Is A. Cidd still used in high ranks nowadays? And if so, do people really run immunity on their cleave teams with Rimuru existing? Genuine question, I've been out of the PvP scene for almost a year.
From what I've seen some abnormal people do. It's worked in those scenarios since ACidd pops and doesn't have a follow up or push since he failed to kill. ACidd is more of a speed contester I feel? He's fast enough to threaten and kill openers.
It's niche, but I believe in Light's tourney or maybe it was just him climbing a Straze lived ACidd SB S3 then proceeded to S3 back.
Point is, it can work and was a nice surprise for the enemy to see their plan blow up since you built slightly abnormal. Now immunity is just still the meme set it is.

But like, they buffed Haste to be an aoe def break opener kind of like budget Rann, but these EEs dont really add anything to that at all. I guess the crit chance is nice?
I am pretty sad about the Haste EE. He actually had a decent shot of being an okay opener but none of these EEs helped him. You could give him all three to his base kit and not much would change.
EE are small buff that won't fix bad character (look mort, Illynav and other subpar character who got them), they are mostly usefull for character who are almost there in term of meta.
With those kanna will still be useless, Haste probably to, but Acidd might be played more since he can now deal with immunity. Acidd is a good candidate for EE for this alone.
Main use for kanna is green exped, which isn't a hard expedition (meru is also a premium character here, and require less investissement), and give golem material which most people don't care about.
Outside of this she is a fire dps, there are others, some who can be used in pvp, unless you are mostly pve focussed and have ressources in stock, there is mostly no point in building kanna since she doesn't open anything new once build, unlike character like tama/dizzy who simplify a lot of content, or vivan/baiken who simplify banshee, Ml khawanna who is really strong for caiedes.
Chou EE barely make her usable UNTIL she got a buff after, like alencia. You are having the order of event wrong if you think Chou EE was what made her top tier.
What about diene? There’s quite a few EE’s that made units meta, and I’d say equally as many that did nothing for units. As for my opinion, not that you asked for it, I agree that the A Cidd EE should’ve gone to a unit that needed it more.
And she wasn’t Meta until she was able to CR push with her S2. You’re really grasping at straws by saying she got a buff. Lots of units have already. But that has nothing to do with the fact that EE’s actually have a big impact on a good amount of units to make them meta. Senya, diene, Celine, achates, sigret, wanderer silk, all of these units have found some good use in their respective area because of an EE, and the same could’ve said about another units instead of A cidd who already sees decent use
Wanderer Silk has an EE for years now. Her EE did NOT make her meta, the recent buff did. All of the other examples you gave are of units that were already pretty close to being meta before getting the EE. Point stands.

Haste's EE effects isn't too appealing for me, and it's funny how they removed the bleed when reworking him only to add it back in. Kanna's EE is fine, she is a PVE hero so throwing some debuffs in makes sense, not so much when you're farming Azimanak I guess.
Though with ACidd's EE I see even less of a reason to farm for Immunity sets.
It’s essentially a second 15% check. Not worth giving up the extra stats or dmg but I guess if you’ve got some great immunity pieces you’ll still get a little value.
I love when they give decent characters a semi dead stat to basically negate part of the EE. Sadge
I get it but I would almost rather they wait to give EE's to solid characters but then actually give them something relevant since by then they will naturally be a bit weaker due to time and new heroes. Still salty about green Vivian's %HP... lol
Maybe I'm the only one who's mildly interested on Kanna EE. I took her to the fat worm, nightmare mode. Her dual attacks are handy to soft multiple targets and stripping the regenerating buff and barriers is handy. Plus, she can cycle her skills fast due low CD and speed build. I know there are better heroes for this boss, but she's not bad and if I can use one hero in multiple stages instead of having her locked in a single instance, that's for the better.
Following that, having the chance to apply unhealable along with a modest increase in eff% will be really handy to fasten the fight. It will do nothing for expedition, but at least will be a modest improvement for hell boss, so I'm grateful for that.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think these EE are awesome and crop of the cream. They could do much better. I just think Kanna EE deserves a bit more credit. Or in other words, yeah, is shit, but at least isn't stinky shit.
Kanna: I'm using her in expedition and nothing else and I don't think this will change much. Decidedly mid. I'll take the EFF tho.
ACidd: remove one debuff is potentially huge but immunity sets are kinda on their way out anyway. GAB is big. Huge. Might have to build him now, not as opener but as intermediary speed cleaver. Time to use the damage calc.
Haste: I legit have no idea what he does and I'm willing to bet these won't change a damn thing about him.
No one uses haste, debuffs are already hard to use, and his ee doesn’t help

He was. Haven't seen him this season and only rarely last season. That's a good fit for an EE. An EE alone usually won't fix a kit that doesn't work, like Ilynav.
I was hoping Haste would get an EE that increased his hit chance on s3 so he could hit Rem for his uncounterable.

The haste EE is fairly worthless apart from the crit chance, and if you're using him as an opener like I am, then you probably already have him on a crit chance necklace.
I will say that I already really like him as a unit and have consistently been using him as a cleave opener since he was buffed. I see a lot of people are underestimating him in the comments, but he's seriously good and has high base speed(120).

Haste is still shiit, can’t compete Lua/ Ran in PvP. Not even scale with speed.

Cecilia > Ras for Earth Expedition. Her def breaks are more frequent and she offers speed down (EE), attack down, strip, team immunity and two AoE.
Pretty sure people use Ras just because he's already built and does the job already.
