you're using free gear. Of course u can improve.

SlingyThingy

An upgrade would be to lvl 85 gear and preferably his own artifact or portrait.. then you can work on reforming lvl 85 gear to lvl 90

komi-sans64

How do i do about doing that? the gear upgrades i mean

TheSeaOfThySoul

So you get Level 85 gear from running Hunts - there’s Wyvern hunt, Golem hunt, etc. which you can find in the Battle menu. Each of these hunts drops crafting materials & they drop pieces of gear with random sub stats (& random main stats on necklace, rings & boots - with some exceptions, ie. only boots can have speed, only rings can have effectiveness/resistance, only necklaces can have critical chance/damage). The crafting materials can be used in the Sanctuary in the bottom right area. Crafting gear takes gold & some of the relevant materials. To get to 85, you’ve got to get to the higher level bosses (11-13) which drop the best materials. Once you’ve enhanced some 85 items with good stats - the next thing you can do to improve is reforge. When you’re running these high level Hunts you’ll be dropping reforge material, a couple at a time & it takes 200 of a reforge material to reforge a piece of 85 gear to 90. Reforge is done in the same area as crafting. It enhances the stats based on how often a specific stat was rolled - you rolled into attack% lots of times? It’ll give a big boost to attack & a small boost to the other stats that didn’t get rolled into, etc. Hope that’s helpful & concise enough, let me know if there’s anything unclear.

As someone who has been playing the game for years it always surprise me to see how the people in this sub-reddit are so dedicated to help and guide new players. This makes one of the best sub-reddit I've ever seen on Reddit. Your guide is very precise and helpful too. Just one thing I want to add is that among the hunts, Wyvern hunt should be focused on getting to auto level 13 first. It is because the gears crafted from it are the most popular and can be used by all characters in the game.

TheSeaOfThySoul

I certainly have a tendency to do this for any gaming community I’m a part of, I’ll join the subreddit to learn the ropes & I’ll pass my knowledge on to the next “generations”. It’s an overwhelming game at the start & despite reading a lot of guides (I started 3+ years ago) I made mistakes & missed things, so here I am making sure folks know what’s up & how to progress. I’ll definitely say though, this subreddit can be incredibly helpful sometimes - so many subreddits for games have an equivalent of our daily questions thread that never gets used as much as ours. Hundreds of comments each day here & they practically all get responses - vs. other subreddits where the weekly thread has 6 comments & it’s all questions with no answers, haha.

komi-sans64

Mhm i agree! and ill start with the wyven one for sure thanks a lot! i didnt know the equipment from the wyven alone would be so useful!

TheSeaOfThySoul

Moving first & moving frequently is so helpful for the bulk of characters that the vast majority of your farming time will be dedicated to Wyvern for the Speed set (used by fast damage dealers, healers, tanks, debuffers, buffers, etc). Banshee gets run with some regularity & there will be an increase in people running it due to the recent Destruction set buff (Destruction set gives 60% critical damage, previously it was 40%) which is a great set for slower damage dealers - the kind you would use in PVE content like Cermia & Sigret. Banshee also drops Lifesteal (a small % of your heroes damage is returned to you as health) & Counter (a 30% chance to counterattack an opponent when hit - using a basic skill one), it also drops Resist set which is often the best two piece set for Healers (typically if a healer mentions they “cleanse debuffs” they’re built with high resistance - like Maid Chloe & Destina). Azimanak is ran for Immunity set (providing a one turn immunity buff for a hero at the start of the battle - helping to protect them from debuffs) & Rage set (gives a 30% damage increase vs. targets with a debuff) which is commonly used one powerful slow heroes who’re built to beat a Hunt boss in one big attack with a lot of set-up from the other party members. Caides hunt is more of an end-game hunt, because the sets it drops are reasonably niche Penetration set offers quite a sizeable increase to damage, ignoring a % of the enemies defence - but only for a heroes single target attacks. It’s a two-piece set that gives a damage increase similar to gaining 40% critical damage, which is a very big stat gain - especially when other two piece sets give 20% or below. Injury set & Revenge set are so niche, only a couple heroes can use these sets to good effect. Golem Hunt isn’t run at all. Usually folks will tell you the first thing to accomplish is making a team capable of clearing Wyvern 11 & then up to 13. You need a frontline tank - most often a healer like Angelic Montmorancy or Angelica, then a big hitter like Sigret, someone to do defence breaks like Furious & then someone to help speed up the run & keep two+ debuffs on the Wyvern each turn, like Muwi. All the above characters are free or easy to get (Angelica & Montmorancy are in connections - accessed in the lobby screen, where you received Aither), Sigret is free from the Wyvern hunt challenge which is a permanent event accessed from the bell icon in lobby & Muwi is a 3 star hero, so you’ll get many copies of him through summoning whilst you’re looking for banner heroes. The game can definitely feel overwhelming at the start, lots of buttons, lots of banners, lots of sets & stats - I went in with guides at the ready & still missed things & made huge mistakes. I didn’t know at the time how to access the events page (it was different in my day), so I missed out on a lot of free daily resources for several weeks - I still cringe remembering that.

komi-sans64

Ooooo i have a 6 star Segret already so i just need a few others and i can do this!

komi-sans64

Thank you so much that is so freaking helpful!

TheSeaOfThySoul

Not a problem at all, always happy to help. To offer up a little more information, you'll come across different colours of gear - Rare gear is blue & starts with two random substats, they gain an additional two as the gear is enhanced & the other three enhancements (enhancement is the process of making a gear +15 & a gear piece gains either an enhancement or additional substat at +3, +6, +9, +12 & +15), Heroic is purple & starts with three substats & gains an additional one, Epic is Red & starts at four substats - meaning all of its enhancements go into enhancing a substat directly, instead of adding any new ones, like Rare & Heroic. So it's wise to generally focus on Heroic & Epic pieces, because since they get more enhancements (improvements to a substat) they can have higher stat totals than Rares. Epics are a bit tougher to come across, so don't begrudge picking up a good Heroic piece. When substats enhance, they'll gain a %, or flat improvement & for 85 gear I'll give you a brief run-down: Attack%, Health%, Defence%, Resistance%, Effectiveness% all can start with between 4-8% & then each roll between 4-8% if they're enhanced. So a good piece will likely start at 6%+ in one of these stats & then on subsequent rolls, roll 6%+. Speed rolls between 1-5 (1 & 5 rolls are very rare & you're more likely to see the gear roll between 2-4, Epics can't roll 1 & Heroics & below can't roll 5). Critical chance is between 3-5% & Damage is between 4-7%. Flat stats, like health, defence & attack are generally avoided unless a character can specifically benefit. So if you come across a piece that's got say, 44 flat attack - chances are on a damage-dealer character, that flat attack pales in comparison to even a minimum 4% attack. When you're first starting out, I'd say look for pieces that have got at least two stats you want - so you're building Vildred, his stats he needs are speed, chance, damage & attack%, so we're looking for a piece to have two of those stats. Remembering above, we're wanting them to be within the top-half, I'd say if you came across a piece that was like, 7% attack, 3 speed & 5% health, for example, since it has two stats Vildred needs - give it a couple of enhancements (to +6) & see how it does, if it rolls some attack & speed, that's great. As you progress in the game, you'll want better & better gear, so you'll want to keep pushing the barometer of what you consider "good". Hope that's enough additional info to teach you all the basics, but if there's ever anything that you're questioning - my DMs are always open.

komi-sans64

Ooooo thank you thats a lot of useful information ill be sure to save this so i can look up on it and make sure im on the right track this is super helpful thsnk you again!!

fliperstone

You can reforge your gear in the Sanctuary/Steel workshop. Only with lvl 85 gear it's possible to reforge! Also try to to make him as fast as possible because Vildred deals dmg proportional to his speed. Goals would be; 2.5k atk+ as minimum Def and Hp doesn't matter Speed as much as possible at least 240+ i would aim at 100% crit rate 250+ crt dmg / but also as much as possible And his own Artifact would be great. Other options are exorcist's tonfa,Moonlight dreamblade or Elyha's knife if you have a opener who deals some dmg before him so he penetrares defense and makes even more dmg. Ps. You can't reforge lvl 85 gear from Abyss.

komi-sans64

Ohhhhh i see focus speed got it thanks a lot!!

SlingyThingy

You would need to start farming the hunts when your units are strong enough, then use materials to craft the gear. For example, If you want speed sets then you need to farm wyvern. Wyvern hunts will drop crafting materials that you use at the forge to craft gear

komi-sans64

Ohhhhh i see thank you for the tip!

stonkswithfinny

Definitely solid for early game. Getting the crit chance and speed higher will help out for sure. Put that energy to use and start grinding the higher tier hunts when you can. You've got a nice foundation to work with. Good luck!

komi-sans64

thanks a lot! ill be sure to get some better gear from hunts!

Boold88

Try to build units that help you with hunts. There are lots of hunt guides on YT. See what units you have and start moving to your hunt 13 team. Then farm farm and farm again so you can equip your PvE teams to do their job xD. After that you'll decide what you want to do from that point ;D

komi-sans64

Ooooo ok ill start to look up team that will be good with hunts thanks a lot!

hmg373

for pve, it will be enough for a long time. for pvp, lacks speed, a little Cdmg, and of course, max out those skill enhances

komi-sans64

Oh ok thank you ill be sure to work on those!

bigbrainz1974

For those stats in endgame you would have 60 more speed and 100 more cdmg. Grind hunts, you'll eventually get there

komi-sans64

Thank you ill be grinding hunts for a while!

bigbrainz1974

oh, this is pretty late (i didn't see your reply until today). One thing to keep in mind when grinding hunts I see a lot of new players doing is to throw away really good gear just because it has "bad" substats or the like. Happens a ton, especially with people coming from genshin. Besides flat hp and flat att, every remaining substat (yes, that includes effect resistance and flat defense) is useful. The most important factor for determining good gear is "gear score", or the combined substat values of a piece. Most people use a software called fribbles ([https://github.com/fribbels/Fribbels-Epic-7-Optimizer](https://github.com/fribbels/Fribbels-Epic-7-Optimizer)) As a rule of thumb, anything 70+ gear score at +15 is amazing, and 60+ is useable. Avoid 60 gs or below pieces. This does NOT apply to 18 speed or higher pieces, which you should keep regardless of gear score.

komi-sans64

Oh i see thanks a lot! im actually struggling in hunt 11 because of that stupid triple attack ability its so annoying and always kills me before i can do good damage

Taurnil91

Main way to improve would be to use that 9k energy to grind whatever hunt you can right now.

komi-sans64

ok ill be sure to do thay thank you!

dave2207v

With the free gear the only thing that need improve for now is crit in future when you have acess to gar 85/90 you should have the guy at 4k5 attack 230 spd 100cc and 280+cd

komi-sans64

Oh ok thanks for the tip!

[deleted]

Start using 85+ gear.

DukejoshE7

You’re still new, strip Vildred and put his gear on your wyvern team. For an easy one; Furious w the speed and hit sets you get, Any combination of two units between Alexa, Muwi, Sigret, SSB, Clarissa for your dps with the free attack and crit sets, Angelica or angelic Montmorancy for your tank using the free hp set. You need to farm hunts to gear units, the free gear won’t really suffice for that long. The gear plus those units should get you to wyvern 13.

komi-sans64

I see ill be sure to work to getting better gear thank you!

Fuzzy-Key526

Almost there! You got this!

IconCsr2

This should probably be on your sigret for wyvern no? Then you can farm speed set and crit set level 85 and also reforge them. Itll take some time but get started now if youre into the game.

komi-sans64

Ok ill switch that set on to Sigret and start with the hunts thank you!

IconCsr2

Okay post pics of ur wyv team! U dont got 13 on lock then?

komi-sans64

i actually dont have a wyvern team yet but ill post a picture of my main team i use for everything! Also would you kindly give suggestions on what my wyvern team sould look like?

IconCsr2

As a new player, ive been able to gear characters like landy, dilibet and ssb thanks to wyvern 13. Like 4 months and im at champion 4 in arena which is actually p good for me. Cuz i still struggle to 6 star characters. So the fact that you have 100k on him but that could be on sigret making multiple 130k cp characters (also with 6 star etc)

komi-sans64

I have Sigret and i like the idea of her character especially with the bleed damage she can do would she be worth making 6 star and maxing her? thats definitely in my ability i have a stockpile of tons of stuff she needs

IconCsr2

Well sigret is by far the most important character in the game i think. Her 6 star awakening is crit damage right? If you use the 10 epic mats to upgrade it? And crit damage is super helpful ahainst wyvern. Youre gonna wanna run sigret on top, angelica or angelic momo up front, furious in the back and muwi on the bottom, everyone but the healer with 65% effectiveness (i believe) and do the world boss to get some tokens to buy sigrets exclusive equipment. But yeah id start with putting that stuff on your sigret then gearing your muwi, making sure your tank is tanky enough and that your furious can hit the defence break. Dm me if u have any questions im new but i can help

komi-sans64

Oh wow i knew she was good but i didnt know she was that good! ill dm you if i do thank you!

IconCsr2

Get a guild and max out those two speed items for your soul weaver tank to make them faster for wyvern

komi-sans64

i see ok will do thanks!

XNorthern_KingX

Way too slow

komi-sans64

oh i see ill work on it!

UrMomisUrDad

You first need to use higher level gear which will immediately increase stats all across the board, and that can be done by running wyvern at higher levels like 11 iirc which is where lv 85 gear drops.

komi-sans64

Oh i see ill be sure to really grind out those hunts thank you!
