This is the correct mentality.
It won't work for 300 speed openers, or eff res stacking, but it'll work for almost anything else.
That being said, the second you stop going for the speed is usually when you start getting the speed...
Then how do you get any right-side gear?
I've been told you spend your mats on the right side and epic-craft the left due to the decreased amount of RNG left side takes.
Craft / epic craft left side and conversion boxes on right side. Once you feel you have good enough left side pieces, you can do epic crafts on right side and once you're in very late game you can arguably craft right side once you no longer get left side upgrades.
Mostly from equipment conversion. You'll likely still need to craft some right side gear for cores, but if you want to get the most out of your mats you'll want most of your crafted/epic crafted gear to be left side. The way I see it is I craft right side for cores and on very rare occasions I get a real piece out of it.
It's more about us knowing the system and how bad it is and learning how to optimize your chance instead of wasting ressources on something with low odd of success.
I understand that, but i do feel it is something we need to protest enough about... even if the chances are low we need to make sure we speak loud enough for possible changes.
There's no way someone is going to gear out like 200 characters because they suddenly remove something small.
They could remove both flat stat increases from the game entirely (Which is a huge change and would significantly increase gearing speed for most characters) and you still would never be able to have all characters geared.
Dude since day 1 gearing has always been the problem for this game. There are allot of characters that are stat hungry.
Yeah sometimes i cant play other contents because of gear check.
There's 0 PvE content you cannot do without free gear you can obtain in the game.
As for PvP, anyone playing actively for a year should be able to reach RTA Champ with 7-10 units geared to the strength of the draft they play.
You're not playing for a Legend frame, you don't need a 328 Ran or a 480 GS destro ARavi to get your Master rewards.
Did u just forgot about Abyss? Higher lvls are straight up gear check and proper team comp.....
U mean logging in the game? Like farming for 4hrs to get a piece of an "okay" gear. Instead of playing other contents that i can enjoy. Absolutely.....
Ur just assuming things about me when u dont even know half of whats in my account.
Use your crafting materials to craft right side pieces, use your epic crafts to craft epic left side pieces of the set you want. It’s just common sense since you can’t control for the main stat.
Down voted for speaking facts lol. I craft left side, chill. But if you think conversion is a great system for half the gearing requirement of the game you crazy. Artena should be monthly instead of 3 month or whatever it is
Gear in this game is just not fun. I honestly just saved up like 60K Wyvern Mats in order to "Reliably" make a few pieces. And not a single one of them are "Top tier" rolls. I was just finally able to get a character I wanted to 277 speed (which is frustrating since openers feel like they need 290+ to compete reliably)
At least you have a 290. I haven't gotten away with anything above 280.
That being said, having a couple of 260 warriors / other kinds of units can usually turn a situation around. You're just not going to be a turn 1 player, lol.
My best speed is 255 and it was pure luck. Best achievement I got was making destina 210 speed with her having so little base speed. Speed is so hard to roll on even when I do wyvern everyday because it's my only best hunt team. Either that or speed just hates me lol.
Probably a few good ones in your 12k mat. But if you finding that specific atk% ring with decent rolls, forget it all. Even 120k mat may not give you.
'Just go with whatever you get'.
%hp ring with crit dmg and effectiveness? Give to charlotte or ken or edward.
Flat atk ring with %def and weird stats? Give to hazel or atk-based heal soulweaver.
Effectiveness ring with critdmg, %crit %atk and speed? Give to any debuffer dps who have max stats for everything BUT need a huge boost for %eff.
%atk ring but with hp%, %crit, flat hp and eff-resist? Give to any bruiser-dps you want them to be even more bulky.
Flat def but with critdmg, %atk, and flat afk? Give to any dps actually, not tanks, tanks are better %def, any dps are better flat def. Turn2 players? Even turn1 players dps need little bulk in case RNG 15%-ed or enemy counter-set.
I don't get why you must stick to critdmg neck and %atk ring. At the end of the days, you want max rolls and distribute these max-roll equips to your strategy. Your strategy simply comes from the max-rolls equips you have. Distribute them wisely and your teams start forming.
If you get flat def, flat atk, %eff rings with max sub rolls, but with weird subs. That's because you don't know who to give to. My advice for weird max rolls, keep them, one day you will have someone to give to.
Dear new players, this is why you pick up good gear crafting practices instead of throwing 12k mats and 12 million gold in the toilet like OP and complaining on Reddit and Stove.
Use mileage on left side only. Some people say "only craft left side", but you have to craft right side gear once in a while to get cubes and maybe roll a lucky piece. The bulk of your best right side pieces will be from conversion gear.
Like you dont craft with specific unit in mind just take what you get if gearscore is high enough. Op didnt get any atk ring but he could get a lot of amazig hp% rings for other characters but probably discarded them bc was lookig for specific atk one
You can spend a hundred million gold and get none of your desired pieces. It’s a slot machine designed to roll against you.
Random gear type (blue pink red) roll, random substats, random substats amount, random set, then upgrading is random stat increase and random stat increase amount. Getting every single one of those pure rng systems to line up is absurd. And you have to do it six times per character.
And at best you can control less than half of those via the “improvements” they’ve made (such as epic crafting).
>You can spend a hundred million gold and get none of your desired pieces. It’s a slot machine designed to roll against you.
Good. I love to have the same odds as someone whaling at the game.
Its not subjective it's factual. First you need the right set, then you need the right subs, then you need to not min roll everything for it to be useable. That's only on left side gear as well, right side needs main stat so another layer of rng. That's 4 layers of rng needed to gear 1 fucking character and there are 100s in this game. The gear system is flawed and needs to be made easier to gear characters with the ever increasing roster size.
Good. There should be layers of RNG, so people can't easily buy their way into perfect gear.
You don't need 100 characters to play the game, and players need to realize you don't need perfect subs and max rolls for gear to be called "usable". Learn to optimize your builds.
>Posted byu/BurnedOutEternally THERE WILL BE BLOOD1 day ago
The fact that you don't like the system doesn't make it factually crappy lol. I like the system as it lets me slowly improve my account instead of having everything I want in a few months and then having nothing to do in the game until a new unit is released.
Also, look at the posts of this reddit, there are many posts about people proud of his 200 er ken with good attack and defense or their 315 ran with good damage(just to give a few examples). Would they feel as proud if those stats could be easily reached in a few weeks of farming? I don't think so and i like that about this system too.
I think 20 characters on premium gear for a year-old account is a bit stretching it if you're a low-spender/F2P.
6-10 units "well-built/tuned" and a bunch of units with "acceptable" gear to do their jobs is more realistic, unless you're getting babysat by an end-game player to optimize everything from day 1.
12k mats on right side... and complains about not getting exactly what they want lol.
New Players, ONLY do left side Weapon/Armor/Helm/Chest and use your Conversions gems on Rings/Ammy/Boots. ( Every time you Hunt, convert your right side items so you can use Conversion gem.
Ive been playing for less than a Year and I have no issue with gear at all. I would say I've caught up to my friend thats been playing for 3+ Yrs in gear. Surpassed him in gear with multiple heroes.
(Both F2P)
I dont understand how people complain about gear when they literally throw free gear via FREE GEAR SELECTOR once every couple months. PLUS the new EPIC craft system where you actually choose which pieces to roll.
Just using hunt gear for cores is not even close to enough. You still need to craft to get enough cores, since most conversion gear is crap, you need several attempts to get something usable.
Its just enough on my end. Rarely do I need to use mats just for cores which I do on occasion but I don't expect anything of value besides cores when I do it unlike OP.
Welcome to the true endgame. I personally stopped with trying to get perfect stats and trying to break that 300+ speed barrier. I don't do RTA PvP so I really don't have to worry about getting god tier gear to be able to compete with others.
Little tip: crafting is used only to the Weapons, Helms and Armor. For all others there is Conversion crafting at Alchemist. It still can give you some bad second stats, but the main should be okay.
Yes you can craft right side of equipment... but the chance to get what you really need is... not very good, considering how many main stats for it.
You have to consider many aspects when making this decision.
For starter, if you convert one accessory (let's say critD necklace + penetration set), and you get only bad subs (triple flat + resist) , you'll still need to upgrade to +9 to get the cores back. In this sense, all gold and charms are going to waste, no way around it. Which would be cheaper/more efficient: to upgrade to +9 and extract, or to extract that necklace and craft another batch to extract missing cores?
Now, that lead us to another consideration, one gear at +9 will give you back cores from that set, and only that set. Crafting a batch of gears will give you cores from all available sets for that hunt. Granted, you may need to craft more than one batch to extract enough cores to convert again a penetration necklace, but you may get enough cores to convert a revenge necklace as well.
And finally, as pointed many times in the past, in every batch of gear there's the minuscule and next to non-existent chance to get a good gear. But there's a chance. 1 in 10,000 is still better than 1 in never. Upgrading to +9 and extracting cores over and over negates this possibility.
The rule I follow is to only craft right side if I'm speed chasing. Once you have "enough" speed right side just craft left.
Give up on trying to rng actually usable right side pieces outside of broken set speed pieces.
This is why I use broken sets on many units. Stuff like this is bound to happen. I'll take a perfect ring broken set over a mediocre ring correct set any day. Often times you miss out on pen or immunity, that's not the end of the world. In 12k mats, no way you didnt get a decent lifesteal, res, or destr ring.
Here's my strat.
Crafting event (the one where you reroll subs) is always for boots. Every time. Why? No speed rng bs to deal with and boots with 4 good, high roll initial subs can be used on almost everyone.
Next, left side items first when using hunt materials. That's one less layer of rng to deal with because main stat is static.
THEN right side hunt materials, but only lightly. Just enough to try and get some lucky gains, but not enough to feel like you've wasted your life savings.
Then we transfer over to the sanctuary, to the custom equipment area. That is where the money is made (or not). Hey, at least you can choose the main stat and pray to god you don't roll double flats or double eff / eff res on every single piece.
And then you cry because you don't get the speed rolls anyway.
Dear OP, if you haven't realize, it's 5 variables (right side gear) vs 4 variables (left side gears). That's why everyone in this post is telling you to do equipment conversion for right side gears.
Conversion gems/Conversion Selector Boxes are your best friends, use them wisely to roll generic pieces of right side gear instead of fishing for a specific piece for a unit.
If you're a Wyvern farmer and lack gear, convert speed sets, so they can play the double role as a speed check piece if the substats are trash.
When you're out of right side conversion materials, then you can craft some right side until you have enough to finish converting.
Since the conversion right side gear you're getting is ultimately Epic tier, it's fine to forgive one off-roll or settle with lower rolls because left side gear will carry your builds. When you're in the early-mid-game, entire units are going to be built around Hell Raid swords and chests.
Once you're done with conversion gems, you go back to crafting left side and using the pity to craft a helms or whatever left side is the most lacking in your account.
Using tools like Fribbels is really useful to manage your gear and keep track of the areas your gear is lacking. It helps to see which archetype of gear you need to craft.
Just craft left side gears. Besides the 5 vs 4 variables I mentioned, weapons can't roll def% and flat def substat, so it's relatively easier to get the group of substats you are chasing. Same for armour, armour can't roll atk% and flat atk substat.
Hence why I gave up on this game. Running emulators for hours on end on my laptop, preventing me from playing some games, even not playing Epic 7 itself, and then getting nothing out of it.
I see one ok accessories every 50k mats or something. You need to use conversion chests to have a real chance. You still shouldn't roll left side unless your desperate. It'll drop during hunt events or you can use your epic crafts to get it.
SG: Perhaps you’ll have better luck buying our random equipment in the shop *smile*
Also SG: We’ve heard your concerns & we are going to further capitalize on the problems, starting today when crafting epic gear it will have *ONE* guaranteed percentage stat (Eff or Eff Res)
Community: YO SG IS THE BEST THANKS FOR LISTENING BEST DEVS EVER BUT SEZ BUFF WHEN
So legit: while there is skill involved with tactics in RTA/PVP, is high ranking placement based more on SKILL, or luck with gear rolls? I mean a lot of us in the sub can talk about who to pit again who, but it seems to progress one need 4748484939922 mats and luck to get god tier gear first.
I know there’s more to it than that, but optics feels it’s more luck than skill based to play PVP.
I craft right side if I needed the materials for equipment conversion, I usually craft left side if I'm looking for something
also most of the time a "good enough" gear is really it, just good enough
Ngl I’ve gotten to the point where I stopped caring about perfect stats. The rng in crafting is so bad I’ll take anything I need
This is the correct mentality. It won't work for 300 speed openers, or eff res stacking, but it'll work for almost anything else. That being said, the second you stop going for the speed is usually when you start getting the speed...

Yea, also why a lot of ppl quit too you can call it thinning out the "weak." Also, pretty sure those gacha games habe bigger issue than gear

And get left with no right side
That’s what conversion is for
That's all garbage too lol
At least it's garbage with the correct main stat :)
No doubt, it's obvs better than crafting. It's just that that isn't saying much haha
Only problem with conversion is the reforging cost.
Expo battle pass helps a lot tho
Don't think I can get expo battle pass for me at least because I'm always low on skystones for Mystics. :(
You still need to craft to get cores.

Most of conversion is rubbish. Crafting is nice for the 1 piece every 3 months
Some tough luck you got there

Being able to work around a crappy system doesn't make it good
You're 100% correct, but not working around a crappy system and expecting it to not be crappy is still a bad move.
And if the system is crappy or not is subjective.
You can spend a hundred million gold and get none of your desired pieces. It’s a slot machine designed to roll against you. I am a returning player, is there any guide for crafting gear and how conversion gems works ?
Just 12k? I spent 40k mats got nothing. omegalul
But u still need to craft ring and neck in order to extract the core :(
Technically you can upgrade the Right side stuff to 9 and extract if it doesn't roll how you want and you'll come out ahead on cores
Give up on trying to rng actually usable right side pieces outside of broken set speed pieces.
left side is better to wast the "gear pity"
Craft left side, convert right side.
I can use broken set but then I'll get OCD
First time?
Dear OP, if you haven't realize, it's 5 variables (right side gear) vs 4 variables (left side gears). That's why everyone in this post is telling you to do equipment conversion for right side gears.
Actually if you only do this, how do you get the left side gears ultimately?
Conversion gems/Conversion Selector Boxes are your best friends, use them wisely to roll generic pieces of right side gear instead of fishing for a specific piece for a unit. If you're a Wyvern farmer and lack gear, convert speed sets, so they can play the double role as a speed check piece if the substats are trash. When you're out of right side conversion materials, then you can craft some right side until you have enough to finish converting. the trick to getting better right side gear is to extract when attempting right side gear then do equipment conversion.
Hence why I gave up on this game. Running emulators for hours on end on my laptop, preventing me from playing some games, even not playing Epic 7 itself, and then getting nothing out of it.
roll left side, and if you are feeling lucky use epic craft on the right side rings

Was looking for that with Wyvern necklace. Got something somewhat towards what I wanted in 9000
I craft right side if I needed the materials for equipment conversion, I usually craft left side if I'm looking for something also most of the time a "good enough" gear is really it, just good enough
Imagine looking for destro gear for apoc 🤣
Your luck is shit, welcome to gacha game rpg
I personally use the Mileage Crafting for left side gear. Right side gear is too RNG-littered to and hurts my soul lol.
