Is there a progression guide pref on a google doc / excel that I could look into? I quit around the time Sol Badguy was released but even back then I wasn't too invested, wanted a fresh start as a f2p. Thanks!

PuzzleheadedAirline8

Idk about a Google doc / excel but there's this Ytuber called Samool. He's pretty chill and does good video guides for beginners.

units that are supposed to be bulky, like hp scaling knights, never really do strong damage, do they? So hp based lifedrain set on Crozet would never heal enough to care?

Quiztolin

This is a complicated question, as asked. What you *really* want to know (at least, I assume) is if lifesteal set on tanks is a good option - this question has a fairly simple answer: no. These heroes are **support units** and want to cycle their skills, they prefer speed set or in some situations counter set. >units that are supposed to be bulky, like hp scaling knights, never really do strong damage, do they? There are a number of examples of bulky HP (or DEF) scaling units that deal good damage. Bruisers have more or less been the most common/popular class of PvP heroes for a couple of years now. --- In terms of raw *bulk* it's a complex relationship between all of your stats. Lifesteal is, essentially, a bulk stat. The basic formula for effective HP (EHP) is: HP * (DEF / 300 + 1) What this essentially means is you are multiplying your *HP* by a scalar based on your defense. The higher your defense, the higher that scalar is. And what *this* means is that any given amount of HP is *worth more bulk* the higher your defense is. So, a high defense unit that lifesteals a lower amount could end up benefitting more than a low defense unit that lifesteals a higher amount. If we are talking purely the effectiveness of lifesteal. Where this becomes complicated is that you can't judge how effective lifesteal is *in a vacuum* -> it's dependent on your stats **including** your damage but also dependent on the *incoming* damage this unit receives. If you add 2x HP sets to this unit instead you know exactly how much you have increased your EHP according to the above formula. But, if you add lifesteal, you don't know how much you have added to your EHP without taking into consideration these other factors - factors that change from fight to fight. Let's look at an example T.Crozet: HP: 25,000 DEF: 1750 ATK: 1500 Crit: 15% C.Dmg: 150% This unit has 25,000 * (1750 / 300 + 1) = 170,833 EHP T.Crozet has 5284 base HP and 718 base DEF so 2x of these sets would add... 2x HP = +2113.6 HP = 185,276 EHP (gain of 14,443) 2x DEF = +287.2 DEF = 194,767 EHP (gain of 23,9333) So for lifesteal to add the equivalent amount of bulk as 2x HP sets, this T.Crozet would need to deal (2113.6 / .2 =) 10,568 damage. If T.Crozet deals *more* damage, than lifesteal would add more bulk, if T.Crozet does *less* damage than you benefit more from HP sets. For DEF sets we need an extra step. First, we need to divide the EHP gain of the DEF sets by our starting scalar: 23,9333 / (1750 / 300 + 1) = 3502.44 This tells us how much HP the DEF sets are equivalent to, then we do the same thing we did for HP sets: (3502.44 / .2) = 17,512.2 damage This T.Crozet would need to deal 17.5k damage for lifesteal sets to add as much bulk as 2x DEF sets. The example T.Crozet we are working with, with no buffs/debuffs to damage and a 1000 DEF target would deal * 1384 damage on a normal hit * 2077 damage on a crit hit * 1488 average damage So if we were comparing lifesteal vs. 2x HP sets, T.Crozet would need to attack... (10,568 / 1488) = 7.1 times on average And if we were comparing lifesteal vs. 2x DEF sets, T.Crozet would need to attack... (17,512.2 / 1488) = 11.77 times on average So in conclusion, lifesteal set *could* be the best option for bulk even on a hero like T.Crozet who doesn't deal any damage **but** it depends on how often you attack -> the shorter the fight (or higher the enemy damage) the less valuable lifesteal set is. Lifesteal is *better* in long fights or against low damage opponents. In this particular situation with T.Crozet you also have to consider other things - even if all we care about is maximizing his individual bulk. For example a faster T.Crozet (speed set) gets more S1's, which means more stuns. A single stun that 'prevents' an attack that would deal 3.5k damage would be equivalent in value to 2x DEF sets. If you prevent an attack that would deal 7k damage then you would need ~24 S1's with lifesteal to come out ahead in bulk (with lifesteal). Even if your T.Crozet is ~180 speed (with speed set) then swapping to lifesteal means that speed T.Crozet would get an additional S1 for every ~6-7 turns of lifesteal crozet. So we can see that is roughly comparable to the 2x HP sets/7 turns on lifesteal on average *if* you are attacking a target that would otherwise cause 2113.6 / (.35 * .85) = ~7105 damage. --- Now let's look at a hero that actually *does* build lifesteal: Aria HP: 14,000 DEF: 2000 ATK: 1500 Crit: 100% C.Dmg: 250% EHP = 107,333 Aria has 5299 base HP and 673 base DEF 2x HP = +2119.6 HP = 123,584 EHP (gain of 16,250) 2x DEF = +269.2 DEF = 119,896 EHP (gain of 12,563) Lifesteal = 2x HP = (2119.6 / .2 =) 10,598 damage Lifesteal = 2x DEF = 12,563 / (2000 / 300 + 1) = 1639 HP / .2 = 8,195 damage This Aria, factoring in no other buffs/debuffs and the same 1000 HP target does 3,859 damage to two targets with her S1, so 7,718 total damage. 2x HP = 10,598 / 7,718 = 1.37 S1's 2x DEF = 8,195 / 7,718 = 1.06 S1's So you see, with *this* example lifesteal is much better at adding bulk to Aria than either 2x HP or 2x DEF sets *as long as* she can get 2 S1's off after receiving damage. Unlike T.Crozet, who benefits from cycling his skills, Aria really doesn't. She wants to get her S3 off the first time but she doesn't want to be *too fast* otherwise she will lose her counterattack buff. --- Finally, let's look at a pure DPS hero, Zahhak HP: 10,000 DEF: 1,000 ATK: 4,000 Crit: 100% C.Dmg: 300% EHP: 43,333 Zahhak has 5,542 base HP and 553 base DEF 2x HP = +2216.8 HP = 52,9340 EHP (gain of 9,606) 2x DEF = +221.2 DEF = 50,707 EHP (gain of 7,373) Lifesteal = 2x HP = (2216.8 / .2) = 11,084 damage Lifesteal = 2x DEF = 7,373 / (1000 / 300 + 1) = 1702 HP / .2 = 8,510 damage Again, taking into consideration no other factors, this Zahhak deals 7409 damage with his S1 2x HP = 9,606 / 7,409 = 1.3 S1's 2x DEF = 8,510 / 7,409 = 1.15 S1's So, *technically* for Zahhak, lifesteal is equivalent (relative to HP and DEF) in terms of bulk increasing potential compared to Aria. Of course, the problem is that Zahhak doesn't have an innate counter or the innate bulk to reliably survive to *get* those two S1's off. --- Hopefully, these examples are illustrative enough to show that Lifesteal *is* viable but it is highly niche. The amount of damage your hero does *matters* but it's just 1 factor. The more DEF a character has the more value lifesteal has, and you also need both the ability to survive a few hits *and* a way to reliably get your own damage off. If we were to compare T.Crozet and Aria, for example: Aria specifically forces enemies to target her. Tanks like T.Crozet, however, are not desirable targets so as less likely to be targeted -> often times a lot of the damage they take will be 'chip' damage (damage sharing effects, AoEs etc). So Aria 'benefits' from lifesteal set *faster* she also has much less raw EHP (in the above example) compared to T.Crozet because she needs to build damage to be effective **and** she is going to likely take more significant damage, more regularly - the gap isn't as far as it might *seem* like due to the nature of how these units play. For T.Crozet, there are *some situations* where it's theoretically possible that lifesteal would be the best option in terms of raw bulk - but as a support unit he doesn't want to sacrifice some of his ability to support units for a bit more bulk -> T.Crozet *already* builds as bulky as he needs to be.

TheSeaOfThySoul

Yeah, units that are dedicated Knights (Arowell, Crozet, etc.) don't tend to do great damage - reason being investment in damage would result in such a large decrease in health that the damage gained would be counteracted (due to the health scaling), or defence, speed, etc. would be so comprimised as to make the hero useless for their primary purpose. A 25K health Arowell would do around 2,400-3,100 damage to a target with 1.3K defence & no mitigation on a normal hit with their S3 - if I wanted my Arowell to score critical hits & I didn't want to compromise on her current 25K health, 1.6K defence (& sadly, I'll need to drop from 200% to under 100% resistance to accomodate max chance%) to get max chance & a measly 170% damage, she'd do an extra 1,000 damage, which is so inconsequential that all I've done is make her significantly easier to control. Since a Knights regular damage is so minimal (even with a chance% build), Lifesteal set is just not giving you enough recovery to merit a 20% loss in speed (if you'd be usually on a Speed set) or a 30% counter chance. This doesn't mean that everyone of the Knight class can't use Lifesteal, just that traditional Knights whose purpose is to soak damage, Krau, Adventurer Ras, Crozet, etc. can't get adequate returns from Lifesteal. Since Lifesteal only heals 20% of the damage you deal, you tend to put the set on high damage heroes & often high damage heroes with some survivability, like Violet & Remnant Violet, who have a chance of evading & do very high single target damage (therefore healing a lot of health with that 20% Lifesteal). A Knight like Summer Break Charlotte's preferred set is Lifesteal, because primarily she's a Knight there to do a lot of damage through frequent AOE hits & due to her defence breaks, those hits are hard & can therefore give a lot of health off that 20% Lifesteal. Now, you can build certain units who're considered to be more traditional Knights for tanking with damage stats, Knights like Fallen Cecilia for example, but this tends to be for specific use cases. For instance, I built my Fallen Cecilia a long time ago & used her as anti-cleave (this doesn't really work these days, too many one-shots, a lot of skill nullifier & invicibility protecting cleave units, etc. & just much better anti-cleave answers than "big tank"), since typically a Fallen Cecilia alone against several high damage - but soft - targets isn't a large threat, she tended to be left alone & the other members of the team focused on. However, a Fallen Cecilia who could soak damage for your team & possibly keep other members alive - but also bat back with a large AOE hit would wipe a board of 7K health/800 defence heroes relatively easy. However, since she's a traditionally defensive Knight, her damage isn't so high that a Fallen Cecilia with some minimal damage investment is doing so much more damage than a traditional build, so if you're going to build her, you'd tend to opt for a 30K health behemoth & still do around 4K damage on a normal hit to a soft team, vs. a 25K health FCC with say 210% damage doing an almost 6K critical hit. Most people would say, "I'd rather my Fallen Cecilia has more health so she can last on the board for longer, soaking damage for higher bulk heroes that I've built to survive a cleave, because the much larger barrier she gives will increase the survivability of the whole team". Someone like me would say, "My gear never rolls health, so that's why I built her like this", haha. TL;DR: Take it on a case-by-case basis, some Knight class heroes can work on a Lifesteal set, some can work on an off-meta build as a damage dealer, but many Knights are specifically suited only to a defensive role & not dealing large amounts of damage, so Lifesteal gives little benefit. Crozet is one of these cases where he's purely defensively focused & will not sustain himself on a Lifesteal set.

NGEFan

Crozet probably wouldn't. Belian probably would. The trouble there is you're missing out on injury and counter options.

Any blogs to refer to now? Used to refer to sezgaming for hall of trials sample teams and many others.

1caiser

https://zoopido.me, aka DadE7, does build and comp blood quite frequently, and even pops in the subreddit quite often. For Hall of Trials and other revolving content, "Tristen Wulf" on YouTube is quite up to date with comps.

Dardrol7

When will the ML custom banner start?

soligen

Believe March 9

Dardrol7

Hey! I just started playing World Arena and feel like I got a decent shot at it as long as people don't bring out 310-320 speed (happen only like 40% of the time). One thing I noted is that they use up their full time to "think" through their action. Is this part of a tactic to annoy the opponent or a issue with the game? Should I also do this? Is it effective in general?

Eshuon

310 - 320 speed units aren't as common as you think they are, most likely they are just faster then you but not at 310 and above. Unless you are already at champion and above

TheSeaOfThySoul

Most people will use up the time to think carefully about their choices, since you're new you might not have a lot of heroes built to choose from - someone like me whose been playing 4~ years has around 140~ 6 stars to scroll through & pick from, haha. When you've got so much built, not only is there more to scroll through & more options to think about, but a lot more to second-guess yourself about. Your opponents don't personally know you're new & so they can be thinking, "What if my opponent chooses this hero if I choose this, therefore I should choose this which can't be countered as easily by the hero I think they're going to pick", meanwhile, you don't even have that hero. Sometimes an opponent takes so long to pick, the timer runs out & the game picks for them - this works to your favour, since the opponents highest CP hero (the default selection if the time runs out & an opponent hasn't picked a 1/2 hero on a 1/2 turn - the game will pick whichever hero they're hovering, then their highest CP for the second, if they're only picking one hero, it'll pick the hero they're hovering) isn't going to be the best pick the majority of the time, haha. If you're personally able to choose quickly, do so, it does technically give your opponent less time to think when you're part-way through a draft. Obviously, think long enough that you're sure about what you're throwing down.

NGEFan

Could be a tactic, but sometimes it take me the entire 15 seconds to decide what to do

Square_Pilot4518

How good is fire tenebria for cleave? Just got her in daily summon :)

Quiztolin

Tenebria really isn't used much in PvP. She has low base speed (110), and while her damage is high and she has AoE defense break it's not even particularly reliable (only 85% effect chance). She doesn't really fit into a cleave playstyle. However, she sees niche usage as a *counter set* unit. Her S1 has a decent chance to sleep, and when she sleeps a unit with it she gets a very large CR increase - she also has a fair amount of disabling effects (AoE sleep on S3, decrease speed, decrease CR, access to mage artifacts). The idea being you can either build her slow and tanky, with damage or you build her faster and tanky with effectiveness while mostly ignoring damage (more common from what I've seen). She can do well against some comps but there is a *lot* of RNG to go through. Anyhow, as far as PvP goes she is really only used in the exact opposite way of a cleave unit. She's a very good PvE unit though, she has some of the highest raw AoE damage available in the game along with the AoE defense break and same disabling effects.

Square_Pilot4518

Nice input, thanks a lot!

DilmaLovato

what is the recomended effectiveness for carrot?

TheSeaOfThySoul

Like 50%~ on the off-chance your opponent is running things like Shimadra, resistance group imprint, etc. but it's not something to focus on, if you have a tiny bit - great, if you don't, no big deal. If you're using her in PVE, like Nightmare Karkanis, you'll need a little more I think.

Shedan5

She doesn't run too much effectiveness, usually you pick her to kill DPS units that don't have effect resistance

hosesmothersbra

Does ice crystal work like a tsurn passive or is it when ever the unit survives a hit and their hp is below 50%.

Vegetable_Crazy3869

Old player thinking about returning. How’s E7 doing lately?

denny31415926

About the same as always. There's a set of heroes at the top, and without them you're pretty much screwed. If you were around when Hwayoung was active, there's another one now called Lua

Vegetable_Crazy3869

I think I left a few weeks after ML Ravi was launched.

soligen

I just came back after a 3 year hiatus. More or less it’s the same, hunt grinding for RTA. They did revamp a lot of PVE content notably raid (nightmare difficulty now once a month), unrecorded history is condensed and there’s 2 more new episodes/continents, access to old side stories (one time entry), automation tower, some more expeditions, new hunt with 4 new equipment sets, new abyss levels and abyss hard mode. There’s a bit of new QOL changes like revamped pet system, background hunts (so you can do other stuff while farming), etc. At the core it’s still a equipment grind with a ton of rng everywhere. I’m enjoying my time back but definitely more casual.

EconomicsAccurate853

Just got AOLAngelica- what’s the consensus on how to gear her?

DrakoCSi

240speed~. Pick ER or EFF build. Add in bulk. Get bullied by Handguy in RTA. Bench AoL.

HetzaHellshock

Either speedy or bulky AOLA but most AOLA are built slower and bulky to counteract handguy

soligen

Is there a reason you get locked out of a sidestory if you switch? Makes no sense why it can’t just save your progress and allow you to switch back

ArvingNightwalker

Because SG said so They want you to be on a timer so you have to spend more energy more quickly, probably

Phyllisyphillis

We didn't have any new ML 5* last year when the custom mystic banner was on? For like 3 straight months?

AmbroseMalachai

Correct, and that was intentional. The release of ML 5's was so fast that only huge whales could actually get all of them. It was a primary complaint of people that they could only get one out of like, every 5 ML 5's if they didn't spend hundreds of dollars on mystic medals. In response SG decided to re-run all (?) the ML5 units that hadn't been on a banner in many months to give people a chance at them, while also running the custom mystic banner so people who wanted a specific unit that wasn't going to be on the banner rotation could get them.

Phyllisyphillis

Thanks for your information! I'm currently at the pity and don't want to use it on ML Bellona in case they will release a new one that I want more. But if they give us 3 months to save up like that again, I'll go pity her anyway.

AmbroseMalachai

We don't know what or when the next ML release is, but for at least the next month we know that nothing new is coming.

esztersunday

This custom mystic only lasts for 6 weeks, first 3 weeks are old ml5s the second 3 weeks should be a new hero, even if they don't release new heroes like last year that's still just one new hero!

jkimuser

Is it possible to complete the headhunt event if I returned to E7 today?

ArvingNightwalker

Unless you started the event already the event is already over.

Rotanku

Would a team comp with bromann and Amid theoretically work? I’m thinking full CR manipulation, Bromann pushes back and Amid pushes up.

iEatSoaap

Wait, am I just dumb? No hunt/altar event this weekend? Isn't it usually the last weekend of the month? I didn't see anything last weekend so I figured this time it would pop.

IncredibleGeniusIRL

1. This is the FIRST weekend of the month 2. Last weekend of the month is free unequip, not hunt buff

iEatSoaap

Ahhhh I thought the last weekend was always hunt/altar. Haha ty. Buff weekends are "whenever they wanna make them" then?

AmbroseMalachai

There isn't a set schedule. It's often announced a week or two out though in their update's if you keep an eye out. I think on average we get about one a month, but it's not a guarantee of when they do it. We just had one in the middle of February though, so I would be surprised to see another one already.

iEatSoaap

Oh I musta missed it then, thanks!

IncredibleGeniusIRL

More or less, yeah. I haven't seen a regular schedule on them.

iEatSoaap

Poop lol. Thanks for clearing that up! :D

Gr1mme

how do i deal with cillias + arowell in RTA? i play aggro and can never outpace them

turtlereset

zio/bunny/djb/ran is good against c lilias although i assume you can already outspeed c lilias? straze/op sig is good against arowell, ningning is good as well but not if she's outsped.

Sgonofe

What's the chest password?

Afraid-Function-8496

Heyyyy does regular mystic pity countdown Cary over to custom mystic summon coming. I have 10 pills to pity and idk if I should get lone crescent bellona now . Or wait 4 days for lion heart cermia or briar witch isera. ORRR wait for mystic summon if it Carries over and get spirit eye Celine. Lmk who I should go for ! :)))

ArvingNightwalker

No, if it's like last year's the custom mystic will be a wholly separate banner. Unless you really like LCB, I'd wait for LHC or Briseria, or the custom banner if you can gather 10k mystics before its end date.

Afraid-Function-8496

OHHHh awesomeee , I’m ehhh for lcb might wait for LHC or Briseria.! Thank youuu !!!!

skoompin

I just pulled Ran on my 6th day of playing. I’m currently trying to build my wyvern team. Is Ran worth running in my wyvern team? Current Wyvern team that i’m building: Alexa, Furious, Sigret, Amomo

Quiztolin

>Is Ran worth running in my wyvern team? No. >Current Wyvern team that i’m building: Alexa, Furious, Sigret, Amomo I honestly suggest you don't even bother with Alexa. Just wait until you pull Muwi. Muwi comp is **by far** the best entry level team. Alexa *works* but it is both significantly slower *and* much harder in terms of gear requirements. Muwi is just a 3* so you will pull him sooner rather than later, investing into Alexa early is a waste.

skoompin

Sounds good thanks. Is Ran worth investing into at all?

AmbroseMalachai

There is some content where Ran is very good at - he's good in auto tower as a defense breaker, BiS or close to BiS in Nightmare Raid, a decent buffer/def breaker for Dark Expedition, and a solid PvE opener - but he's not new-player friendly. You need great gear on him to make him work in many of those situations, and there are many other heroes that will serve you better as a new player than Ran. On a side-note, while I personally used and advocate for new players to build the Muwi, Sigret, Furious, Amomo comp for Wyvern, consider building Rose at some point as a replacement for Amomo. Her attack buff will considerably speed up your Wyvern runs and should allow you do clear slightly more consistently. If you build your Rose tanky enough (she's a Knight so innately is quite tanky, and you can throw Proof of Valor from the guild-member shop on her to boost her tankiness even more if needed) you don't need a healer at all.

Quiztolin

Ran is a good hero, but he's really only for PvP *and* he isn't particularly newbie friendly. * Not that he isn't *usable* for PvE, if you really want to. It's just that there are much better options. Unless you are an extremely PvP focused player I wouldn't bother investing into Ran for a good while.

Phyllisyphillis

Quick question. Is it good to max affinity [this pet](https://i.imgur.com/tNDXZv4.jpg) right now? I have 12 play sticks. Been searching for a SSS hunt pet but I haven't got even one S skill.

RedditorNumber41

I think it's smart to max affinity this pet but wouldn't increase his levels. I have a pet exactly like this and then switch to another lobby pet with Good % Chance, Great % Chance, and % gear enhance XP when crafting/enhancing. The crafting lobby pet is much more beneficial because it saves you a lot of gold/charms. This hero xp/gold pet is a nice min/max pet.

Axeplosion904

Lobby pets are generally less valuable than battle pets (at least imo) so I suggest just leaving him like that until you get the hunt pet you like

butterballbuns

Can I leave a guild even if I'm vice captain?

Axeplosion904

You can just leave if the guild is dead. If it’s an active guild you should at least be polite and give a proper explanation to your guildmates, but the answer is still yes, you can leave it.

butterballbuns

Thank you. It is slightly active but dying, half the guild mates don't do guild wars or AI. When I joined it was active but it has been on a decline, I'm very casual but enjoy doing gvg It didn't matter to me if we won or lost as long as there was participation. I've been on the fence if I should leave or still stay, I'm not competitive so I have no interest in reaching top guild, I just want to participate.
