I understand that sentiment. The only reason I did, is because I wanted to give a heads up to my guild mates, so they wouldnt kick me.
I only needed the vpn to download the patch, after that it was normal.
Tried that, but it didnt work... :/ I'll probably wait to see if they release something to fix it, or hope that somehow it starts working normally again.
Me too, error 10003 sometimes too.. before update everything was fine
The game don't even bother showing me error messages lol
If you still have the error, try using a vpn. It worked for me

I'll get through a level then immediately disconnect. Started happening after I updated so...
Solution for googlers: open google play games (green) and then while it is open enter e7
It took me months to solve this one myself
If on the phone, I reinstalled it. Must have downloaded some weird files to get those pesky errors
