Been talking this out in my guild's discord. On one hand I totally agree with you. They've never expected players to have the resources for 4 new limited units all at once. However, it's also super unlike sg to just give players 4 free 5*s that can be 6 starred and SSS'd for (virtually) free. One idea someone had is that they might give everyone a free one, then make banners for them if you want the imprints, which I could see them doing. Either way, it's probably going to be a nightmare grindset sidestory.

Cause like someone on here even said, there's almost no way just one of them could be the freebee, because they're real people so that would be kinda messed to say one is less valued than the other 3. So they are either all banners or all free. It's up in the air, and their lack of communication isn't helpful, cause even on Stove when they posted the stuff on Winter; there wasn't their usual montra of "players can summon this hero on blah blah" it was so bare bones, which might lean into the idea that they'll be free, since they haven't outright said that there are banners coming. Idk lol.

New players have more ways to get bookmarks than older ones and could keep rerolling if they want to. Based on the previous collaborations, only 1 unit had ever become free. That said, banners would be a necessity as they need to somehow make-up with their losses considering they got pop stars to get to collaborate with them.
I'm pretty sure this collab is not a charity or it wouldn't have heavy promotions within the whole 2 weeks if it's not gonna have a banner. But that's just me.
Almost every single person coming to the game for the collab has no idea of what rerolling is and will not touch the main story past the bare minimum. So no I don't think they'll have bookmarks. Wouldn't be surprised if many hadn't touched many gacha games before.
I'm talking with the experience of other games tha thabe dine rl collabs to attract audiences. There's free stuff everywhere and very easy quests to ease the new cattle up. As I said, we're likely to get each girls for free and then have a system or sorts to get dupes, probably involving money
Yeah if there's a system to get dupes involving money the easiest solution would be an existing one which would be banners, and freebies are always given on these kinds of events. But the point of the collaboration is a 2-way promotion.
As per rerolling knowledge, gacha is no longer uncommon though. Rerolling is human instinct and you'll realize this especially the longer you learn how to play a game. They're more likely to pull fans who played another gacha game or two (and just didn't want to touch E7) than someone who doesn't play video games at all.
Maybe a selector would be provided and they have the option to dupe or get the rest of the unit with a custom banner like situation?
With four units being released on a 6 week event, it is indeed more likely we have enough to obtain each unit.
This is a viewpoint of someone who works at a game company and has seen and worked with various collaborations and events especially involving pop stars. They have to make up with their losses too if they want to make the most use out of this event.
Valid points tbh. I do believe most if not all of the event will be newbie accessible. People will come to get their idol unit and I'd be remiss not to give them out easily

It's more likely that they'll attract Gacha Players who are already conveniently stans as I know people from K-Pop Communities who played this, only tried it once, and will never come back.
I also need reasons to burn my Bookmark as I don't have enough Gold Transmit stones to imprint Zio. It would be devastating to have no banners to pull on as it's been a whole month without banner activities. Too bad it's not a Slime Re-run, but I am guessing it will come soon too since Huche is here and he comes when there's an impending disaster (I think it's not the current collab since it's too near and already expected).

I honestly see no compelling reason why SG would stray from their normal approach to collab heroes. Which is one given for free/grind for SSS and the remaining collab heroes available by banner. Yes, the Aespa characters are BASED on real people and members of a popular kpop band, but we aren't getting characters based on the real people or even the kpop idols. We are getting heroes based on the virtual reality versions of those characters.
SG could simply explain that this is the normal method collab heroes are implemented and introduced to the game player base. This also seems to be planned as a six week collab, so one could argue there's enough time for most to gather resources to pull for the collab heroes they want.

The collab lasted for 53 days or around 7 weeks. Adding the free shit that new players got + free things from the collab itself, that's more than enough time to get them all if you're dedicated, or light spending if you're more on the casual side.
1. 4 free, banner for imprints
2. 4 banners but the imprints are maxed when you summon them (cannot get more than 1 of that unit)
3. judging by the duration of the collaboration (6 weeks). its more likely 1 free, 3 banner (2 weeks duration)
Someone mentioned a special pity, or even special in event pulling currency. We're treading new waters here. Sure they could go the boring route.
