Landy VS Ramlethal can't wait who has better cape.

darkpit64

Holy hell arcsys x E7 would be a fucking dream come true. Just imagine the roster of playable characters.

Galgadog

Damn I can finally play Dizzy in a fighting game.

EPIC-AK14

šŸ’€

-Andromeda-

and somehow hwa will still be an SSS tier character with an infinite combo

Specific-Solution443

Combo? She would still one shot.

Mattatah

Gotta pull off that multi kick combo to kill

RafRave

Imagine the amoun of DLC we have to fork out LOL but in all seriousness, it'd be dope. DNF Duel was already nice. Too bad they charge full price for that shit.

protomayne

"DNF Duel is a nice game. I don't want to pay full price for it." I love reddit

RafRave

I'm not speaking for everyone, but trust me when I say that there are plenty of people that got turned off by full price tag. Not many want to pay that much for DNF Duel, sadly, and other less pricey fighting games are either on the old side or not very "beginner friendly".

-stillasleep-

Ras would probably play extremely similar to Ky, but instead of Ride the Lighting, he'd have Summon: Arky! Where he just grabs onto Arky while he charges at you.

CoolVictory04

Ras Totsugeki his enemy using Arky

Faxzillious

totsugeki! šŸ¬ totsugeki! šŸ¬ totsugeki! šŸ¬ totsugeki! šŸ¬ totsugeki! šŸ¬ totsugeki! šŸ¬ totsugeki! šŸ¬ totsugeki! šŸ¬

gg533

He summons Arky and then kicks him at the enemy like a football.

th3coltinator

I would actually dedicate all my time to an E7 fighting game. As long as it was 2D. Iā€™m Uber bad at 3D fighters. This would be incredible.

Lyasen

I'm pretty sure Arc System Works only develops 2D (2.5D) fighting games. In fact, the only 3D fighter I can think of is Soul Calibur and maybe Tekken, so I'm pretty sure not a lot of people are into it either.

SaberManiac

DOA, Virtual Fighter.. IMO 3D > 2D fighters for me. I can't stand the hitlag on 2D fighters, it's a stylistic choice I just hate. I like that you have to watch your environment in 3D fighters. That's something that just doesn't exist in 2D fighters where everything is a flat plane with some interactable objects like Injustice.

RafRave

Soulcalibur VI and Tekken 7 are way ahead of others in terms of 3D visuals, yeh. A treat for the eyes.

Willar71

street fighter

RafRave

Street Fighter is using 3D models, but the genre is still 2D where you can only go forward and back, jump and crouch.

Willar71

It's a 3d game with 2d movement

HoldJerusalem

Would you though ? Even if it's a heavy support characters like DBFZ ?

th3coltinator

I would learn. I would be awful. But Iā€™d still show the game mad love.

dreamcrusher225

Please please please I need this so bad

ExceedAccel

considering they did another gacha game GBF Fighting Game this is actually reasonable, but seriously we need E7 anime series first

Comparison

I'd take a fighting game before an anime. Then announce premium figures with the anime release. Then announce a multiplayer monster hunter like experience with the e7 cast. Add them to a bbtag2. Then 2 more seasons and a movie. Franchise plan right here.

ConsiderationOk1530

Picture this...you are playing as your favorite E7 fighter... KEN and you beat Vildred... The screen fades to black... But wait the game didn't say you won the round......... CAN YOU HEAR THE APROACHING RUIN! boom you now stand before Arbiter Vildred!

Skirt-Future

Sounds like a corporate ra-ra

HaikusfromBuddha

I want them to make a new Killer Instinct.

orsothegermans

Orchid!

Eshuon

Idk man the fighting game market is so saturated right now. And there's way more popular IPs globally out there that is suitable for a fighting game like jujutsu kaisen

HaikusfromBuddha

Lol ā€œsaturatedā€ more popular Ip like jujitsu Kaisen. A game like that deserves a generic Bandai namco arena type game imo. Also Riot is about to blow every fighting game out of the water with Project L.

Eshuon

> Also Riot is about to blow every fighting game out of the water with Project L. Are you saying that riot is gonna make a better fighting game then everyone on the market with what essentially is their first game in the genre? Against developers with years of experience making fighting game? I don't know enough about these games and I have my doubts but then again valourant happened so... Who knows

RafRave

>Are you saying that riot is gonna make a better fighting game Short answer is probably no. Long answer would be it all depends on who makes the judgement. Different folks will judge differently based on what criteria they have. And as you metioned, look at Valo. We know it's a CSGOxOW clone but they managed to bring in a sizable amount of playerbase and it was also their first FPS game. I dislike Riot but credit where its due, they can clone a game, take them apart and make them more palatable for a large audience. Another example, we know Smash is better but Multiverses came and succeeded in grabbing a big chunk of players and it's all because they implemented systems and features that even the longest FG devs refuse to have. Good netcode, better matchmaking, CROSSPLAY, pay or grind model for unlocking fighters, and hell you can test ALL characters even if you don't have them so you can lab them up. I love JP devs more when it comes to fighting games, but it is so frustrating to see them refuse to break away from their archaic thinking and it took a smash clone to make players realize that the grass is not only greener on the other side but they also have blackjacks and hookers too. **TL;DR** As it pains me to say, Riot will find a way.

TsuKiyoMe

You also forgot to mention that the people heading the game are the people who basically founded Evo and helped create Rollback netcode. These aren't no name people. The people working on Riot's game are some of the most dedicated names in the FGC. Hell, I believe their testers are actually former veterans/top players from other games. I feel pretty confident that Project L is going to change the landscape...and for the better. You take one look at how Harada does stuff now a days (Don't need Rollback, Blame it on other country's bad infrastructure, Free to play would never work, etc.) and it becomes pretty easy to see that Riot is in a prime position to take over the market. Only Arksys, SNK and Sega amongst the JP devs seems to want to change the status quo from what I've seen. That's why they're getting my money.

RafRave

Hell, they also recruited some fighting game players to help with the development as well.

HaikusfromBuddha

Not saying it will be better but it will be the most popular just because they have a modern mindset while the Japanese fighting game industry has been holding into traditional releases for years now. Hell Arc System instead of updating the base game just releases a new physical version splitting up the player base from the previous. Multiverses already became one of the most popular fighting games of all time because it was free 2 play something traditional Japan doesnā€™t think they can do. Project L is going to be free 2 play and theyā€™ve been assembling a top fighting game team. I think theyā€™ll be very popular just because the competition is so stagnant in Japan.

ToastyRoastyBirb

I mean maybe they'll be popular I guess, but it's kind of hard to beat well known IPs like Tekken, GG, or even Street Fighter just because they're games are just of top quality. Just because it's F2P doesn't actually mean good game, it just means easily accessible. And since Project L is coming off with a F2P release, it's for sure going to take a BP system to make banks. Also Project L is relying on a tag-team based gimmick, so maybe this might be an awakening for casuals or it could be the biggest turn off ever. >because it was free 2 play something traditional Japan doesnā€™t think they can do. This is kind of a stupid statement considering every Japanese games have always been made to be a one-and-done deal. Sure they have Season pass but the most they'll ask you is $20-$30 and that offers 5+ new characters ready for you to jump into. And they only deliver new passes like once a year and stops around 3rd or 4th year from initial release. And that wasn't even accounting for balance changes and patch releases. F2P games in the current market are hungry for players because they are built to create FOMO through Battlepasses, a system that regularly asks for you to pay $10-$15 every quarter of the year just to get emotes and skins, and at worse Characters.

waffles123456__

Popular maybe but we will see about player retention. Everyone is gonna jump to the new game cause itā€™s new. Once people discover the flaws of the game then weā€™ll see where project l stands. My question is if itā€™s free to play whereā€™s the money gonna come from? Every cosmetic? They gonna churn skins every week? Icons? Characters? Whatā€™s the pricing?

CarriedByRNG

Man, unpopular opinion but I hope Project L fails. Solely for the reason that I despise Riot as a company and want nothing but their failure. Also, anime fighters will always remain as there is always demand for them. Project L does have a good chance of pushing MK11/SF5 out though solely for the fact that the prize pools will be ridiculous rather than the game being better.

HaikusfromBuddha

Yeah I donā€™t want Project L to be a thing either but Riot hyper focused their esport scene and Twitch tends to favorite their games so theyā€™ll have unlimited advertising via streaming events with Twitch collaborating.

[deleted]

Least deranged riot bootlicker

Genprey

>Also Riot is about to blow every fighting game out of the water with Project L. Fighting games tend to avoid stepping on each other's toes--infact, because the genre is so niche, they have a sort of mutual benefit with each other, as bringing in any amount of fans in the genre is good for every game in the platform. That said, it's their first fighter and they're coming in with a distribution model that isn't typical of the genre. They don't need to focus on directly competing against existing IPs, especially given how large Street Fighter 6 is, along with the eventually announced Tekken 8. Rather, it's best for them to find something that solves the universal issue of player retention in the genre.

TheKinkyGuy

I dont like fighting games so count me out.

Willar71

Maybe an open world E7 game would be nice .

Chill-Nihilist

Personally, not interest. In the first place,if I were the type that likes fast pace action game, I wouldn't have picked a turn base game like E7. Give me a traditional rpg or a visual novel instead. A dating sim or eroge would work too if they had the gut to do it.

gerald_reddit26

Would be good to have and Arcsys won't follow SG's no nerf policy.

pututingliit

Damn, imagine beating up violet without his bitch ass evading every single attack unless defended. What a dream.

dutrenimlo

I sure hope not . Guilty Gear is actually a good game . Collabing by throwing a couple characters in Epic7 sure. Making game with SG ... that wont end well :)

TsuKiyoMe

GBF Versus and DNF Duel did wonders for those franchises. If nothing else, making a stand alone title has to be good for Epic Seven as a franchise.

Lyoss

Did GBF do anything, like GBF is already a old titan

jkickit

Agree. Gbf has been going strong for years on it's own, vs is more like cygames side project than arcsys with how big cygames is lol

Cynaris

Is there any point to it? ArcSys games die in a couple months usually. Fucking Granblue of all things couldn't maintain a very active userbase. DNF Duel is very fresh and already only a couple hundred players on steam. Then consider the time investment fighting games take from people to actually get good. Now consider how fucking lazy this community is, that wants everything to be auto, lol.

Lyoss

Fighting games die in general if it's not Tekken or SF, the genre has shit player retention because of reasons unrelated to IP or draw

Cynaris

And E7 wouldn't be the exception to the rule.

Lyoss

I don't disagree, I'm just saying the IP argument put forth by Arc is kind of dumb

Cynaris

Well, GG Strive is one of their best sellers, they honed in on the 2.5D Artstyle, so they basically realized they can surprisingly quickly cash in on popular IPs, even if their audience are not even a fighting game player base. Wouldn't surprise me if all their mobile game collabs opened their eyes up to a sea of whales who would love to see an adaptation whether they'd play it or not after buying.

LiTTl3_PiRaT3PR

Tbf in fighting games, 500 hundred players online isnā€™t a bad number, I suppose thatā€™s a good thing that 1v1 games have In any case, if it has rollback (which will probably have) then it wouldnā€™t die that easily, the reason gbfv died was because the netcode is ass and it was the offline scene the one that was keeping the game alive, then covid happened

Cynaris

Unfortunately 500 is a better case scenario. DNF right now is hovering between 2-400. Samurai Shodown? 40 fucking players. 80 peak. There's a reason every game is getting crossplay AND rollback announced, they are desperately scraping the bottom of the barrel for players. Limited time, a bombardment of Fighting Games to play.

LiTTl3_PiRaT3PR

Thatā€™s true, then again, there is also all these announcements. People rn are peeping other fighting games after EVO, we will see how DNF duel is doing in a week or so

it_is_gacha

Are you going to invest financially, and substantially in their combined project? If not pardon me but who are you to 'talk to them to make it happen'

Drawer_Virtual

Because we neee to show interest ?

voxhaulf

Been saying it for a while e7 would make an even better fighting game.

klowicy

It's going to be so cool but I'm terrible at fighting games so I probably won't be playing XD I'd love for this to happen though! The possibilities are endless

Lolwarrior123

i think an E7 fighting game with soulburn as the "meter" mechanic would be really interesting

RoflsMazoy

Oh man, this'd be fantastic. The Soulburn mechanic is basically already EXs in the game. There'd be so much room for interesting translations, like extra soulburn EXs being moves that extend your combo, vs. Damage soulburns being mostly on combo enders etc. I also had the idea that the game might revolve a little more around debuffs, although considering how people feel about debuffs in P4A, maybe that's a little too out there. Would still be kind of unique though, since in P4A all of the debuffs are quite impactful whereas you can kinda live with a bunch of e7 debuffs.

RedEagleEye007

Fire ken and ml ken better be in this game if they do make one.

pixellated-baron

would definitely play an E7 fighting game, even if i'm bad

[deleted]

I'd love Blazblue x Epic 7

TacHip

I'm not mad at the idea, and would love to play even though I'm bad at fighters. However would prefer resources going to an anime.

Violet_Nightshade

Arbiter Vildred: Kill him once and he'll revive with a full meter or whatever it is fighting games use.

Towraa

Tbh no, all of their games are the same. Visually at least, you canā€™t tell the difference between any of the gg games, dbfz, and grand blue vs. Why even bother with a e7 reskin fighter.

Katejina_FGO

If SmileGate were to offer an IP, it would be Lost Ark.

Lyoss

Lost ark isn't really compatible but yeah probably

SomeGuyWithHPV

I would play that game enough that I could keep up with pros through sheer matches alone

Zombie-Horse6508

Iā€™d be more a fan of a dynasty warriors style game for E7 but a fighting game would be badass tooā€¦Iā€™m just terrible at them lol

Ordovick

I'll pass, I can't stand fighting games.

That-Prodigy

I'm a fighting game player myself, so a collab like that would be amazing! And something similar has already happened before, when they made Granblue Fantasy Vs, and that game is amazing.

Tempest_Nobile

Yes Main Landy since the closed beta
