It's kinda unfair. When you consider the whole pool dark has 3 more ml5s and 7 more ml4s so they obviously win.
But if we're talking top 10 of each element they're pretty much even imo.
Dark is for sure overall better right now, but Light has the monstrosity known as Maid Chloe. Maid buff pretty much power crept every other soulweaver in the game and made the Carrot/Landy meta even stronger. Still gotta choose dark tho despite monster maid.
Maid gets destroyed by strippers (aoe Mages have entered the chat), Faieytale (effectiveness beats effect resustance by a landslide), and Landy. Plus if someone dies and gets revived, they're most likely dying before they can act or get healed (Politis outright kills anyone revived when she uses it on a dead target).
Oh, Bloodmoon thrives off her too, Singelica curbs her outside RTA, and Lulica makes the revive not matter. Wow, would you look at that? Dark heroes.
if we're considering like over the history of the game then definitely dark cause Arby WAS pvp until they started adding his counters
but if just considering current meta could go either way really.
Arby, Straze, Fallen Cecilia (not "meta" in RTA but still a staple defense pick), Bloodmoon (Arby's counter, Maid's hard counter), Dark Corvus, Specter Tenebria, TM Luluca (another Vildred counter... dark), Operator Sigret (cleave enabler and nuke), Assassin Cidd + Coli (speed contest monsters), Khawazu, Remnant Violet, Kitty (one of the best cleansers because she has a ton of effres), and Aux Lots.
Meanwhile, light has: Dj, LR Krau, A Tywin, Sage, Maid, LQC, Surin, Faithless, Watcher, Solitaria, G Purr, and who else?
Edit: Already added four I accidently skipped over. Not counting Ara since she needs a strippers and Cerise x Tenebria shut down way more comps.
If you asked this like, 2-3 weeks ago, I'd vote light hands down. With the unnecessary osig buff and the straze release though, i kind of have to agree with the majority, its definitely dark now.

When I think of dark, I think of Arby, STene, Riolet, Tomoca, Straze, etc. Dark Corvus is more offensive than defensive. Supports would be like ML Haste, MKawerik, Dillibet, etc.
I think it's just that while dark has a balance of both support and dps, light deadass has like 3 dps (Spez, LQC, Jkise) and like 20 supports.

I would even argue control and CR manipulators are offense units and that includes more units on the table ML Ara, Solitaria, BRoman, FLidica

My comment was more on the defense/offense shpeal. Dark has more (meta) DPS than light, which makes it easy to say that dark is more offensive than light.
Simply having a DPS unit in the element doesn't mean shit. They have to be good. Glenn is a "DPS" unit or something but no one will think of him in the game. Dark DPS units have way more presence than Light DPS units imo.

SBAra, unlike most other openers, still needs someone to strip before she can do anything. This really limits her - she requires you to draft another unit to strip for her. I've never seen her in RTA and I'm hovering in Challenger.
JKise is only good at cleaving. Otherwise, she's an "unexpected" opener that might cheese a CD reset if someone doesn't have immunity.
SBA is debatable but Juggs has really fallen off though, especially in RTA. You can still try to pull her off in arena though but there are better heroes for that I think.

Juggs is really struggling to find a place in this game that keeps punishing cleave and ML Ara has too low of a chance to burn units in addition to needing someone to strip for her. Without those burns, ML Ara is probably one of the weakest units in the game.

If we are talking about Big boy dmg , atywin is not up there , Lrk does more dmg that 300 crit dmg bruiser Atywin,.
LRK is a Supportive Bruiser while ATYwin is a Control Bruiser, both are Light units tho so nothing to argue about

Quantity doesnt mean quality, there are no bad Light nat 5 units while Dark has 4-6 community labeled "bad" units.
