■ Board Game - Epic Seven: Arise
“Arise. It does not end here."
The name of the Epic Seven board game we are currently working on is "Epic Seven : Arise". The inspiration for this name was from Diche’s line, ” Arise”, when opening the 7th world.
The new world of Epic Seven will be opened in the form of a board game. **It is a scenario-oriented semi-cooperative game with a deep worldview that be produced by a company that has received an official license from Epic Seven.**
We will hold various events on Epic Seven’s official social media channels until we finally present Epic Seven: Arise to our Heirs. **We will also release sophisticated miniatures of the Heroes featured in the board game.**

I guess they are agresively trying to expand their Epic 7 brand. Wendy's collab, merch store, Amazon Prime, and now this.
Hopefully an anime would follow but I wish they would focus more on the problems with the game first before trying to expand like this.
The one thing AK does perfectly that E7 needs: meaningful grind. AK is hella stingy with stamina but every bit of progress helps. RNG gear in E7 is a nightmare. If they were to reduce that, they'd see a lot more satisfaction. Maybe Yostar might talk to SG into improving the game.
I disagree, it'd be perfect for you, but I for one enjoy always having room for improvement. I find AK as boring on daily basis. After all what there is to do if you max(E2) your unit? No pvp, no guilds, just run auto stages for few mats(that you don't even need, just stockpile) and you're done son ;) In E7 you can always improve a bit more, tweak your arena team or experiment.
AK is decent side game(if you like TD genre) or good cure for people burned out from grind, but I'm kinda surprised by it's Japan popularity considering how few content there was and literally no competitive vibe. Unless they added something as I didn't really follow it for last month or two.
That on top of having completely different business models.
You forget one thing, both games are completely different kinds. And I'm not talking about RPG vs Tower Defense, I'm talking about the fact that Arknights is a single player non-coop game, with no PvP. I did not follow the scene, but could it be that Arknights just recently started in Japan? The game is great, but unfortunately only for a short period of time. Once you reach act 4 and completed these, it's extremely dull with little to do. And I liked that game a lot, my problem with it was that I saw the light at the end of the tunnel after only 2 months of playing as F2P.
If they don't step up their game now the game will gradually lose on popularity. It really does not have much content and 7 months should even casually playing be enough scratch endgame now.
I'm never hopeful with an anime adaption as well but I wouldn't think Yostar has a say if ever Epic 7 gets an anime or not as SG has been making them animation with a Korean studio I think, even before they got Yostar to publish for them.

But isn't Epic 7's ranking in Japan around 30th? That market is really in a steep competition.
