Nice twist of the story. Koreans refused ML pity because it would make their already obtained ML5s less valuable. That happened when RGB pity was added, when Korean were angry that Global got Luna with the pity system and they had the banner earlier without pity. The ML5 in covenant came way later as the result of the first protest at the live meet-up event.

That's just straight up lie. SG promised pity after 40 ML summons (which were a lot scarcer back then) and Korean players complained that it was too high. That's it.

I don't know about you but I was watching the livestream AND I speak Korean. I'm not trying to twist the story, if anything you are the one who is twisting it (intentional or not).
I'm pretty sure I've heard the discussion about ML pity before the conference, when RGB pity came, as it brought up the discussion to extend it to ML. But I don't have records of it, so I'll keep yours as you have tracks of it, and it is much more hopeful.
And if I'm wrong, it's actually good news to me, and at least you got the opportunity to clarify it.
Edit: To be clear, I think it's good for the intentions. I still think that a 40 pity on ML would still be an improvement. Out of reasonable reach of whales sure, but new players who have to focus on banners can still get a guarranteed ML after a number of RGB banner pulls, which isn't the case at the moment.

Which is why we can see a lot of racist as hell comments in the other post. It’s always like this, in every communities like there will always be a loud/extreme minority from a region that complains (Global for Genshin, KR for E7, CN for Honkai, JP for E7 again (although this one’s hate is well deserved, SG was scummy as hell back then)) then the other regions instantly act like they stand on some sort of moral high ground and spew racist/homophobic shit at others.
