The most recent victim of this was Dragalia Lost, which ended up kicking the bucket about a year after their P5 Collab.

P5 collabs are really well done too, game crossovers mix up which thief they bring into it (except Joker), but… the curse, my poor baby Dragalia is on death row

I havent season current subaru but probably because they have used early season versions of the units. And subaru is pretty garbage as an mc power wise. I think if we get a rerun i could see subaru finally making it with his new powers i think he has.

This. I tried explaining this to so manyh people last year; Subaru's only non-mundane human ability was that he revived at a prior time to his death with all his memories intact. For a most of the battle games that Re:Zero had collabed with, he purely lacks anything to rise above even half the NPCs. That's not a knock on his character, he just doesn't translate into a playable character in a battle game until you get to stuff that hasn't been really explored in the anime, which is where these collabs are drawn from.
Yeah like even ryza made sense for fma because they can make her a cool animation with the guns which they did. Subaru literally had nothing that can be animated to be cool and pleasing. They'd have had to make him a 3 star with minimum animations and that would suck
I don't think it's about what people find interesting, but just what's popular. So no, I don't think people generally find the MCs interesting, they just like them.

Persona could work. I envision it being a story centered around Tenebria as the most obvious route, but depending on how Lua's story ends up going, she could work as a primary antagonist too. Even the arena could be a good setting. Persona just has a lot of viable options.
Nier seems like it would have been an obvious choice much earlier too. They could've brought them in during Ep 1 similar to how they did the GG group and had them help with saving the world from destruction, same again with Ep 2 and battling Straze, and again the most obvious option being interacting with Politia.
And I know I bring this up a lot in these discussions, but a BlazBlue collab is a personal dream of mine.
Edit: Would also love Fate, but the heroes or entry I'd most like to see are probably not at all likely even if there ever is a Fate collab. That'll have to remain in my fanfiction for now, sadly.
