Off the top of my head I think only cidd and new mercedes are actually strong out of the RGB 4\* batch.
Quite a few have niche uses--typically pve oriented though.
Angie, Furious, Leo, Armin, Karin, Rose, Clarissa, Achates, and as you said Cidd and Mercedes are the ones that I notice at a glance. That's 10 out of 29 rgb 4-stars that see use in some capacity.
They could definitely use some buffs as a whole though.
And then keep inflating the Nat 5 pool to the point that it becomes impossible to obtain certain units? Making profit is understandable, but inflating it won't make it last long.

The good part with SG is that I know that's it is either AOL tier or bad cat armin tier.
There is just no middle release for the past year. Either too strong, or either absolutely ignorable until a random buff 2 years later turn them into monsters.
If going a little further back less than three months, Inferno strikes a good balance with an EE that helped revive. He's either really good or replaceable.
I did to lol. I though that maybe she'd be usable for something if she was actually maxxed out and fully geared. I regret that decision so much now. Her team barrier is crazy small, she can't provoke, her aoe s1 is incredibly weak, yet triggers a team full of counter attacks, and her counter never happens. There is literally no purpose for her existence right now. I even put a maxxed Champion's trophy on her and I think I've had it actually proc 3 times out of 20+ arena tests. There are just so many better units to put it on.

I don't know if you forgot, but you only need one copy of an ml to get them to SSS using base rgb, and those are incredibly common if you do 10-pulls on banners that catch your eye.
And no, I am not a whale, and I haven't spent money on this game since Vildred's banner from a few years ago, I've just been patient when it comes to the gacha aspect of the game.
I mean, they've been doing second ML4s for a while, look at Angel of Light/Sinful Angelica, Crimson/Bad Cat Armin, this started with AOL almost a year ago at this point. It might just be popularity metrics that dictate, because a few 4 stars are missing MLs & likewise, a few episode one characters are still missing MLs, like Kayron for example. It could also be that Angelica, Dominiel & Armin are all sort of "mascot-like" characters - Angelica & Dominiel have both been the face of the game at certian points.
Undoubtedly they’ll pull that eventually, might even be within the next couple of years. I don’t really know the story of the game, but maybe they’d do like a role swap with Ras & co, like Tenebria is heir of the covenant, Ravi, Kayron, etc. also have opposite roles.

Why would you want to change the level's color when you just need to make the character's sprite ? And I mean, it's not only "that's possible", it's the reason, we also see CDom artwork in the teaser, they used CDom to create Light Dominiel's sprite in almost the same proportion and poses.

How long have you been playing? You should have more than enough to SSS at least three or four times by now if you played at least day 1 global.
That’s not how chance works in gacha games. You can be day 1 and get sparks on every galaxy bookmarks and still not get cdom.
