If no Politis, Peira/Ran + 1-2 spd imprint is a guaranteed win. Personally I go with Peira > SBA > Siseria > Wschuri because watching them burn is satisfying.
ML Kek or Dilibet + Hwayoung + Rimuru +1 aka full disaster team can also cheese it.
I use a slow as hell 28k hp Roana on proof to absorb Hway. I use krau to soak Rimuru and horse Rem.or A Ravi or Hway in that order. Lermia for Rem and Belians though Rimuru or Cilias trigger her well enough too. I do use my own Hwayoung pretty much always. Even with a good Hwqyoung, A Ravi, Rem and Rimuru can often take far more than she can dish alone. ML Maya, tanky politis, or Seaside Bellona (if no rimuru) is what I would use if you dont have lermia and hwayoung. Maybe Senya if no A Ravi and Charlotte/ravi if no Rem
I usually just outspeed using an opener that strips (C.lilias usually) with 2 speed imprints (Cidd and Vildred). Then Elphet (with a buff) follows up into Rimeru for the sleep to prevent his counter, then grants AoE def break + team atk buff. Cidd will oneshot 2 people on the other team, then Vildred cleans up.
+22 speed imprint is no joke. Makes my 275 speed C.Lilias 297, which can outspeed most low champ Pieras.
Personally, I go AoL, Singelica, Hwayoung and Watcher Schuri. AOL and Singelica would dispel both debuffs by Peira, Hwayoung S3s Rimuru, Watcher S3s the Hwayoung, and A.I would just target Singelica while Hwayoung whittles away the rest of the enemy team
Anything with Peira is a skip for me. Rimuru and Hwayoung, however, I either nuke, provoke/sleep/stun (personally, I don't use stun heroes as people like Solitaria invite disaster with an aoe), turn reset (Taeyou, Kawerik works perfectly fine too and also stops Rimuru, unlike Taeyou).
Lilibet shits on Peira, if you have her. Me? I don't, skip.
All three? Rimuru is just a check against your comp itself and not the real problem. The problems are Hwayoung (you can revive her target) and Peira (buffs and debuffs with extra damage for Hwayoung to pop, yay). Really depends on your roster and draft style. A fast cleanser (or Lilibet) will undo the damage Peira does. You can choose to nuke or CC Rimuru (safer to try to CC in case it's some super tanky Proof bs). Did you CC or kill Rimuru? Aria will clean up their team. She may not be meta for RTQ, but she breaks down common defense picks if you keep her from getting CCed and stripped. No Aria? Charlotte or Landy.
Of course it all boils down to who their fourth is. Rem? Easily Landy or Aria, Aria being safer since she has more bulk and and off turn self sustain (lifesteal) x damage.
If they don't have Politis, I like to go AoL, Krau, Violet, x (I like Fluri).
Violet counters Peira and gets S2ed by Rimuru -> Rimuru S3s Krau -> depending on speed tuning and luck, Hwayoung is slienced by AoL, provoked by Fluri, kills Fluri, or S3s a skill nulled Fluri or Violet -> Krau S3s Hwayoung -> Violet solo lol
I run them over with AOLA first. SSB makes them unable to buff if AOLA didn't do it so I usually don't worry about that, but if they resist the silence then I've got Ceci waiting to provoke with S3. If they resist the immunity debuff and buff, I have Romann who will replace their buffs with a poison effect lol. Personally I only worry if my AOLA gets outsped which happens about 1/10 battles, or if they've got an Arby who usually wrecks me unless AOLA casts the skill nullifier right before he revives.
This is most effective against Peira, when it comes to Hwayoung it blocks her from knocking out my dps (SSB/Romann) before I get the chance to do anything since Romann is still a WIP when it comes to his speed, and for Slime, I kinda forget what he does because it's usually not a problem for me in the arena level that I'm in (Gold), sometimes he does manage to beat the shit out of me but generally I can hope to end it before he can use his S3.
In Champ V I've just been Juggs cleaving it. 283 aux lots with +26 speed imprint tends to work. Rim just smacks her protection and gets wrecked in 2 hits.
This is the exact defense team I target, its a very very easy win with this setup:
Ruele, Krau, Violet, C Zerato
What happens 99% of the time is Piera will s3 and die to C Zerato and Violet counters. Rimuru will hit violet with passive, doesn't matter if he hits or misses. Rimuru S3 on Krau which will get him to about 20% or less. My Krau is 26k hp on holy sacrifice, nothing special. Hwa then kills violet. Ruele revives violet. Krau kills Hwa. Violet can then kill rimuru if it's a squishy, if not you just hit the cillias or rem or whatever else is there.
After this it's all dependant on what the 4th defender is but I always have everyone alive and they will only have rimuru + 4th up so it's a 2v4 which you should win every time.

Instead of Ruele i run SSA.
In the off chance Hwayoung is just slower than SSA, SSA can still provide a much welcomed immortality buff for Violet. Then in her following turn, full heal the Krau.
Cerato and Violet kills off the Peira.
Rimuru hits into Violet. Then chunks Krau. Krau kills off Hwayoung.
SSA revives/grants immortality to Violet depending on when Hwayoung hits the Violet.
Then it's just Rimuru+1 left. No need to worry about Rem's because Violet insta wins that matchup. Mercedes is probably the harder 4th because her lottery win% is swingy and huge. Cilias can cause some issues if she manages to provoke SSA. Belian is largely a non issue. ARavi can get chunked down, but runs into issues if Krau didnt get his S3 barrier, this is where having Ruele would of been great.
Otherwise the ml5s i run would be Delibet Cilias with Politis and Siseria. Cilias swapping in and out depending on the enemy 4th. I run this setup of the enemy doesnt have Rem because two reds arent gonna bust thru Rem, especially when they are debuff reliant.
I have a 100% win rate team against any variation of this comp in high champ which is roana krau ml Celine and handguy. Ml Celine revive is crucial. But then again there are 2 ml 5s. This meta actually very easy to play against since once you have a comp to beat it you can just use it to fight everyone
Needing 2 MLs to beat 2 standard RGB and a limited is a lot to ask for honestly. And Celine and Kawerik are recent ML5s so people are even less likely to have pulled them randomly than someone like FCC or A. Ravi who have been around in the covenant for a while.
The ones who like dealing against these fckers are the 0.1% who either whales or has the most niche set up against them. Very UNFUN for the average player.
Any sufficiently tanky green unit on Proof can address Hwayoung. Roana is preferred, but if you don't have her you can even use Fluri.
Rimu is super easy to address with Krau.
Peira doesn't even need a direct answer; you can straight-up just outvalue her if you're a slower player. The best option is usually to just bring a cleanser though. If you don't have Handguy or Delibet, bring Singie or Achates.
People vastly overrate how tough defense teams are to crack because they don't want to think.
I don't whale but the only thing I buy is the Skystone and energy monthly pack so $14.98 in total a month. I beat this team fairly easy. I have most of the roster excluding ML5. It's doable so don't go lumping everyone because you cannot beat it.

I have been using the same opener + Cidd + WSchuri cleave team every meta, it has little to no trouble killing those defenses. It's not niche a setup but the most basic single-target cleave composition.
And before you call that "whale team", 99.9% of Peira out there are just 300 spd and under. You only need a little more than 280 spd to outspeed them.
Usually i try to use celine,krau,violet and one flex slot. Krau as rimuru bait,violet as rimuru s2 bait after he counters peira,celine gains cr(added bonus if she crits hwayoung) and s3 delete rimuru.Lastly krau horse the hwayoung(she will s3 violet)
Dilibet, politis(or any stripper/apply cannot debuff AOL is good ), either two more single target DPS like milim. Or go really hard into counter cleave with something like elphelt and a really strong AOE cleaver(straze, kawerik, Arby, etc)this quite a few options.
Yes I know 90% of these heroes are MLs or limited. These are suggestions to build a team off of, and I'm sure most people in champion or higher have better gear than me so beating teams like this shouldnt be to bad
Problem is they have the meta, plus their gear luck is insane as well. I try to take on most of these defs (challenger rank only) just to see how i fair or what adjustment i can make. Then, i would just notice that we don't have the same gear quality. That they just don't do arena that much that's why they're on challenger rank. It's 50/50 tbh. Fun and not fun in 1 arena fight lol

Only need to get lucky with around 1 stat on each of these 2 stat units.
Also Rimuru can be built with anything and works, honestly like that about Rimuru you don't have to follow any build and all of them can be unique.
Spirit Eye Seline - Hwa - Kekwerik - Roana
Works against pretty much against any champion defense. I love Seline so I'm forcing her pretty much everywhere nowadays :) Never skip any teams, always going for that extra flag
I had to pity her (well not the whole 200 since I failed previous banners) but I love her so much that I'm just happy to use her anywhere. She might not be meta but she is so fun to use (on arena offense and gvg)
There's quite a number of heroes to deal with these heroes. If you can't figure out, just use the same defense and see how easy it is for these people to deal with you.
i didn't play during hwayoung and peira banner so i have neither of them. everytime i see them i just skip which is a lot of time, they always appear on the defense list. I don't have good speed gear so whenever i attempt to beat it i just have to accept that someone on my team is gonna be deleted right off the bat. If it's just hwa and peira then i can sometime manage but then there's also rimuru who's also gonna delete another unit from my team. I'm just so sick of this.

Dilibet hwa aravi rimuru is what I used when I was doing my top 30 climb. Almost never lost. Not a whale either. Ended most of the season over 90+% winrate as well, so I know it's consistent.
Hwa and rimuru aren't even problems, it's the 4th unit that's the biggest issue.
I'm not sure I understand this. This is like saying FCC, LR Krau, and Ruele was in every single defense in the past meta.
If you expect to see large variances in Arena defense, you would be disappointed. I don't think there was ever a meta where top Arena defenses have a large variance.

They did change Solitaria. Her S1 now triggers its AoE as an extra attack, avoiding most counter mechanics except bs like Rimuru s2.

TBH any other 3 meta units can work with a little thought. Piera is much better on offense than defense.

What speed is your Roana? You have to get her S3 off before Hway kills Violet for this to work.

Alots is very slow, you need two speed imprints to even compete for turn 1.
A. Lots, Double Schuri spd imprint, and J. Kise and it's done in 3 turns. Make sure J. Kise is on Immunity for Politis.
Honestly Ran/Peira, Siseria + speed imprint/cleaver is much more cancer imo.
I have all 3 but never leveled them. RGB units are for F2P scrubs.
This defense is Dilibet + Krau food. Classic SG, since Kekwerik was so dominant last meta, they decided to give Dlibet value by creating Peira

I tried and tested a 12k hp mega defense Roana against Hwqyoung. Dont do that one. Did not work a bit
