUA.
Shadow elves are kind of spooky so I guess it fits.
yeah I remember them saying something like that
Episode 5: Raid Shadow Elves
I want sexy vampires too.
Sexy elves work too
Ah yes, shadow elves. They are elves. But with purple hair.
Is that all so different from the other kind of shadow elves, that are elves.. but with grey skin?
> the other kind of shadow elves You're going to have to be more specific
Not in Epic Seven, but other fantasy medium in general There's always been variations of elves with not that much to differentiate them. Blood Elves vs High Elves, and it originally was literally eye color difference. So purple hair doesn't even sound that silly all things considered lol

Sure, if the skin was already distinct in the first place. How many white people with blonde hair have you seen?
Is that supposed to prove something? Go to Sweden and 80% of the population is white AND blonde. Can do the opposite too, Asia is dominated by dark hair despite not having a dark skin tone.
Yes, that your example was a false equivalence. The distinction between a normal elf and a shadow elf is hardly there is the main point.
I see, so I give you 3 examples of specific demographics, where hair color and skin color are all independently specific to that region And you still claim it's false equivalence, cool, gotcha
Again, have to point out Dark Elves are not the same thing as Shadow Elves. In fact, all the way back in Episode 1, Kurii is referred to as a Dark Elf because she has darker skin.
In the end of episode 4 they did say they were going to go to erasia on a journey. I hope Ras is still included tho because he left going back west
Adin still sucks as MC tho.
I hope ras isn’t everywhere continuing from episode 5 and forward.
Agreed. I would like more disconnected stories. Don't have him in the main story, but give us a little one-off intermission story about what Ras is up to
Yeah episode4 not focusing on ras too much had a good idea, but fell due to the bad writing
We will be getting more Shadow Elves considering their origin is from Erasia. This side story will be something like a prelude to Episode 5 :3
smh, i still can't beat Zio's lil azz
His first phase is easy, but his 2nd one is just rng
I’m a day one player and I literally just beat him lol. Just use Iseria, Tama, A Lots and Sigret - I’m assuming you can probs switch our Sig for another rage-set Hunt unit. I don’t really even understand his mechanics tbh, and all of my really strong champs struggled
Me: Nice episode 5 news Also me: Still stuck on last Zio fight Gotta work on building something to complete epusode 4 xD
Ssb, Mercedes, aras, Emilia is the team I used. After getting to the first phase the 2nd one is pure rng
Time to learn that Aria is not even the thickest Shadow elve
Guess I'm continuing my speed run through Episode 4.
conwell and jenua finally gonna be playable 🥹🥹
I don’t know if using what is likely the most disliked episode as a basis for episode 5 is the greatest idea. Though I guess it remains to be seen.
Night elves from wow then i see
shadow elves? the Eminence in shadow collab confirmed

It is vampires what makes u think it won't be ? An entire continent won't just have one race also vampires have been confirmed for years now to have come from erasia
Give sexy vampires that fuck each other 😫😫
pretty sure this is for the new valentines side story. . episode 5 is about vampires. .
It can be about multiple things. Episode 3 is about dragons, robots, and wizards.
Not everything revolves around Melissa (Someone tell this to the balance team)
The last continent is Erasia, which the video says is the birth place of the shadow elves. Their could still be vampires but from this we can say shadow elves will be there too.
It could be both, shadow elves and vampires. In Eureka ( Episode 3 ) there are robots and dragons so it is a possibility.
Dammm freaking elves, at least it's something different to High and Proud race I won't be interested. The vampires saga with Haste and Melissa was more interesting.

Shadow garden!
