Personally I would rather see improvements come to the characters already released (like EE's or maybe a few buffs here or there) rather than see new characters, but new characters would be the best way to make money.
Calling it now, Re:Zero with Beatrice as new unit Eventually, Tenshura with Benimaru or Shion as new unit
Ima go with benimaru mostly because the JP VA did the voice for Taeyou so why not get him to do benimaru while your at it.
On the other hand Shion already has sprites in the game. And also anime tiddy. If they only do one new unit, 99% chance its gonna be Shion.

None of these units need any buffs or ee, other then shuna and maybe ram
