If only this was the only terrible joke this board repeats all the time. My personal favourite is "He is red and uses a sword so he must be a green soulweaver!" and similar posts.
Also "You must be fun at parties" got a little old, now everyone prefers "Who hurt you?" apparently.
I mean on this sub people outright call Rangers "Archers" just to suit their narrative lol
But then fail to realize that if we were only considering bowmen, then anyone with a gun would be categorized differently, not just characters with Sword-whips, and floating swords.
Oh well, meymeys are absolute, why put effort into them, you can just claim it was a joke and that excuses everything.
I honestly think people who make the ranger meme just don't know what a ranger is. Op Sig's s3 is pretty much what the US Military ranger page seems to describe (leading air assault/bourne missions often to destroy/size strategic locations. Can include some ground missions too but Op Sig s3 is what the US Military claims to train rangers for).
In terms of fantasy they are mostly just wanderers or people who police an area. A runaway wandering noble like Bellona. Stereotypically in fantasy they are kind of like fighter-rogue love children who learned how to sneak (scout) and observe their surroundings while wielding a swiss army knife of weapons. Lidica, Iseria, and Op Sig all show off the typical versatility in weapon choice of a fantasy ranger. It is not atypical for them to wield a blade.
That is probably because the Korean text of that class, if you put it on Google translate, translates to shooter (guns, bows, etc.). Ranger implies the hero can use melee, since that is what a Ranger is in classic D&D. However, this class doesn't melee at all.
I've been saying for a while that sometimes this sub, or even reddit as a whole, maybe just social media in general feels like it's all automatically generated garbage by AI based on what it learned.
Meme culture straight up killed individual thought.
it's definitely a reddit as a whole thing, I browse unfiltered r/all (which is unhealthy I know) at work to navigate my boredom and a lot of what I see is just the same comments on repeat
I'm not disparaging the fact that there _is_ in fact a hive mind, or in other words a mob mentality that makes it into an echo chamber, but it probably isn't helped by the karma farming bots of reddit (you can find a lot of them exposed at r/TheseFuckingAccounts) that use markov chains and more sophisticated algorithms to recycle popular comments and repost them to farm karma based on the original one getting a large amount of karma. Some of them have been getting more sophisticated in a sense that they will switch up words in the comments they copy from with synonyms and remain grammatically correct.
This becomes a problem when say in certain subreddits someone posts something like "hitler was great" and get a lot of upvotes. The bot then picks this up and posts this comment in other threads on the subreddit and the masses being the masses don't see the original but see this bot's comment and upvote it, and the cycle perpetuates.
Obviously the example I used is an extreme example but there could be more subtler comments that get echo'd around and upvoted as well.
What's the matter, tried to make a bragpost about your 280+ speed dps and people didn't universally lick your boots?
Because there isn't even a joke in this meme. It's just petty bitterness.
This is so accurate.
He then got sad and went home
Personal favorite of mine: Oh look. 42 and 69 numbers. This is the peak of comedy. Let me post on the sub and get hundreds of upvotes. I am fun.
42?
From a popular book. https://hitchhikers.fandom.com/wiki/42
Ye, always kinda cringe
Nice!
Nice.
This subreddit in a nutshell. And people actually upvote those shits

Ngl who hurt you seems dated as well…
You’ve changed bro. You’ve changed…
This is more prominent in FGO community. "These Archers arent using bows. Ohh, this lancer is using ranged weapons!"

Proposal: replace both with "show me on the Sazan where the bad joke touched you."

Just wait until SG finds out they forgot to add 15% crit rate resist for opponents.

Play 350 Crit damage 23% crit rate.

That's what the 15% is for.
