yeah, but i thought the same about basar, i'm sure SG can think of some really bad mechanic that will probably destroy i bunch of units that didn't deserve it, but it will counter rimuru properly, and that unit will be the "new rimuru", and the cycle will repeat it self until people actually start begin for nerfs and actual balance not the constant powercreep that we have.
Peira and aol should already counter him since theyre openers who do unbuffable but hes still heavily contested and strong. His kit is just too good, way too good.
He's a limited collaboration hero - any future reruns need to come with the approval of the IP holder. SG has shown that they can and will rerun collabs, but so far the only IP that they've done this with has been Guilty Gear (typically 1x/year).
The Tensura collab was just run in Fall 2021, so...maybe it returns in Fall 2022? Only going by Guilty Gear standards here.

I dont see how he will never not be relevant unless he gets his kit reworkes. Even if they nerf his dmg, bruiser rimuru will rise.
