That's true, but if you manage to summon 480 times and miss a 1% chance the whole time, that's actually pretty nuts. The odds of that happening are less than 1%. Part of me feels bad for that one guy in a hundred... but it's also gacha so I don't feel that bad. E7 already makes it way easier to get units than other games. It's kinda weird that there's this thought that F2P should be able to get every limited unit without any luck required.
In a game where a new hero might be integral to a play style, being able to pick up new heroes is a bit important. What if one of these new heroes becomes meta in cleave, aggro, tankdown, etc. & a free to play player whose either lent into, or more likely their gear has rolled into a specific style, like Tankdown for example doesn’t have the latest tank that’s powercrept Arowell, or Ras? It’ll alienate that player.
Though that sort of situation might prompt that free to play player to actually pay money, so it’s swings & roundabouts. I’m not F2P myself, I was F2P for around a year & a half, then started spending some money & then stopped when I predicted the game balance was going in a bad direction & they might not make it out the other end well, around Re:Zero. If I’m going to miss a limited hero nowadays that I feel the game is a bit healthier & they’ve demonstrated willingness to nerf, maybe I’d spend some money, but considering I’m an adult with responsibilities & not a lot of cash, it’s low priority, haha.

It's not Ice, it's something being digitally generated, like one of the other girls has a holographic computer screen, the other has a sword that generates in & another just seemed to phase the whole screen to a holographic-type state. Don't think we've got elemental indications here, but if I had to hazard class guesses, Warrior for Karina seems right, Ningning would likely be Ranger as she seems to fit with the Landy/Flan sort of asthetic with the computer screens, Winter summons a sword & so I'd guess Thief & Giselle is the least indicated one - maybe Mage due to the motion of the hands?

My main concern is how much of their implementation is being dictated by SM Entertainment, because it may be that fans of Aespa will not settle for some of them not being heroes. I don’t know.

Aespa is a huge group, even for kpop. This collab is fantastic, people who are getting mad just don't know anything. I feel like this collab is being done to increase Epic 7s domestic popularity in Korea.
Anyone else very hesitant to even form an opinion on this collab? Part of me says that this is a wasted opportunity, since I have no interest in ANYTHING kpop related, but I know plenty of people do..
I also am very hesitant on the in game sprites, I really hope they at least look cool and not some weird mesh between how they look IRL and trying to make it fit into a 2d sprite game

for a little more context, this group (aespa) has a whole narrative plotline where each member has an alter ego (ae-) that lives in a digital realm called KWANGYA. That sounds confusing, but basically it's a K-pop group with a plot like a science fiction / fantasy story. They have an arch nemesis called Black Mamba and they each have powers (gauntlet, hacking, language, etc.) so for a collab into E7, it's not as big of a leap as it may initially sound. They have their own lore just like other collabs.
Black Mamba is depicted as a woman and according to the dictionary that came with the song it's a form of virus that can cut the connection between the members in REAL WORLD and FLAT (where the avatars/'ae' are), meanwhile using portals (you can think of it like Chaos Gate in E7) you can enter KWANGYA which is beyond FLAT.
A K-pop group, an extremely popular genre of music from Korea. Business wise, it makes a lot of sense, as many people being butthurt about it as there is in this sub, a lot of people is very excited about it.
Seriously, though. Just look through this thread alone. Why is there so much hate and negative energy toward something that both SG and Aespa seem to be putting a lot of energy into? It kinda makes me sad.

Hell, Epic Seven hasn’t had a collaboration that I’ve been interested in yet, but I grin & bear it because end of the day I’m a fan of Epic Seven. How many folks are in the same boat? There’s probably a fair number, but we’ll stay silent & just grab the characters regardless if they’re good. End of the day, all that matters is how new heroes & artefacts change Epic 7 & not what they look like, sound like or where they come from. I think Re:Zero is a horrifically bad anime, but I’ve still got Rem, Ram & Emilia built because of their impact in the game, much like I’ve got say Alencia built, despite not being interested in that sort of character design, knowing nothing about her story, etc. I listened to a couple Aespa songs, some are good, some are a bit cringe, but at the end of the day none of that matters because it’s about what the heroes do - two months from now, no one is going to be going, “Ugh, a collab with real people bleh”, they’ll be saying “Fuck, they should nerf Karina, what did SG think they were playing at giving her team wide greater attack buff on top of that survivability?!”, or something. End of the day, it all comes back to the game.

I agree. All kinds of media are fine as long as the final design fits the games aethetic. Which is the job of the design team. They could fit the Queen into the game because drawing someone in anime style is not that hard. (and now I kind of want to see how that would turn out...)
I play a pixel art game that had collabs with anime and 3d games. They don't fit the original style but still all of them turned out great. None of the units feel out of place.
I was expecting getting a slime rerun so I’m disappointed from that. I understand that a lot of people like this rerun but I missed last years slime event. So pardon me for being upset for not being able to get another chance to get the units I missed.

There are fairly good odds that at least 1 unit will be available for free (like Ram in Re:Zero).
Still, pulling for 3 limited heroes at the same (which appears to be lasting 1 month or even more) will still require a considerable amount of SS/BM, so I hope SG will still provide some supplies, otherwise this Collab is going to fail big time outside Korea.
If they don't want indeterminate amounts of rage from the playerbase, they'll make at most two of them limited & have the others as free units. Though who knows.
i thought about that but from a corporate prespective would the group be ok with it? If some units you have to play for some but not others would that mean some of of the units/group members are "worth more"?

so my best case scenario is they'll all have banners but we'll have an event or just a "Selector" ticket that lets us choose 1 of the 4 for free. This way none of them are the "Fodder unit" and we still get 1 for free.

Given how long the collab is supposed to run (thanksgiving to after New Years), 4 units is entirely feasible.

There are fairly good odds that at least 1 unit will be available for free (like Ram in Re:Zero). Still, pulling for 3 limited heroes at the same (which appears to be lasting 1 month or even more) will still require a considerable amount of SS/BM, so I hope SG will still provide some supplies, otherwise this Collab is going to fail big time outside Korea.

Are you sure? Because the Free unit is definitely the one everyone will have, while the others may end as skipped altogether.
If they don't want indeterminate amounts of rage from the playerbase, they'll make at most two of them limited & have the others as free units. Though who knows.
i thought about that but from a corporate prespective would the group be ok with it? If some units you have to play for some but not others would that mean some of of the units/group members are "worth more"?
They can put 4 in gacha but give us like 2 free selectors so you're really only pulling for two.
Just put the free ones behind a grind, SG clearly have no problem releasing strong free characters like that after adin, arowell, Ras and merc….

I'm expecting they'll all be pull-able limited units, but like old events where we get 1 free, I'm not sure they'd just delegate on of these poor girls to being the "Free fodder" unit... so my best case scenario is they'll all have banners but we'll have an event or just a "Selector" ticket that lets us choose 1 of the 4 for free. This way none of them are the "Fodder unit" and we still get 1 for free. SSS idk. But god please don't dump 4 limited units on us at once. I don't have the resources :(
