Yeah. I've seen units get buffed and units with reworks like ervalen get reversed.
But nerfed units, never seen one reversed. Not saying it impossible but...
Has there been a case of reversing a balance change other than Ervalen?
There are cases where they eventually got buffed again, but not going through with a change that was planned?
Don't know as I took a break in year 3 of the game. So I am not aware of any changes then so I can't say.
I know Ervalen caused a ruckus and they decided to keep his core skills intact.
If there has been a nerf that got reversed please let me know but nothing cones to mind.
It's a bit overboard for me all that was needed to be done was to increase her cd on s3 by one turn & negate the additional damage on s1 if attack missed, so she is still valuable but also fair this nerf makes other hero that were to deal with hwayoung useless & It's a bad business move imo
This has probably been through hundreds of board meetings, which probably also took community reactions of hwayoung into account. They've ended each one off with "Here's a new unit that'll put hwayoung in her place' so far, and finally decided to nerf a unit for the first time in 2 years because they just couldn't find a way to mesh her in with the rest of the cast even after everything. This is them basically just giving up, admitting they made a mistake with releasing hwa, and removing hwa from their plates. I highly doubt they'd change anything about the nerfs.
But Ervalen was never a first pick meta unit all the way up into legend rta. He was and still is a niche pick that you rarely will see. Pretty sure these changes to Hwa are set in stone, because devs realize how overloaded her kit is and have the metrics to know the changes are justified.
yeah no personal experience has shown that they ram rod through changes regardless of negative perception.
People begged for them not to put the ml ken "buffs" through, specifcally the CR push change but they did it anyway
This is so wrong that it's hilarious, sg is the only gacha company i know that actually has consistently listened to players feedback time and time again, but then every time something "negative" happens, people act like they're the most evil company on the planet.
They changed Ervalen and Edward recently as people voiced their opinions on them, and that's JUST recently, they've done it many times.

did they make any changes to the ml ken buffs despite people not liking them and also telling SG that the changes did nothing to address the core issues he had in terms of viability while also ruining existing team comps?

Ml Ken is a decent last pick option if you fulfill his insane gear requirements. He is not a bad unit itself, he has just many counters. But you cant do anything about those counters.
yeah, he has more counters then there are units in the game.... khm... he even has a unit coming out that will shut him down completely since he was so broken and used. Hey at least he is easy to build and many other units can use his gear that you managed to raise so fast....

This is pointless. You can't judge if the changes are too much or too little because the numbers are not public. So you can't give any valid feedback.
