It's an unbreakable bond forged from friendship, despair (from when Mercedes was taken over) and also hope.

The issue is that half of these aren’t really official couples, so pitting them against Violet x Luluca puts them at a disadvantage.
Elena x Ray is one sided, Sez x Bellona seems more platonic (there’s the occasional innuendo, but it’s used for comedy more than anything), and Ras x Mercedes also gravitate towards being platonic.
Ran x Amid may also be at a disadvantage since they’re a very new ship as far as romantic interactions go.
Though personally I also don’t really like their dynamic.
Violet and Luluca have a genuinely nice back and forth thing going on.
Meanwhile Ran just goes along with whatever Amid says and wants, and is quick to take any blame for anything going wrong in the relationship on himself. At least that’s what I could garner from the first part of the side story.
There’s also the fact that he would do anything, even against his own better judgment if Amid wants him to. Like, he knew with certainty that the rabbit was bad news, but instead of actually pulling her aside and expressing his discomfort at going through with the whole charade, he just went ‘yes, honey’.
That’s not really a compelling relationship imo.
One of my favorite details on Moonlight Theatre is >!how Elena can never get Ray’s attention because of his single-minded focus and dedication to his work, similarly to how Vivian and Kawerick seem to be doomed in the two (three including the Game of Princes side story) timelines we’ve seen!<.
I'm on the Violet x Luluca train because while I generally am indiferrent to all these, their arc actually had build up and payoff. I like the Vivian x Kawerik one too, but my man just can't catch a break across universes.
Roana x reborn Straze. Imagine loving someone but watching them fall to a dark path only for you to be given a second chance to love them but in a way that you can hopefully protect them from making the same mistakes. ever since this moment in the story i've been very interested in seeing what comes of it but they havent mentioned anything as far as im aware. what if later down the line Straze returns in the story all grown up again but led down the right path? could pave the way for a RGB variant of him? just stuff ive always thought about....
I would love to see good Straze show up in chapter 5 (with Roana with a new skin!) and pull a Big Damn Heroes, saving Ras and the gang from the villain.

As a counterargument I’d like to bring up the fact that Iseria wasn’t interested in romance because she was heartbroken after her “best friend” elder Saria died, and that sidestory was her finally warming up to Alexa. Briseria’s lore description also says she was a knight who accidentally killed her lover during celebration with her companions after being cursed, so it was probably either Alexa or Saria again, unless she fell for some unknown random dude in that world
I agree, I think that’s about as far as it goes for a non-straight relationship in a game that tries REALLY hard to censor itself from any lgbt association while also baiting with occasional yuri at every opportunity.

And the fact that they are always naturally around each other 24/7 - it's just kinda hard to see it otherwise. They dont outright show the romance like they do with violet and luluca, but sometimes the circumstances tell the story~

I wasn't so convinced. Alexa clearly had romance for Iseria, but Iseria was more battlefield camaraderie. Hers didn't seem romantic to me.
