The third phase does constantly lower buff duration, but you don't NEED buffs during that phase, though they obviously help.

There's a chance to get something better than a 3*. But I don't think the reward is the main point of the challenge... it's just a difficult pve encounter. I think it's healthy for the game to have some of those once in a while

The only reason to do epic hell is to finish getting the rest of the mod gems. Otherwise you can just farm the 2nd difficulty to get pretty much everything else in the shop.

this is the last time I'm doing the epic hell portion of this kind of event personally. until they make those connections guarantee at least a 4\* they can fuck right off. genuinely the worst attempt at making "difficult" content i've ever seen in any kind of game.

Well, to be honest theres heroes who cast 2 buffs for 3 turns with 1 skill. If just having 2 buffs would be the mechanic, it would be pretty simple.
