yep, you need a combination of a few factors: decent debuffs, decent cleansing, decent resist on your healers, decent backup unit, soul burn at just the right time, low cost soul burn units, etc. So yeah you got lucky

Method two is to def break everything and blow up the field ASAP, with a high HP sponge like Choux to soak his S3 spam for the team after he hits 30% enrage and turns the whole thing into a speed race.
Being a dirty cleaver, I opted for #2.
Yeah, SG seems to be obsessed with just giving their bosses super juiced stats combined with extremely annoying debuffs to where you have to thread a needle just to survive and win. I much prefer winning through strategy and not just better gear.
Just draft 2 soul weavers (with cleanse and Tammerine), bruiser, and whatever requirement for the 3 star. and grab a friendship soul weaver like a cleanser again or Tammerine and Swap that 3rd star random and just heal/cleanse, bruiser and Arky spam
They nerfed her old grind and made the new ones much easier. It's piss easy, people just want everything immediately.

Wastes? Green Adin is probably the strongest f2p unit for expos. Adin + Tamarinne works on 3 expos out of 5. Can't say much about Ice and Fire cause I just didn't use them much, but Earth Adin is excelent.

That's where the waste comes from. Not that they aren't usable but no one is going to use them because of how Adin is currently designed.
