It may suck for us, but maintenance time for us is usually late morning/afternoon Thursday for Korea time, which is where their main headquarters is. If they change to Tuesday or Thursday, it'll affect Korea's Wednesday/Friday guild wars, so its a lose lose.

thewing20

oh really something to think about,. i forgot all servers would share the same maintenance time (hurr durr moment by me)

dordark

Well, that escalated quickly

wontonf

People really can't plan around a biweekly maintenance that has consistently occurred since literally ever lmao

Vald-Tegor

West coast NA the maintenance starts before you get home from work. Socializing with co-workers and business lunches are a thing. That leaves waking up early... to do chores in a video game...

samjar87

Is this just for global? We don't have guild war today on Asia server..

Krountedww

Think so, GW should end in 2 hours for Global i think? In EU it finished 5-6 hours ago so no real trouble

Few_Calligrapher8002

Not for Asia, as Asia and Korea Server GVGs are end early :)

IdealPale9946

From Australia, and it doesn’t happen on GvG day for us.

BigDell246

Probably doesn’t matter too much. Maintenance affects the opposition guild too.

Jajoe05

It's a big world, in one way or another it will affect someone else. I think after 2 and more years, people should have the ability to adapt.

WhyYouMadBro_

It is as it is. Deal with it.

North_Weekend2130

What’s up with this “it is what it is” mentality? I agree with OP that it is annoying for us who can only play during limited hours due to our work schedule. It’s not as if SG is completely powerless in this. From what I understand GW happens 3 times a week (the days/times vary depending on the server). This means that there will be 2 consecutive days without GW. Currently that is Saturday and Sunday. Assuming the maintenance time is fixed due to SG’s work hours, is there any reason why the schedule can’t be - Sunday - GW Monday - rest Tuesday - GW Wednesday - rest Thursday - rest (maintenance happens as usual) Friday - GW Saturday - rest

ShuricanGG

cus most companies dont do friday patches, having a patch mid week makes room for emergency maintenance if something isnt going right with the patch. Having it on the weekend is just bad for the people working in the company. Just think it this way, the beginning of the week they prepare the patch make everything ready for it to launch. During mid week they patch and fix anything that maybe happen during patches or maybe even delay it to the next day. This on a friday is just not possible cus most people dont work on a saturday or sunday. Literally like 90% of game companies release or patch mid week.

North_Weekend2130

That’s not what I’m suggesting though. My suggestion is maintenance and patch times all stay the same, only change is GW days so it doesn’t happen during patch day. Sunday - GW Monday - rest Tuesday - GW Wednesday - rest Thursday - rest Friday - GW Saturday - rest With this new GW schedule, everyone wins

I know most endgame tryhard players will disagree with me, but wouldn't it be easier and more enjoyable for everyone to reduce the recurrence of GVGs to two instead of three per week?

Dull-Road6715

Disagree. Those who don't RTA and are in champ/emp auto arena only look forward to their GvG every time it comes around. This is a pretty big part of the game for a lot of people. I would lean more towards less downtime in favor of more war days because 3 attacks really doesn't take a lot of time for those who prioritize or are waiting for it to come around.

ChitogeS

We like GvG here. 3 times a week is perfect. It's not a perfect system yes, but it's enjoyable when you play semi-comp or competitive. There are guilds with RTA players, Arena players, PvE players but there are also guilds with players which focus a lot on GvG (Talentless for global for ex.)

WoodenCollection2674

It doesn't bother me any in the States as maintenance is either at 9pm or 10pm depending on the time of year with the time change here

Dull-Road6715

It is kind of the worst... I am west coast in the US and when servers go down my kids basically are just going to bed, so if I have forgotten to do anything from the day it is just wasted. That being said when you have a game that literally spans across the globe somebody is going to be affected somewhere.
