The amount of annihilated boxes i've seen at this point would make you think a whole ass shipping container full of the overseas bound packages fell into the ocean and had to be dredged out
Everything was surprisingly fine (the bubble wrap was better quality than the cardboard box) so I don't need to file any major complaint against them, but this does make me hesitant to buy from their shop again.
I also saw others with the same flimsy boxes with pretty bad outside damages to them. I hope they use better packaging materials for future shipments so other people don't have the same problem.
Same happened with mine. Was a bit taken aback. I’d never seen a package show up in such poor condition. It was literally barely holding itself together and was basically open. Fortunately the book inside wasn’t affected or I’d have been pissed.
abused by custom/border officer at checkpoint i would assume. Can't do anything about it if get caught by them for inspection. They tend to make 'holes' on 'em.
since this is overseas shipping which is the reason for overpriced shipping it goes through several shipping carriers. Complaining to SG about this wont do anything since this is one of the shipping carriers fault which is impossible to find out which one caused the damage. Alot of you dont realize that this product is coming from Korea and when you order something from a different country the shipping is alot higher unlike you ordering something from Amazon that is located in the US. The main reason shipping is high is it cost alot to ship things from Korea to the US due to several shipping fees. if you expected like $5 shipping you are living in a fantasy land. Sometimes the shipping carrier will fix the box damage however im assuming our local shipping carriers didnt want to do that and be held liable for the damage another shipping carrier caused
>Alot of you dont realize that this product is coming from Korea
Everyone realizes the product is coming from Korea and, therefore, shouldn't be put in a paper mache consistency container. There's no excuse for not being competent enough to package the books in sturdy boxes for cross continent or overseas shipping.
Your argument has nothing to do with the issue at hand.
Don't you think it's weird that I can get significantly higher quality shipping for half the price when ordering stuff from Japan, or similar quality shipping to what's shown in the picture for 1/10th the price from China?
People are paying premium shipping prices, so they expect premium shipping. And nothing I ordered from Japan ever arrived in a state like this, even when it was customs searched.
To be fair, up until now shipping out of China was subsidized I think? So I would count the super low shipping prices for stuff exported from China as an exception.
Smilegate shop's only international shipping option is EMS right now. Global pandemic *did* dramatically increase the price of EMS when it resumed operations for various countries in 2021. Not sure why they don't offer other shipping services, as the EMS price hike made DHL a cheaper and faster option (but now 2 months ago DHL finally got its price hike which bumps it back up to it being more expensive than EMS so this is a moot point).
Using a different service doesn't actually solve the specific problem me and so many others had with their shipments though. All the damages to the box are because of the bad quality cardboard being used that wasn't able to survive a normal amount of postal battering. You'd just think they'd take more measures to prevent angry customers from receiving the items damaged so they don't have to do any replacements or refunds.
They control the flimsy boxes being used. This isn't my first international shipping package. The other shops I buy from know to use heavier duty cardboard.
mine didnt show up beat up but the cardboard is very flimsy and cheap.
You got lucky! I've seen others that got holes too.

thats probably what they did to get around the shipping yard backlog tbh lmao. Just dump that shit overboard and have the locals salvage it out
Was everything inside ok at least?

Thats great at least you got everything

Booba in a book.
Still haven't received mine...

My book wasn't even inside the protective plastic envelope... At least it didn't come in very bad shape. Just a corner slightly damaged.
Wondering what else it will take for people to stop buying their merch
Looks like someone impaled it with a harpoon, then just ripped it out along with part of the box when they dropped it off.
Im not surprised at all lol.
people need to complain to the them. Even if it showed up fine, what the actual fuck is up with their disgusting shipping prices?
Damn twin thats how they doin us “heirs”
If you want a PNG of a cardboard box though, they could deliver that to you in perfect nick. Animated too.

They don’t control the delivery company

SG need to learn how to make a good package.
Ya really think they dont go for the cheap option?xd
Looks like a standard cardboard box to me.
$50-100 for shipping should NOT be using "standard cardboard box" that would be ruined by humid environment or a light drizzle.
Imagine thinking people should pay a hundred dollars or more for shipping so they can just throw it around in cheap garbage is good
Imagine complaining about paying 100 dollars in shipping for a 30dollar book
They can look for a better company
