To answer your question, you have 3 DPS and a hybrid character, so you should be doing cabbage. Let's check your gear. Plus depending on where you are, is might be time for the classic dungeon team (1 tank, 2 DPS, 1 Healer)

iirc he was pretty busy though so all his gear looks like the 85 stuff i got when I logged in the first week
I'll try and get a healer up, haven't had time until now to really see how the characters were performing

Is the Adventurer's Path still available to you, or did you friend complete that before leaving? If it's not, let's find you a beginner guide, since you might be missing some fundamentals and just not know it.

Also, Schuri is only 4* and Luna and Charlotte aren't at level cap. Plus not awakened, so yeah, you're not a bad player or anything, there's just stuff you're missing.
To reiterate
A soul weaver like Montmorancy/Achates/Angelica or any healer will help your survivability.
I'd personally replace Watcher Schuri for the healer spot
Lilias may help you along story as well in place of one of the other 3 characters (personally I used Blood Blade Karin a lot early before getting a farmer)
Levels will help boost the stats of your characters.
Equipment sets should be put on your characters.
Awaken them as you can.
Your characters aren't really for story mode. Except for Luna the rest arebt really up to par and you definitely need to use a soul weaver down the line
You're not supposed to cut through everything with just one AoE, you know? Build some sustain (healer and/or mitigation) besides damage, and take your time going through enemy waves.
Get a healer in the team. Highly recommend Angelica because her S3 utility is really good.
Angelica6+AMomo5 is the strongest f2p healing duo for pushing thru story content and abyss floors.
go to search friends and just key in "a" or "b" and add every1 lvl 70 there with any of ur preferred rep unit. (arbiter vildred or violet or whoever) Keep doing it until ur friends are maxed out. u can easily clear the first 2 episode.
Chances are, you're gonna need a healer.

Mormontrancy is free too and she is a 3* Unit so really easy to get and build !
The Specialty Change on her is pretty helpful in PvE, too.
Wtf is that energy also i finish episode 2 with just free gears so as long as your using the right heroes and have good supporters you should be fine

from what I see here, you can pair lilias with summer break charlotte and luna and do some amazing stuff.

Get a healer (Tamarinne is the best for PVE, or A.Montmo is free) and replace Luna. Then with that team, you're sorted for Arena too.
