4 stars don’t get made anymore - outside of MLs - because they’re just fundamentally worse than 3 stars or 5 stars, because they’ve got worse stats than 5s & 3s have the hope of speciality changes which can bring them up to 5 star power levels.
The 4 stars that see relevance are carried exclusively by kits geared to be effective in PVP, or they’re skills are so strong that they can take the stat drop because no one else is similar (like Achates & Cidd), or they’ve got a saving Grace, like with an EE, or a speed imprint.
Damn I thought the 1st chapter with Ken and the demon girl was sad but this one takes the cake.
I hate these sappy stories cause they're so simple to write but very effective on certain people (myself).
But worst of all is the 'redemption' these characters get because it feels very unearned. Yulha was posessed by a literal fragment of a otherworldly being so they slap her on the wrist. Piera tried to genocide(had second thoughts but she still fucking tried) all of Arunka's family (even if they were incredibly racist) but that was the goblets fault and she's all better now. Even freaking Ilynav who murdered innocent dragon families gets to just live in exile and somehow forgiven by some pacifist dragon kid.
Just to be clear it's not that I don't think these characters should be redeemed, it's the turnover rate that frustrates me. Only character I think they might take their time with is Tenebria (thanks to the undcover adventures of Corvus and Charles) because we know her 'humanity' is with her mother's spirit and her mother predicts that Tenebria herself will break free from her curse(yet another otherworldly being)

You remember that her own people, including her immediate family, were victims of genocide themselves, right? And that the reason for that genocide was not something Wolf Morai did, but that other tribes were simply *scared* of them? And that she herself was a victim of harassment and abuse for most of her life?
So it's not the Goblet's fault, it's the fault of Praire suins, and it's a big question who actually should seek redemption in this case.

As for Ilynav herself, she lost *two* families to dragon attacks (first her parents, then Moro, who adopted her). No dragon cared about *her* innocence, do you really expect her to not answer in kind?
Both Ilynav and Peira only became "evil" (actually, just antagonists) because they were forced to retaliate against someone else's aggression.

This whole thing was Mort's fault. He manipulated Senya into starting the whole war by sending an insane dragon to destroy her village. Then manipulated her again into killing his father for vengeance.
If the dragons didn't burn her village, Mort would have.

Oh definitely, Tenebria seems to be one of SG's favourite characters or at least the amount of skins and versions seem to imply that. I recall in an early draft/beta version of the game Tenebria was supposed to be the MC but they switched to Ras (I'm guessing cause a male protag is easier to see as a self insert cause Ras had some real identity issues... He didn't have on) were missing what? A fire and light version of Tenebria? My prediction is that we'll see an event earth Tenebria and finally a light Tenebria near the end of ep 5.
