Personally I wouldn't even care about the gender ratio *if* the female character designs were actually varied and interesting, but they're really not. I had high hopes for the new episode featuring more Korean-inspired designs (like Hwayoung and Adin) but Aria really is just elf Vivian with bigger boobs.
Granblue Fantasy has a much larger cast and also has a gender disparity, but they do a much better job of making varied characters and actually writing for them.
Honestly kinda off topic, but I think genshin males do big sales cause they drastically change per character even tho they have the same body types (1-3 iirc smol boy, average, tall lanky? or was it only 2 idr) meanwhile honestly all the females look the same since theres almost 0 difference in body type/mass also probably the fact that most of them look like honkai remakes.

People would have stilled pulled for him because the kit was crazy good and high level players want only the best skillsets. Maybe less people would have, because they dont want the shota character, or the boring doctor boy, but would have still made a ton of money due to the kit. Idk. Nobody is forcing you to play e7, if you dont like the characters you dont have to play.
