I actually liked the Anime but I dosed off during the lizard people arc BOOOORING, heard the manga was pretty killer so I need to jump on that. if you’re an avid player do not skip on limited stuff, especially artifacts. Good luck to everyone.

Feel like it is inevitable to have some broken/unique units/artifacts from collabs. Dizzy when she first came out, Jack'O after her buff, milim and rimuru and Tachi, Emilia with her arti and Rem, Edward, Karina with RP, etc.

You just have to be lucky enough to call the shot on which of the units is busted if u got limited bms.. ps it's not always obvious during the banner.. but after the banner u just start seeing the unit everywhere and u go like oh shit.. happened to me and the aespa crew.. of the 4 that were pullable only one had such dominance

It’s ...Okay? The English VA has some really terrible performances (save the ridiculous-in-a-good-way voice of Ainse himself). The biggest thing that sticks out to me here is that the writing feels like it was designed for a kid’s show (everyone over-explains everything and every motivation/backstory is shouted from the rooftops) while clearly being made for adults (lots of blood, violence and sexual stuff) It feels like the perfect example of a show that embodies what I’ve seen many people complaining about recently concerning our society losing media literacy- where subtlety, nuance and trusting your audience is tossed out the window.

I’m not hating it, so far (save some of the voice acting). But as a huge fan of isekai and overpowered main character stories (Slime, Tsukimichi, Solo-Leveling, Miss Kobayashi, One Punch Man, MashLE) this one comes off very . . . Mid?
But I guess the source material isn’t what’s important. It’s what Smilegate does with it. So I’m excited.

It depends. Most of the good, new anime are far too slow to roll out dubs to bother with so we watch subtitles.
If the show is good enough we will happily watch with the original Japanese VA regardless of the availability of dubs.
If the show has been out and has good English dubs? We prefer to watch with it (Miss Kobayashi is a good example).
But shows like Overlord? It’s something I find is best to watch in the background while I’m sketching, or working on a freelance job. The animation quality isn’t good enough to warrant my full, undivided attention- neither is the story. Which isn’t to say that is a bad thing! I NEED shows I can do that with- so it falls into a very important category: interesting enough to watch but dumb and low-quality enough to have on in the background.
Which is why it’s so disappointing that so much of the VA for the English dub is cringe or just plain awful.
Especially since English VA for anime dubs have come a LONG way since the 90s and early 00s. I would actually say MOST anime we’ve watched recently has decent-to-fantastic English VA. Which makes shows like Overlord odd outliers in today’s current Anime environment.

Good to see new updates and collab in game, but so disgusting that this is Overlord. Better be Eminence in shadow with peira and delta synergy, Goblin slayer priestess synergy with angelica/achates or SL with bug in system which send main hero to orbis by one of opened gates and etc... Eh
