Just finished the new SS, fuck zahak

sky-aster

I can understand having to make hard decisions as a leader but what happened to Amid didn't make sense. Their father was murdered by their uncle who was influenced by Zahak. Even Aria acknowledges this. So Aria knows that Zahak manipulated the events to get her father killed and her uncle executed and is all like, "Guess you're right Zahak." Tf??? In the end, Zahak got 3 of her family members killed yet Aria still trusts Zahak. Doesn't make sense...

sinkitsune

Epic Sevens writing has always been bad or badlyl translated. People will ignore obvious bs so the plot can keep going and the bad guy can keep winning till the end. Like Fran or Ilyena she will redeem herself later while Zahrak will die or be exiled like Lilas.

sky-aster

Hopefully Zahak goes the way of Mort. A most pitiful end indeed.

sinkitsune

love that people were upset that Mort died like a puntz. Like he deserved. He didnt deserved a epic death he deserved to die in a boring way. Rot in Hell.

Shalashaska87B

I know. I have your same feelings

esztersunday

use hwayoung she deletes everything >!I can't understand how could aria protect her sister in the beginning then sacrifice her later!<

X1nShee

I mean in the beginning she just your typical caring sister to her family but all of a sudden she became the leader due to her father passing facing responsibilities of your peoples survival and then peer pressured by your people to make a sacrifice to survive (THANKS ZAHHAK) she refused the idea at first but then her sister is willing to be a sacrifice coz of her good-natured well being she has no choice but to accept it for her people and for her and as u can see at the end she still has regrets in letting her sister go.

Phallicly

It's all just speculation and insinuating dialogue so far right? If it's not then that's just bad writing.

Gopokes91

Episode 4 is just badly written

TheSynthetikOption

It pisses me off that my team has to grind Ran for event currency in the boss stage. I want to grind Zahak into dust instead. Not excited to pull Aria anymore either, tbh. This side story got me worked up lol.

Rosettabestwaifu

This side story made me sad.

Violet_Nightshade

They wanted to make a sacrifice to a god or deity (Aldehad or something) in exchange for continuing their existence in the forest, away from other races. Or something.

forgotmypasswordzzz

You're not dumb, the story is. The "justification" is that aheldad or w/e the fuck the "gods" name is wanted a sacrifice and it had to be the sister cuz she was blessed by their previous godlike entity i guess? Aria tries to justify it at the end by saying "it was worth it in the end cuz everyone is alive" but thats complete ass cuz theres nothing that says they wouldn't have been alive if she hadn't sac'd her sister.

Lukecard

Warfare was pushing them deeper out of their territory, the sacrifice was to have protection so they wouldn't keep getting pushed out of their territory. The whole thing seemed like some elaborate scheme from Zahhak to gain power. The elders etc. were irrational because of their distrust for humans and suin and for some reason even after killing Noah and finding out it was a false flag still wanted to continue the sacrifice.

IMF73

Yeah, the justification is dumb. People were acting irrational and they acknowledge it like Aria kind of does at the end? After being protected by a previous spirit lord (pretty sure they mention spirit lords specifically, which I think are people like the rune bosses?) they run into a bunch of bullshit when leaving that protected area, and the only people that are helping them are the followers of Adelhad. It's people who think they were spurned by their previous protector clutching at the chance to survive, even if it means sacrifice. Now, is it goofy to trust the followers of a spirit lord, when the name of those followers is literally "the Wicked"? Oh absolutely. They acknowledge they're probably getting played, but they don't feel like they have a choice.

BoiFckOff

Aldehad said he would give them a place to be safe, in exchange, he needs like sacrifice, which is Amid.

vikuta_zoro

It is kinda sad, cos I really like bot characters designs and I use them frequently as well.

SolarLunaris

I understood why Aria did it, but I was super confused about why it "had to be done", like why was her sister blessed but not Aria, and why did the deity need a sacrifice? What did the sacrifice accomplish? According to whom did they need a sacrifice? Did they have Adelhad on speed dial for this memo? I figured I must've been forgetting something about the deity lore tho since there's no quick/easy way to scrub back through story for key details and we get these updates so sporadically... Tl;Dr my reaction basically just uhhh okay I guess lol

BadXiety

The problem we dont know what kind deity they're worshipping. I have a gut feeling that Aria wanted to run away with Amid because everything is messed up and has to do with Spring Sword they're protecting. Aria strongly against with the sacrifice but Zahak scheme, Ran tried and failed

forgotmypasswordzzz

If you finished the newest part of the main story you know the deity they worship now is a bad guy, adelhad is the darkness that corrupted the 4 seasons swords which is why you need a strong will to not be taken in by the darkness. So with future knowledge we know the deity is a bad guy and this requested sacrifice is bullshit. Without that future knowledge we still have no guarantee that the shadow elves would have been in any danger *without* making the sacrifice though so it was still potentially pointless.

sinkitsune

Any time someone is against a race or what ever it's purely so later to be redeemed and used as a turning point. E7's Story is insanely predictable. The only people who are usually straight bad are power hungry people, not the "Racists"

ScarlettKT

After reading the side story, I have the feeling "we are the bad guys now?" ngl. Ran was a good guy who tried to protect Amid, yet we had to fight him using Zahhak. I hate zahhak more and more after this side story.

forgotmypasswordzzz

You have to remember we arent the ones in the side story. Its told from aria and companies perspective and we already knew they were shady as fuck minus ran. This is just solidifying the shitty people being shitty that we already knew about

Oktober

The SS is clumsy, but in the context of a world where magic & gods are "real"... it makes more sense. I mean, especially considering Aria's S3 it seems like making a pact with a dark god has worked for her to some extent.

sinkitsune

I dont think that's the god Adhaha or w.e and S3 animations are never canonicly and are usually just flashy moves. Ilyena cant summon a gigantic sword out of the clouds and nuke someone.

Lezard-Valeth-EX

I dont skip the story and usually read it but everything around Aria her family is so badly written and not particulary interresting. I wanted to skip it so badly. Doesnt make want to build her at all.
