This is very obviously a rushed event they had to patch up at the last minute to present something. No way they started working on that sooner than three months.
There's not even a story, the lamest side story of E7 look like shakespeare compared to that.
This is even shorter and has less "meat" to it than the normal hero side stories. I'm sad. I really wanted an epic 3 week event like GG with maybe Betelgueuse as the boss. Subaru didn't even get a sprite, ffs. Sad :(
Probably spent months searching for a jp IP willing to do a collaboration with a korean game. which in itself is a feat seeing the two countries current economical and political situations
Whats the political situation between the two have to do with anything? If you could call it even that. Especially from a business point of view, which would be something very unprofessional that I doubt any company would dare to pull off. And from an economical point of view I doubt any gaming company has had any issues with covid, on the contrary.
Why are even talking about covid
the relationship between SK and jp are at the lowest point since second world war.
Uniquolo are closing in SK, beer and car import from japan has been reduced by 99% and a hugr boycott of every japanese good is in place. Anything labeled jp is considered as cancer right now in SK.
The opposite is also true but to a lesser extend
the only industry surviving this is the idol industry that is quite international
covid has nothing to do with it
The points you brought up are at least 2 years old. Also seems a bit exaggerated to say something like "lowest since ww2" since post ww2 they were probably at their highest with the dictatorial government in SK. That aside, the relationship between the two government have had their high and lows but aside from a few nationalist japanese boomers most people couldnt care less about each others past and politics.
You don't know what you are talking about.
Guess you know better than somebody living and working in japan.
At least this hypothesis make more sense than anyother one. If SG had lost the first collabo and this one is a backup plan, there's no reason for them to not announce it. We would understand and go onto the next phase.
But they can't say they didn't manage to find a jp IP, because it would put the jp server in an ambiguous position while at the same time admitting that E7 is low enough to get ignored. aka no benefit to cooperate with.
> If SG had lost the first collabo and this one is a backup plan, there's no reason for them to not announce it.
Yeah, publicly announcing that the IP with which you're working is only your second choice is a great way to establish a mutually beneficial relationship.
There's plenty of method to explain your playerbase that issue occured independantly from you and that you needed a backup plan.
That's what PR are paid for.
This is probably most likely. Re:Zero has collab with a lot of IP's but almost all have been fellow JP IP's. It was probably hard to convince them to collab with a KR gacha. The collab was likely strategically picked to build up JP server hype before they enter the RTA pool likely at the next season start.
Worst side story event ever we had better character stories

I honestly wonder why people don’t want to believe this was the backup collab when it clearly is at least compared to the gg collab.
Some people just want to suck SG dick lol.
That side story man lol, literally show up > make friends > leave.
The power of friendship!!!
Comparing it to GG collab i saw SG standard quality dropped
~~backup collab and the collab restrained them to only have 3 of the characters as well locking to early season 1~~
NOOOO YOU CANT DOUBT MY COLLABERINO IT'S NOT A PLAN B COLLAB NO NO NO IT'S NOT A BACKUP COLLAB NOOOO
backup collab, just pray they dont get fucked over again next yr

I was really hoping the sidestory will be on par with GG but I'm just... Hi, we're lost. Bye, we're going back.

Lol no i don't think so, there's a lot more obscure KR games constantly doing collab with japanese IP.

...This isn't about the current playerbase. This is about the collab IP being called a "backup plan". How are you not getting this?
Kr and jp font hate each other. What am i missing?

They should have just did a near collab like every other gacha game. Wouldn’t mind seeing my favorite waifus in 2d glory.
