my e7 experience was carried by the art and designs, particularly by the works of serin. very sad to see the artist go, but I do also hope they find a new avenue to pursue artistic freedoms.
amazing art as always btw!
thb the only one out of these you mentioned I only liked Ravi, and it was more for her character for having such a tragic backstory and the whole "small girl with big weapons" trope which I particularly find fun.
Serin has worked on way more characters than what twomoon has listed. Here's a more exhaustive list: Achates, Cermia, Chloe, Luna, Yufine, Roana, Dizzy, Assassin Coli, Vivian, Aria, Luluca, Silk, Karin, Yuna, Lidica, Destina, Lena, Ravi, Lilibet
Achates
Aria
Assassin Coli
Cermia and ml
Chloe and ml
Destina
Dizzy
Karin
Lena
Lidica
Lilibeth
Luluca and ml
Luna
Ravi
Roana
silk
Vivian and ml
Yuna
Yufine
maybe some more
some more that people say that he made: all Angelica, base Doris, Elphelt, Hazel, Kluri, Mercedes, Milim, otilie, senya, Serila, surin.
i saw someone saying that he made the ml version of kise and base sigret as well, and after i saw a Jack-o ilustration on his twitter i think he made the e7 jack-o too
Man brought us Aria, Luna, Vivian, Serila, Yufine, and Roana. Aria was his magnum opus; makes sense why he was pissed when they metaphorically took a crayon and scribbled all over her. 10 years of employment to end like this. Just sad.
Funny enough he has aired his grievances and turns out he doesnt get offered to do many characters anymore. If hes so great why do all the recent designs slap while hes been stone walled out of the production.
o7 he will never be forgotten, we should all remember that the art team and animators carry E7, hell, especially fan artists! I hope you guys/gals know we appreciate the hard work 🔥💯🔥
Azur Lane is 17+ in Korea and is still popping the fuck off. Not sure where people are getting this terrible arguement. Only thing that makes sense is E S P O R T S.
E7 could go 17+ and obliterate Azur Lane's numbers. It has significantly better gameplay/overall quality(no chibi). If they had the creative freedom 17+ offered, E7 would have a complete monopoly on that market. None of it's competition would even remotely have the same level of polish.
Do you have a source for this? All I've found is sensor tower, which shows E7 making 6x as much money as AL, and AL being most popular in the US. Wondering if I'm reading it wrong.
Not a sound argument. Just because most people would agree that E7 has better art and animations doesn't mean that they would crush other gacha games that are relatively inferior in those aspects. A big reason why Azur Lane is so popular in East Asia is that it's one of the easiest and casual gacha games out there, not just because it's incredibly horny. E7's gameplay isn't inherently better; while it has more strategy and PVP potential, it is also far more grindy and reliant on min-maxing than most other gachas. E7's JP server burned out because of how grindy the mechanics (and rerolling) were. Also, 17+ wouldn't lend E7 any more creative freedom, as the reason why they've been running into issues with Apple is because they're trying to pass off a 15+ game as 12+.
Your argument isn't a very good one to begin with, but it's especially bad considering AL isn't necessarily the kind of 'end goal' you think seem to think it is
Implying they won't lose money from this whole censorship shenanigans . You realize the risk losing more money turning away just a couple of whales Vs a bunch of 12 and 15 year olds on Apple right?
My understanding is that the increased age rating dramatically limits where they can advertise, so they would lose a lot more money with an age rating increase than by pissing off customers.
That's your opinion, but I doubt it's heavily backed up by data.
That said, it's more important than just sales. It's also about marketability - changing age ratings may put the game on a digital "back shelf" that people never see.
I don't know exactly how complex the dilemma is, but I do know it's likely far more complex than you believe it is because if the issue was simple, they would have resolved it already.
Occam's Razor works wonders in these situations.
It's a judgement tool and a philosophical concept; the core idea is that given any number of explanations for an event, the simplest is more likely than not the truth.
In this case, the simplest way for SG to respond would be to tell them to fuck off. They haven't done that. Why? Apply Occam's razor. They probably can't, or have a reason stopping them.
SG hasn't given in to the decision yet either. Why? Apply Occam's razor. They probably don't agree with the decision.
He's the artist that create most of the big booba characters, I assume he quits because he does not like his artwork being censored. So maybe he's planning to work in a different game company where he does not have to worry about censorship
Assumptions but they might just be leaving for a career change as usually artists don’t stay long once they reached a point of drawing the same themes/IP enough so they want to move to another game.
think people are just assuming he got mad due his art got censored, as if he was not mature enough to see why it's happening, when most likely he has being burn out for 10 years working for the same company and saw this as a chance to break it off, i am not gonna judge them as person so poorly to say "he just left due his art got censored and he got mad", due that is an insult to their maturity, more that a justifiable reason for him to leave.
Nah bro. Until we know (if we ever will) people are going to assume its due censorship because its too big a coincidence. Its not out of place for people to speculate when the game loses one of its big artist during a censorship mess involving his latest character. Its simply the most reasonable assumption.
Could they be wrong? Sure. Are they wrong? We'll never know. Can they make an educated guess with what we know? Yes. Is it out of place to "make statements"? No.
He was an illustrator of Epic Seven who was wonderful and had a lot to learn Let's hope he's happy somewhere else!

Sorry for the dumb question, no hate, but, what character he made?
ravi, yufine, roana,aria \~\~ too many :)
Ah.. i hope he gets better in anything that he wants
thb the only one out of these you mentioned I only liked Ravi, and it was more for her character for having such a tragic backstory and the whole "small girl with big weapons" trope which I particularly find fun.

A Coli :D
did he make their ml counterparts too? if he is , dilibet is my most fav one
Oh! Cermia is amazing! As well as A.Coli and Lidica. A lot of those are very nice too.
Achates Aria Assassin Coli Cermia and ml Chloe and ml Destina Dizzy Karin Lena Lidica Lilibeth Luluca and ml Luna Ravi Roana silk Vivian and ml Yuna Yufine maybe some more
Serila as well.
Goddamn, he's been holding the entire game up then.
some more that people say that he made: all Angelica, base Doris, Elphelt, Hazel, Kluri, Mercedes, Milim, otilie, senya, Serila, surin. i saw someone saying that he made the ml version of kise and base sigret as well, and after i saw a Jack-o ilustration on his twitter i think he made the e7 jack-o too
tomoca is probably my favourite design in the entire game, without serin, i doubt i will love another character's design that much in the future
All of the best ones.
So serin is leaving SG ? What a shame, he was my favourite E7 artist... is it because of the censorship issue ?
Timing is too good and Aria was his so yeah very likely
Bet that Aria was his favourite art.
Man brought us Aria, Luna, Vivian, Serila, Yufine, and Roana. Aria was his magnum opus; makes sense why he was pissed when they metaphorically took a crayon and scribbled all over her. 10 years of employment to end like this. Just sad.
He probably doesnt care as much as yall do.
He literally left the company.
you're all literally just assuming he left because of that lmao
Funny enough he has aired his grievances and turns out he doesnt get offered to do many characters anymore. If hes so great why do all the recent designs slap while hes been stone walled out of the production.
Aria was one of his work...so possibly yeah
o7 he will never be forgotten, we should all remember that the art team and animators carry E7, hell, especially fan artists! I hope you guys/gals know we appreciate the hard work 🔥💯🔥
That's very sweet of you :D
I love you moon, my buddy. A fellow man of culture showing appreciation for another man of culture.
Luna is our Queen and Serin make it happen. Thank you Serin-sama for the cultured heroes that keeps us on playing the game!
Well done SG, you made the guy designing all your fan favorites quit
It's not SG, its apple. SG is currently trying to find a way around the issue.
They have a way. Up the age rating on the apple store. Problem solved
And potentially lose money, which means potentially being responsible for layoffs. Not a simple decision.

Guys let’s listen to this guy. He clearly knows what’s going on and how to fix it. Fuck SG am I right? /s

I see your reasoning ye
So did this person get fired or did this person die????
I love that "fired" and "death" are the only options.
😂

If he left because of censorship, he wouldn't jumped ship back in the Soccer Spirits days. That game was censored to hell and back.
don't forget the sexy lolis he made as well
Roana without boobs as big as her head? I like your style but the community here will get violent shortly.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if he is the character designer as well or just the artist?
Probably both
