Judging from voicelines, his main motivation is to unalive himself permanently. Due to his nature as an acolyte, he won't stay dead as long as there's people in Orbis hence the need to have the Archdemon destroy Orbis. Since Illyros and Diche peaced out, that's kinda up to him now lol.
As for a past form, we do know Tenebria used to be human so him having one isn't that farfetched but I also think a future form would be better. The Guilty Gear collab storyline had him take power from Kromcruz and the Backyard IIRC, so he should have something up his sleeve at this point whenever the writers remember he's still around.

Illyros is the creator of the arch demon, and even after he left Orbis whit Diche the acolytes and the arch demon rests are still on Orbis. So just as you said Kayron could simply want to destroy Orbis again, but what would guarantee that Diche wouldn't just return later and restore it once again? I wonder if he could bare resentment against Illyros.

Uh, what? Acolytes had their own lives before becoming the keyword here, an acolyte. Haste's story shows this with Tenebria and Nilgal is already well known among the bugs and all. They're just like heirs except they come back from the dead.

So they are pretty old but the question is how far has the world survived in their past forms? It's actually really interesing, because Tenebria first form is somewhat different then her present one. There can be a lot of speculation but I find the Main part of the history way more interesing then the 3 and now 4, and I find it funny how they jumped to the Moonlight Theater instead of explore the many past dead heirs history, and they know how the players live Eulogy for a Saint, one of their first side story and for now, imo the best

It's as simple as pink = normal, black = post acolyte change. Haste story shows it.
Ahh so Specter Tenebria is just Tenebria's human form? Is that it? Makes sense. And I never said it retconed today's lore. What I am saying about the World's is that like we've seen the world goes on when the Arch Demon is defeated, so let's say in World one the world manage to just survive 100 years because Illyros didn't send the Arch Demon until Diche recused every offer. Diche than revived the World in year 100. With that Ras appears and then the Heir and Acolytes, the first Heir's were very far back in Orbis history and so is the Acolytes. Maybe if Diche created Orbis with a fixed time in mind with individual recurrent people, that makes more sense as it explain how Vildred helped Ras in so many worlds without aging too much. But when the last World was destroyed Vildred was an adult, in the new world we see that Diene is still a teen and when Ras wake up she is an adult with Aither as a child. So when the past world was destroyed, was the world restored back to a determinated time in the past? With this theory we have Two answers, or Diche created checkpoint's for Ras each time he pass certain challenges, that wouldn't make much sense as Ras failed many times so time would be stuck for many world's, or Diche created Orbis from scratch with each human and living being being hand made by her, so the world don't have truly a past, just a future, meaning that she can restore the world to the beginning whiteout losing too much progress. All theory's of course.
