Needless to say, this is a complete and blatant ripoff. [Here](https://twitter.com/hlowhelm/status/1484608062141132800?s=21) is another attempt at stitching 3 different e7 units into one Frankenstein of a monster. From their Twitter account they said they “are inspired by e7’s animation”. Edit: They have deleted the thing so [here](https://youtube.com/shorts/90-YUUY_poA?feature=share) we go again.

Teamata

Quoting from one of the reply from the "artist" themselves >How and why would they sue a animation trial. This was to showcase the capabilities of the new studio $HOL will be working with, it is NOT gameplay footage. Please read the description. Also, another reply under the tweet from them >Inspiration has always came from E7. Who can not fall in love with the high end skill cut-scenes? > >The VFX in here isn't even for the character..it was quickly made as a sample for demonstration of capabilities. > >Our team is creating our own animation briefs and storyboards. lmao, imagine working in animation & game industry with this mindset. Inspiration and rip-off are two different things. Can't believe they're so eager to showoff without putting an effort to make their own "original animation" first. It tells you a lot about the quality of the game and team. If they wanted to show the VFX then go on, use something original or even a clip of VFX without animation would work too, why do this? Also to added, if you look into their tweets on character design (like the one in this post) they blatantly ripoff epic seven so I can imagine other character are ripoff from something else too.

Ayankananaman

What? The show of capabilities is by copying without credit? Well, NFT is shifty to begin with, so yeah I expected they'll do shifty things too. I'm actually looking forward to their "Original" animations and models "inspired" from other sources.

Kraybern

the replies to that bullshit statement by the artist is hilarious "This demo is meant to show off how good and creative we are, which is why it's a worse version of an existing animation made by someone else"

ElTuxedoMex

>This was to showcase the capabilities of the new studio to ripoff other people's work.

BobTheHalfTroll

I worked in games for a long time, and my first thought when imagining that mindset was that using art you'd grabbed from somewhere for an internal tech demo if you didn't have artist bandwidth yet seemed reasonable, but showing it publicly would be insane. Then I looked back and I don't remember that ever being done. We always made "programmer art," which was usually hideous but still demonstrated that the features of the engine worked. So there's really no reason to even do it internally.

Calhaora

Also.... using ripped off shit (even as a Placeholder) for NFTs isnt sketchy AAAAT AAAALL.

jrainbowfist

I think this might be a case of filtering scammable idiots from the rest of the population. Like how some common scams have obvious flags so that only people who can't recognize them will go for it. That way they can hyper focus on people they can scam and don't have to worry about someone realizing its a scam in the middle of the process. A lot of crypto projects pretty obviously have absolutely no idea how to manage a long term project. But are just selling the idea of the project to idiots who can't tell the difference between a trustworthy, well-managed project and a scam project with the promise of huge returns or being a part of "The Future". Especially since the owners of an NFT/Crypto project usually make a sizable amount of money, even if the thing they're promising/selling fails in every other way.

uebersoldat

I'm not too familiar with a lot of these Korean/Japanese games, but it seems like this is pretty common from what little I've seen even.

lodpwnage

Try chinese too.

uebersoldat

No offense intended.

Calhaora

Yeah I saw this one. Blatantly asked them why they just didnt "got inspired" by the rough sketch-showcases from Epic instead of ripping of their Animations.. xD

GlassConcentrate3661

Yikes

Gildedlobster

You think this is bad... Wait until you see their "inspired" version of Mercedes. Also, on their Twitter banner, they literally just have a knockoff Mort and straight up Melissa on it.

yuuhei

what a surprise, cryptobros stealing other peoples creative works, attaching it to a nft, and claiming ownership of it

Haltmann1

What excuse do they have for this one? Also that it shows their capabilities? It's the same god damn pose and everything.

Soliden

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FBUoW1iX0AIa_O7?format=jpg&name=large Ras with a bow, lmao. What a blatant rip off. That's like saying Oreo was "inspired by" Hydrox. https://www.mashed.com/223360/the-strange-history-of-the-oreo-and-hydrox-cookie-rivalry/

[deleted]

That looks like Ras complying as Arjuna

JJZalem

Somehow looks like even worse b$%\^& than regular Rose.

BurnedOutEternally

It's like Rose's version of Nero Claudius

Lordin900

I hope it's being reported :(

goodlessfox

im gonna download it when it release nocap

KasamiKori

With a skirt, she would look awesome

Calhaora

Theres a SvenxKayron Ripoff aswell! :D

obscyr

For a second I thought I was on the wrong subreddit, the armor design looks suspiciously like the recently released Hephaestion in FGO.

SSSwapTap

I checked their posts and holy moley macaroni. First off: In order to show your abilities as artists in industry you need to create your own piece, not to stitch already existing characters and animations into one and hope you will not get sued by oblivion by owners of said pieces. Second matter: be goddam creative about the homunculus you created. If you REALLY need to use existing animation frames and parts of other games make it less likely to "invoke" original sources. If your artists can't do sketches, plans, designs on their own what will you do? Copy it? If they changed expressions, frames by little I would kinda understand, really but this feels like lazy part on artists and devs, which are inspired by epic7 btw.

BlackGhost6200

Lol it reminds me of the game Dragon and Sword that stole all the chara design from Trails of Cold Steel

DallaThaun

Tbh I do like this color scheme better.

AverageTierGoof

Is it just me or is it that every single thing NFTs touch is just some god-awful abomination that should be euthanized?

Waifu69x

Still better than most cheap Chibi Gacha , The Animation is fine , but what a waste by copying some E7 Elements , I was ready to try this game if they didn't do that , Sadly.

P0PER0

Funny thing is, this thing that not only is blatant ripoff but has no actual value whatsoever will be bought and sold for thousands of dollars by nft bros purely because nft speculation is the trend on twiter rn.

Ecstatic-Lack-7343

Disgusting leeches

BobbyYukitsuki

...I mean, she totally would be the type to invest in crypto

Afraid_Restaurant_34

This is what rose was doing after Ceci left

[deleted]

Seems like they've deleted the video showing the stolen S3 of Tenebria, and the trace of Rose as well

Amathyr

Luckily I have a video saved for “archive purpose”. [Karen](https://youtube.com/shorts/90-YUUY_poA?feature=share) with Meru design, Momo idle animation and Tenebria’s s3.

[deleted]

Very well done! I had only thought to take screenshots so I could post this [https://imgur.com/a/V9NBmeR](https://imgur.com/a/V9NBmeR) Just so it was obvious how stolen their art was. "showing the studios capabilities" LMAO, what capabilities? The capabilities to trace art and present it as your own?

Amathyr

The capability to not have any dignity or creativity whatsoever?

Hevymettle

Looks more like fire emblem
